24.01.2022 Remount hosted families from Legacy Canberra today and what a joy it was to meet these beautiful kids and their Mums. There was lots of getting back in the saddle examples today and we are proud of you all for facing the challenges life presents in the way that you do. Please know that you left us with special memories too

24.01.2022 Changing Communities. Changing Lives. That’s the theme for National Volunteer Week 2020. We are giving a big shout out the the Remount family who volunteer their time to help change lives and support our Veterans and their families. Thank you to all of you who cook, ride, lend support, mentor, teach, humour, give selflessly, make beds, plait leather, feed horses, clean yards, donate your own money, share, hug, listen and laugh...........your individual and team efforts are... amazing, and it’s making a difference. Our tag line assisting those who have served to get back in the saddle and reconnect through horsemanship is how you change lives and we are proud of it. We know the community and our veterans are also proud of you. Thankyou https://www.volunteeringaustralia.org/get-involved/nvw/

24.01.2022 The horses are all (self) washed and ready to go for our first program for 2020 After 73 mm of soaking rain and some gentle sunshine we couldn’t be more ready!

24.01.2022 Here are the real champions of @remount.org.au getting ready for another day #horsesofinstagram

22.01.2022 The team at Remount are keen to get on with our post-winter calendar of programs. Our volunteers and horses are all ready to go, and we are acutely aware of the need for people to reconnect. As we navigate through the challenges Covid has presented, the main change to operating procedures will be to run one day courses only. This alleviates the issue of people staying in shared accommodation, and allows us to offer places to those who missed out in March-May this year.... Remount has now registered as a "COVID Safe business" with NSW Government. In addition, all Remount volunteers will be required to do the online Covid Safe training (Infection Control Training - COVID 19) to give you, our Drovers, the confidence your health and safety remains a priority for all. We will be in contact directly to start confirming bookings again, and thank you for your support and understanding during this time. https://dcsnsw-businessreg.s3-ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com/

21.01.2022 Remount featured on the ABC News last night thanks to Isaac Nowroozi. The Remount family takes a great deal of pride in the work we do.........but more importantly we hold an even greater respect for our Veterans who come and spend time in the saddle with us. We are particularly in debt to Anna, Rachael and Ben. They have all served our nation, and are also brave enough to share their stories of challenge and stress, and how Remount has assisted them to "get back in the sadd...le". This short TV piece will give you some insight into Remount, and how the amazing team of volunteers and our horses do some great work together, supporting our Veterans and their families. https://drive.google.com//1GCJ4Ejjcdpz1TjDiSHpcO-tss/view

21.01.2022 Thank you everyone for a great day! The Remount Open day was well attended by over 100 people, including visitors and volunteers to support the event. It was lovely meeting new people and making connections.......and we hope to see some of you book in for future programs.... Our sincere thanks to sponsors Lockheed Martin RB Sellars Yass Valley Veterinary and #Yass Soldiers Club

21.01.2022 To all our sponsors, volunteers and keen supporters, due to Covid19 and the challenges we face, we decided to cancel the next two planned programs scheduled for March 28-29 & May 9-10. I have directly notified the Drovers impacted by this decision. We will assess future programs planned for 30-31 May and beyond, as the pandemic plays out. Whilst Remount does not meet the Governments current restrictions for gatherings, the very nature of Remount involves communal dining, shar...ed accommodation and working in close proximity with each other. "Social distancing" simply goes against everything that makes Remount special, safe and practical. During this time we ask that you stay connected with us and look out for each other. As we get clear on how long Covid19 will take to pass and what dates become available for programs in the future we will be in touch. Once this is all over lets be like Kruger when he completed his self isolation, and catch up with mates - take care :-)

19.01.2022 The persistence of our Soldier On Australia Drovers paid off today with some awesome weather for your return visit. It was so good of you to come back and have another go in the true spirit of Remount, and what a day we had! The horse & rider combinations were spot on and you all mastered the skills we shared......a credit to you all.... Thank you for joining us for a day in the saddle and we look forward to riding with you again.

18.01.2022 After an hour in the saddle......what an inspiring group of people. #veterans #horsesofinstagram

18.01.2022 Kruger has just gone to wake his mates up........it’s a big day tomorrow with a new team of Drovers joining us for some time in the saddle.

18.01.2022 Happy Sunday! Running the horses in for another great day at @remount.org.au #horsesofinstagram

17.01.2022 Hats off the to the team at Remount this week. It is National Volunteering week which is a timely opportunity to acknowledge the people who give their time so generously to our Veteran and current serving members of the ADF and our first responders. Remount is a great example of a community being proactive and making a vast difference to so many people.... Your time, donations, sense of spirit and pride, humour and kindness, moral support and wisdom is priceless and you should all be proud of what you give and how it impacts. Bravo to the Remount Volunteers.

16.01.2022 Big shout out to Loryn Reynolds and her family for their show of support to Remount. Details are listed below. If you are keen to buy some ANZAC biscuits and raise money for a good cause, collection details are below.

16.01.2022 What an awesome day! With a whole range of experience in our Drovers, from never been near a horse, to very competent, we were impressed by the teams progress. It was topped off by a lovely lunch under the tree in the back paddock and some new skills moving the cattle.

16.01.2022 Whilst we are enjoying the #winter break at Remount, new projects are underway to be ready for the #spring #gardens #trees @kentsaddlery1988 #horsesofinstagram #veteran

16.01.2022 What a most beautiful day! From the warm weather, amazing hospitality, good company, new experiences, new friends (and developing quality friendships), being witness to first horse rides (ever), helping people overcome fear, then watching them leave with confidence, big smiles and a new found love of horses ............this day had it all! Thank you for riding with us today Drovers........it was our pleasure and our privilege.

15.01.2022 Mustering the horses ready for our Open Day. Hope to see you all on Saturday. Kettle will be on from 9am

14.01.2022 In the spirit of Remount, the team from Soldier On Australia arrived keen and ready to ride. The weather beat us however as the skies kept opening up, the ice fell sideways and wind cut like a knife...........so we missed out on some time in the saddle and left the horses in the paddock to turn their backs to the wind. A great time was had by all though and we shared quality time around the fire with some new friends. ... We look forward to seeing you back here soon enough when the spring weather is a bit kinder. Safe travels drovers and thankyou for coming to visit.

14.01.2022 Good friend of Remount JimandSally Hutton otherwise known as Bodger Jim, made some camp fire seats today in preparation for the cooler weather. When someone turns up to help with three chainsaws on their ute, you know you’re in good shape. Thanks for your help Jim.

13.01.2022 There was movement at the station......... In just over a week from now we will be welcoming a new team of Drovers to Remount. As you can see the horses are excited and we are too. The team are looking forward to meeting new people and getting back in saddle ourselves.... Safe travels and we look forward to meeting you soon.

12.01.2022 Enjoying the late afternoon light getting horses ready for the weekend. Looking forward to seeing the team and sharing the Remount story as soon as restrictions allow.

12.01.2022 Vale Karen Fitzpatrick The Remount family are devastated to learn of the recent passing of Karen Fitzpatrick. ... Karen rode with us in October 2018 which coincided with the start of her family’s big adventure travelling Australia. Karen left indelible impressions on us all with her beautiful personality and warm spirit. Each of us has special memories of her time at Remount and since then, through her continuous connections and communications with the team. Karen became so enamoured with her horse for the program she started the Hunter appreciation society and often shared the desire to ride him again when time allowed. Our condolences to Karen’s partner Nel and their beautiful son Gus who we also met that same weekend. We look forward to seeing you both very soon and remembering the special times with Karen. We will always remember you fondly Karen, your infectious laugh, brutal honesty and embracing hugs......save a good horse for us up there will you, in the hope that we will ride with you again one day. May you Rest In Peace......... Lifeline 13 11 14

11.01.2022 Safe travels Drovers. Whether its back to the office, trekking down the mountains, heading to the next campdraft or off home to the coast.............we wish you well and thank you for coming. It was an awesome couple of days sharing in the progress we all enjoy with these wonderful horses. Thank you again for all that you do. We hope to see you again soon somewhere in the saddle.

10.01.2022 We were blessed with beautiful weather, fine food, and amazing support crew this Remount. Many memories were made. Our visiting Drovers took to the lessons with enthusiasm and you all made great progress - in many ways. Safe travels Drovers and thank you for what you do. It was awesome to spend time in the saddle and around the camp fire with you.... Thank you Veteran Sport Australia for your support in making this happen

08.01.2022 Anzac Day is special for all Australians. It generates a myriad of feelings and memories within each of us, and across our nationand for our New Zealand friends as well. As Australians it is a time to reflect with pride and perhaps with sorrow for the sacrifice, honour and bravery of those lost..and for the commitment and sense of giving for those who currently serve. As individuals, we each hold dear our own collection of thoughts, emotions and personal reflections on ...what it means to us. As communities and cohorts, it can hold a different perspective, as likely within most teams of service men and women. Their comradeship must be intense and unwavering. As a Remount family, Anzac Day simply means to us..respect. We respect you all; without judgement. You, the men and women who have served; to those who are serving; or to those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Whatever your commitment, we do not define you by a simple measure. If you have given; you have given your all..and at Remount we will be eternally grateful. In these days of Covid-19, we hope you can hear us and feel our energy at Remountthe team are busy oiling saddles, training new horses, cleaning equipment, testing new recipes, and tending to paddocks as we await your return. It is your coming to Remount that inspires us to share our passion of the power of the horse to heal, the love of the bush, and the joy we gain in forging the mateship that comes from meeting special people like yourselves. This ANZAC Day at Remount we will be thinking of you all. Lest we forget.

08.01.2022 Hi everyone, we would like you to meet Samuels Tom.........................otherwise known as Sam. Sam is new to the Remount team and had his first outing today helping the neighbours at Hillgrove muster some cows and calves. Sam is on loan from Hugh and Georgie Rainger. Hugh’s late father Terry Rainger bought Sam at the Landmark Classic in 2007. Terry grew up in the era where he and his three brothers all rode to school and trained their horses to jump the wire fences ...to avoid opening the gates. Having spent his whole horsemanship career riding cheap and tough horses, Terry was sent off to the sale by Hugh’s Mum with strict instructions to find something within a budget, that is old and safe. Terry returned home a week later having severely broken the budget. When questioned about his indulgence Terry replied you can’t put a price on quality. Sam is a 17 year old Australian Stockhorse gelding by Lindsay out of Lady Rob Roy. It is this standard of quality afforded by people’s generosity that Remount and our visiting Drovers will all benefit from.

06.01.2022 As a wonderful supporter of Remount, we are delighted to share with you the news that Lockheed Martin has announced the establishment of a bursary with the Gallipoli Scholarship Fund. The purpose of the GSF is to honour the memory and legacy of Australian veterans. The Lockheed Martin Aust...ralia Bursary is the GSF's first corporate bursary, with the value of each Bursary being the same as for other Gallipoli Scholarships and Bursaries and apply for the first year of study. To apply see link below https://www.gallipolischolarship.com.au/14 This is a great initiative.

02.01.2022 Albert Einstein reminds us that the intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honours the servant and has forgotten the gift. As we learn from other humans, so can we learn from the horse. We can get out of our own heads, stop analysing and overthinking. By accessing the right side of our brains, we allow our horse to help us trust and respond from our intuition. Being aware and taking actions from our intu...ition can help lead to be who we truly are and who we were meant to be.
