08.01.2022 What a weekend! Two separate incidents have really got me thinking about how difficult it is for homeowners and builders to not only find reliable and honest trades, but to find ones that wont rip you off. A close family member of mine has just been ripped off for trusting a tradie, who came across as completely legit, but then started to over promise and under deliver whilst still aggressively demanding payments. Sound familiar to anyone? He has falsely represented another ...company without their consent, therefore committing criminal fraud. He is halfway through the street having taken deposits from other unsuspecting and vulnerable neighbours. And then speaking to a mate last night about his recent experience with a contractor who rorted him for a good $10k, by playing standover tactics and refusing to move large earthmoving machines from the site, until my mate coughed up more money that was never agreed to. Thats called extortion. All tradies are not bad, but admittedly it is not easy as a consumer to find the right balance to effectively manage relationships with tradies and to avoid similar situations to the above incidents. Remember, tradies are conditioned and required to deal with many different personality types and there is often lots and lots of emotions present, especially with family home building and renovations. So whats my message for the day? Dont jump into agreements with tradesman. Do your homework on them. Ask them questions about what they know, then ask those same questions to the next tradie. Educate yourself on what your your money is supposedly going to. Document everything! Make sure first and foremost that the quotation that you agree to has a very clear description of the scope of works. Discuss payment terms with the contractor. 08.01.2022 This job completed by Render My Home in 2014 has stood the test of time. Drove past it today and it looks remarkably fresh. Cement render to all internal and external areas; with white set plaster finish to internal, and an acrylic texture finish to the external walls. All external corners finished by hand, ie, no corner beads.

All cement render to internal and external areas; planter boxes, fences and swimming pool. No external beads, all corners finished by hand. Internal white set finishes and external acrylic coatings.... Used a whole range of engineered rendered products across specific areas to maximise performance, longevity and aesthetics.
