25.01.2022 Another Modular building designed and constructed by Rendine http://rendine.com.au/projects/display_project.asp?ID=806 BIGGER and BETTER were high on the agenda when Regency Park Primary School asked for a school hall that could accommodate their rapidly growing population. ... Our response? A seamless, interfaced space that increased the capacity of the existing hall by 80 per cent, enabling a place for all 600 students and faculty to come together. The new hall was recently opened and revealed the clever engineering and design that enables free flowing movement between old and new, with banks of windows creating an abundance of natural light and ventilation. The integration of colourful cladding across existing architecture and the six connecting modules distinctly defines the school brand and forms a welcoming space that provides the ideal area for school assemblies, low impact activities and performing arts. The extended decking, overlooking the sport courts, provide an indoor/outdoor connection, with the tiered deck providing a stage for gatherings in the great outdoors. With the inclusion of independent toilet amenities, this expanded space is able to be utilised by both the school and the broader community, a key feature of the schools brief to deliver a multipurpose space. 24.01.2022 WINNER of the Best Multi Unit Development (4-12 units) at the recent Master Builders Association of Victoria South West Regional Awards was Rendine Constructions Pty Ltd! A great project to be involved with, our team renovated and extended the 1920s site to provide housing for homeless people over 50. The Alexander Miller Memorial Homes at 22A Park Street, Geelong are of great social, historic and architectural significance. The redevelopment of the abandoned site remained... sympathetic to the original design, while modifying it for disabled compliance and updating the internal and external living spaces to a contemporary design. Expanding learning to the outdoors the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program has flourished with the inclusion of a kitchen adjacent to the s...chools edible garden. Integrating open plan spaces to foster the development of team teaching, and operable walls and breakout zones to support individual and small group learning, the modular design importantly addressed Play-based Learning for F-2 years and Inquiry-based Learning for 3-6 years. In addition to the six learning spaces is a central staff room and toilet amenities. When architecture and building expertise came together at the concept stage to understand the clients intrinsic curriculum needs, Rendine was able to lead and influence a process to meet the clients brief and drive a program that proved up to 50 per cent quicker than traditional construction methods. The history of Clyde House dates back to 1910, when Clyde School was founded as a private girls school in St Kilda. Relocating to Macedon in 1919, the school quickly expanded, amalgamating in 1976 with the internationally renowned Geelong Grammar School. The history between Clyde School and... the current Clyde Boarding House is maintained through the Clyde Old Girls Association. 09.01.2022 Warrnambool Primary School was constructed 140 years ago. Today, that heritage is still strongly resonated in its architecture. Yet the heritage listed entry now welcomes a new, modern day form of architecture with the addition of a Rendine Constructions Pty Ltd modular classroom building, designed and constructed 195kms away at our headquarters in Geelonghow times have changed. The modular construction comprises of two classrooms with a central, interconnecting breakout s...pace with operable walls opening to the two classroom areas. An external tiered deck provides a flexible learning space. The design is both functional and adaptive to traditional, current and future teaching and learning methodologies. Aesthetically, the intuitive design along with intelligently selected finishes and bright hues encourage interaction between users and their immediate environmentanyone for a game of chess? The chequered carpet is the ideal invitation for an afternoon of fun and creative learning! With a view to the schools master plan, the building was oriented to face north and maximise the infiltration of natural light and ocean breezes, creating a healthy and stimulating learning environment and a long term sustainable outcome. Yet whether perched on the tiered decking or looking out from within, the views to the school oval and spectacular Bunya Pines beyond are uninhibited. As our education system teaching modes evolve, so too must our ability to design and construct a classroom that is flexible to meet the developing needs of our children.
