28.04.2022 A Victorian meat processor has recently been convicted and fined over $400,000 following the death of a worker in 2017. The stock man was working alone drafting and weighing livestock on a third party property, where he was later found deceased. 08.04.2022 A Victorian Brick Manufacturing company and it's director has been convicted and fined over $50,000 after an employee was seriously injured in a forklift incident. Investigations found that the forklift operator did not hold a licence and no traffic/pedestrian management had been put in place. WorkSafe director stated there is no excuse for workplaces to be operating without safety systems in place.

12.01.2022 Zero BAC Requirement for all heavy vehicle drivers As of April 2021, the blood-alcohol limit is now zero for all drivers of heavy vehicles greater than 4.5 tonne. Previously the zero BAC requirement only applied to driver's of vehicles great than 15 tonne. However studies have shown that at a BAC of 0.05, the risk of being involved in a road crash is about double that compared with a BAC of zero.
