19.01.2022 :: FOUR MONTHS :: This photo is perfect for four months because these precious girls do not stopping chatting! They're both mid sentence here, telling me their very important stories. In case the dream doesn't last I'll celebrate now - for the most part these little ladies are sleeping through the night or if they wake, it's generally only once. Happy days! Feeding is still going brilliantly, they're storing their milk in their chipmunk cheeks and chunky thighs. Penelope is ...the most social baby I've ever known. If her eyes meet yours, she'll coo and grin right up to her eyes and squeal and kick with joy. She's everyone's cheer leader. She kicks and splashes in her bath, her hair is slowly coming in - we're still not sure what colour it will be. She's more interested in people than toys right now but she's showing more interest. Shes on the verge of her first giggle. She's patient and so obliging. Scarlett giggled for the first time riiiiight at the end of this month, the most beautiful sound in the world. She's really enjoying her toys too, grabbing & swatting at them, chatting to them, and smiling at them. Her auburn mohawk is only getting more impressive, she's copying our facial expressions (especially a frown) and wiggles like a mermaid when she has a bath. She is sweet and emotional. They both love sucking their thumbs, they are both trying to kiss us back with open mouths and they're both really loud! As always, they're happy and content bubbas who can never get enough snuggles. 19.01.2022 | ELEVEN MONTHS | Oh these girls are becoming more and more busy, leaving their tiny-babyhood behind at lightening pace. Both are on the move! Both are adding more and more sounds to their vocabulary and both are into everything and anything! . Penelope is our busiest baby to date, she is pulling up on furniture (including in the cot before we lowered the bass!) and is cruising around the furniture, she’s figured out how to get back down to her bottom now too. She can clap a...nd wave and is verging on blowing kisses. She blows raspberries, says da-da-da and va-va-va all day long. She thinks all the phone calls are for her, always adding her two cents to the conversation. She is intrigued by everything around her. She’s still my super star eater, trying everything with a great appetite. She’s beginning to pat our backs when we’re snuggling her, patting hers. She is full to the brim of delightful cheekiness and we couldn’t love her more. . Scarletta has perfected unassisted sitting and commando crawling - slithery, strong and arm over arm like a goana. All of a sudden her vocabulary has opened up and she’s caught up with Pip’s collection of sounds in no time. Like with all the other babies, her first sounds are da-da-da. She’s trying to pull up on furniture but doesn’t quite have the strength yet. She has been embracing witching hour of late but all it takes is a splash in the bath to reset her and get on with our night. She has developed a cheeky snuffled nosed grin that is beyond adorable, not so adorable is her new obsession with hair and pulling ours every chance she gets. . The girls started day care this week as I returned to work and they’ve settled in beautifully - I work at their day care so I’m there with them which has helped my mama heart settle too. They also had their first good and proper cold spanning the last week which has been a little tough on all of us. Not sure I’m quite ready to embrace the fact that this time next month we’ll be celebrating their first birthday (!) but celebrate their wonderful first year we will. . #penelopeandscarlettsfirstyear See more

The support of my husband through breastfeeding has always held true for all four of our children and I'll always be grateful. 15.01.2022 | NINE MONTHS | These baby girls are super busy, they’re interested in everything and everyone around them - and anything they can find in arms reach goes in their mouth. Penelope is sitting independently and pretty chuffed about it. She is also very much on the move, she’s commando crawling everywhere at lightening speed. It’s adorable and she’s intent on exploring as far as she can before she’s scooped up and returned to the lounge room. She is chatting up a storm, loving... her food and still far too interested in what’s going on to go to sleep easily. Scarlett has cut her first tooth! She is sitting for short stints, with assistance. She is scooting around everywhere too, with a combination of inchworming on her back and rolling. She is loving her food. She is singing up a storm instead of chatting so much, she scrunches her nose on purpose to make a silly face and when she’s excited she whacks us with her arm. She’s still super snuggly and gives the best hugs. Both girls are very aware of when I leave their line of sight and are both a little more clingy than usual. They’re interacting more and more which is just about the sweetest thing ever. They love being entertained by their big brother & sister, not so keen on being smothered in love kisses from them though. 12.01.2022 Penelope : 7 weeks I've never had a tummy sleeper before, but I've also never had such a colicky baby before either. I dared put her down for a nap on her tummy once, seeing as she'd sleep so soundly on her tummy on us, and voila! she has such a settled sleep now. She goes down on her tummy for all of her day naps (with me hovering over her every fifteen minutes watching her little body rise and fall). 08.01.2022 | EIGHT MONTHS | These baby girls are on the move! They’re not even close to crawling but they are covering so much ground command-rolling, inch-worming and breakdance-donuting on their backs that they don’t need to yet. There is much hair pulling (Penelope!) and eye gouging (Scarletta!) to be broken up. Penelope is babbling up a storm of da-da-da and bup-bup-bup in her sweetest sing song voice. She is super busy, very inquisitive and most determined to explore the house. S...he is so strong, if any of my babies walk before twelve months, it will be her for sure! She is snuggly, is quick with a firm grasp on anyone’s hair and cheeky as ever. She loovvves her food, but she’s so nosey that breastfeeding her is becoming a challenge! She is super ticklish and her scrunched nose smile is still the best thing since sliced bread. She needs more sleep than she’s currently getting. Scarlett is our songstress, serenading us with her high pitched, sweet tunes daily. She gives the best cuddles, she is placid and content. When she’s excited she waves her left hand around like crazy - her whacking hand! She’ll be an expert hula dancer once she’s up and about, she loves wiggling her hips. She is constantly exploring textures with her scratchy little hands - including our skin. She’s our magical unicorn who puts herself to sleep when she’s tired, just let her have her thumb and she’s set. They adore their big siblings like crazy, they’re scooching across the floor to all of us for cuddles and champion eaters! They bring smiles to all of our faces innumerable times every single day, our family is so completed by these two. 06.01.2022 | 10 MONTHS | Look at them! We’re still in our little love bubble over here, especially as these girls are developing so quickly and their personalities are blooming. Penelope is on the move - she commando crawls like a wounded soldier retreating but she covers a heck of a lot of ground at lightening speed ... and she’s beginning to pull up on furniture! She is chatting up a storm ... nang-nang, da-da-da, bub-bub ... she is blowing raspberries and rolling her tongue. She is... starting to wave. She’s the best solids eater I’ve ever had. She is intrigued by everything, inspecting the things she comes across in the house, watching everyone intently. She is sweet and full of sunshiney joy. Scarlett has been up in all fours rocking for ages now, but has only just started inching forward - half crawl, have commando crawl - though her movement depends entirely upon what she’s moving towards. She has shirt stints of sitting up unassisted. Still only the two teeth which she has tried out on our fingers, the furniture and Pip’s foot! She is adding more and more sounds to her vocabulary but prefers her high pitched singing. She loves the feel of skin so seeks out ours or her own bare belly whenever she can. She is still our sleeping super star and has a passing interest in solids. She is calm and snuggly, interested and watches on quietly. Our little unicorn. Both girls love being entertained, peek-a-boo, silly songs and tickling gets them both chuckling. They’re interacting together a little more which also means they’re beginning to fight over toys and water bottles too. This age is so beautiful, they’re both bringing so much joy and love into our home.

02.01.2022 :: FIVE MONTHS :: This age is incredibly beautiful. They're playing so well, they laugh easily, they're beginning to snuggle into us more, they chat and love listening to our singing. They have stars in their eyes for their big siblings. Penelope rolled over for the first time yesterday- twice!! She didn't get a fright, she just lay there kicking around trying to figure out how to get off her own arm. She is soooo ticklish and has the funniest little giggle. She has been a ...little unsettled, perhaps pesky teeth are moving around or she's more aware of her environment, but sleep isn't coming as easily for her as before. She's physically very strong and loves cruising around on our shoulders looking around at the world, she listens intently and smiles easily. She's still our little ray of sunshine and joy, though a little less patient than before. Scarlett is so content, she pops her thumb in her mouth and drifts off to sleep whenever and wherever she feels tired. She loves holding hands and touching faces. She is easy to giggle when she gets too many kisses under her chin, she is the cheekiest girl. She spins 90 degrees in her cot every single night and so has worn two bald patches on the back of her head - fabulous mohawk in tact ;) She is coy and such a delight. Everything is going into their mouths right now - including their whole fist! They are becoming more aware of each other, Scarlett especially adores her sister and is always trying to strike up conversation. They're becoming more and more social when we take them out and about. They're both developing cheeky natures, they wriggle the moment a nappy is off their toosh making it difficult to get a fresh one on and they do their best to pull their toys down from the playgym.
