23.01.2022 WORKPLACE WELLNESS Taking short health breaks at work can make a world of difference to your wellbeing at work. - If you sit at a desk all day - stand up every hour and stretch your shoulders and spine. Regular stretching can help reduce neck, shoulder and back pain, stress, headaches, and allows your eyes to rest. ... If you’re not sure how to stretch your body correctly, check out Deakin University Office Exercises chart at https://www.deakin.edu.au//0008/228671/office-exercises.pdf - Make sure you sip water throughout the day. Keep a water bottle on your desk. - Drink herbal teas at work rather than coffee, especially after lunch. - Take healthy snacks to work - fruit, raw nuts and seeds. - On your lunch break, get away from your computer and get out into the fresh air. Turn your phone off and go for a walk to oxygenate your body and release stress. - If you work on your feet all day, get outside, sit in sunshine, and breathe in fresh air during your break. A short meditation can also do wonders for reducing stress. inspiring better health www.renerhealthclinics.com.au #renerhealthclinics #workplacehealth #officestretches #health #wellbeing #naturopath #westernaustralia

22.01.2022 ARE YOU HAPPY? A Harvard study (conducted since the 1930’s) has found that it is not money, success, or fame that creates a happy life. Rather, it is our connection with others, and the quality of our relationships, that determines happiness and satisfaction.... Real time - interacting with people we can trust and depend on keeps us happy and healthy - and living longer too. So if you want to be happy - connect. Reduce your screen time. Make time to be with those you love. Pick up your phone and call. Enjoy a meal together. Meet up. Talk. Hug. Share. inspiring better health www.renerhealthclinics.com.au #renerhealthclinics #happiness #healthylife #health #bodymindsoul #life #westernaustralia

20.01.2022 DON’T WAIT TO BE HAPPY We live in challenging times, but that doesn’t mean we can’t experience happiness. When life confronts us, it’s a reminder that what we want to create in life begins within. ... Deep breathing and prayer, meditation, gratitude, yoga and exercise, rest, healthy food, focussing on our values, holding to our heart centres and our humanity - these things help. Navigating hard times also requires patience and compassion when we might be tempted to explode or feel helpless; staying focused and continually visualising the life we wish to live; and treating everyone as we would like to be treated - with a big dose of kindness. Most of all, spend time appreciating all that you love, conscious that your thoughts become your story, and your story becomes the life you live. inspiring better health www.renerhealthclinics.com.au #renerhealthclinics #happiness #wellbeing #bodymindspirit #resilience #alignment #westernaustralia

20.01.2022 Our Naturopaths see digestive complaints as a common presentation in their patients, with symptoms such as heartburn, stomach pain, bloating, flatulence, diarrhea and constipation commonly experienced. All too often patients put up with these symptoms, mistakenly thinking they are a normal and unavoidable part of their lives. Herbal medicines and specific nutrients can be used to not only reduce digestive symptoms but also to enhance digestive function. These herbs and nutrients can help to stimulate gastric fluids to enhance the breakdown of foods, reduce bloating and excess gas, support digestive enzyme production, reduce inflammation and irritation, stimulate bile secretion, and provide bulk to regulate the bowels.

18.01.2022 FESTIVE SEASON RECOVERY RECIPES No.6 Many of us want to change some part of our lives so we can be healthier. We even have good intentions. ... We start exercising and stop. We begin a new diet and blow it. We make promises to ourselves and break them. Then we keep on doing what we’ve always done, getting the same results, and plodding along. We don’t feel great. But we keep busy - living as if what we do is more important than how we feel. HEALTH TIP 6 - MAKE A COMMITMENT TO YOU It’s almost time to make your New Year resolutions. And if healthy is how you want to live in 2021, the first thing you need to do is change the relationship you have with you. DO YOU APPRECIATE YOU? Many of us live our lives as if so many other things are more important than our own wellbeing. We get caught up in our to-do lists and neglect our health. We don’t appreciate the miracle that we are - dissatisfied with the way we look, or the things we are not, or what we haven’t achieved. So, before the New Year begins, take some time-out to reassess your relationship with yourself. Think about you for a moment - do you appreciate you? Do you nurture your health and wellbeing? Are you your own best friend? Then think about the relationship you have with your body. Do you appreciate your body and all that it does for you? Do you look after your body? Do you nurture and protect it? And if not, why not? YOU & YOUR BODY Your body is a miracle. It truly is. From the hair on your head to your toenails, you are made up of trillions of cells. The body you see when you look at yourself in a mirror is the combined activities of different types of cells, with different functions working together. At a fundamental level, there are only two things your cells are doing creating energy and using energy in a continual cycle. If this cycle is not broken, your internal environment remains in a state of balance and order, which you experience as health. There is only one thing that can upset this cycle - you not supplying what your body needs to be healthy. A PROMISE TO YOURSELF So as we ring in the New Year, make a promise to yourself - that you will honour you - that you will dedicate time to your health and wellbeing - and you will not give up on you. And if you need help, we’re here to support you too. All the very best for 2021, Shane, Lisa and all the crew at Rener. inspiring better health www.renerhealthclinics.com.au #renerhealthclinics #healthtips #health #wellness #healthyliving #bodymindspirit #motivation #selfcare #selflove #westernaustralia

12.01.2022 THE POWER OF GRATITUDE Decades of studies have shown that appreciation improves health and mental wellbeing, strengthens relationships, and helps us endure challenging times in our lives. Whether you write in a journal, focus on positive affirmations, or share what you appreciate with your family and friends - make gratitude a daily practice. Because appreciation is also fundamental to happiness and peace of mind.... ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE Our mindset shapes our experiences. What we focus on (our thoughts) is where our energy flows, and what we eventually manifest in life. Affirmations can help us focus our intention to create a happier, healthier life. The affirmations we are sharing with you today, are the work of Jason Stephenson. They are subliminal, set beneath beautiful music you can play in the background while you’re working, studying, or relaxing. GRATITUDE AFFIRMATIONS Today, I invite gratitude into my heart. I have an attitude of appreciating things. I am focused on positivity and thankfulness. I am grateful for my loving family and friends. I give thanks continually as I make progress each day. I am blessed in a lot of ways and genuinely grateful. I am grateful for my life and growing awareness within it. I am grateful for my life. Today, I am grateful for another day of life. I am truly grateful for being surrounded by such amazing people. I am grateful for my journey and its lessons. I am grateful for my mind and my body. I am grateful for every experience I’ve had as it has shaped me into the person I am today. I am thankful for my family that I am a part of. I am blessed to have lived the life I have always dreamed of. I am thankful for every person that has come into my life and has made a lasting impact on me. I am thankful for all the blessings I receive daily. I am thankful for my sense of sight, as I see the color of life. I am thankful for my sense of hearing, as I am able to hear the voices of my loved ones and the harmonious chords of music. I am thankful for my sense of touch, as I am able to feel the breath of the wind and the hands of my loved ones. I am thankful for my sense of smell, as I am able to smell scented candles, perfumes and beautiful flowers in the garden. I am thankful for my sense of taste, as I am able to savour the flavours of my favorite foods. I am thankful for my mistakes and heartbreaks as these helped me improve and become a better person. I am thankful for the love I receive each day. I am grateful for the chance that life offers me each day to start over and create the life that I want. I am grateful for my job as I am making my own money and made a lot of long-time friends. I am immensely thankful for simply being alive today. 07.01.2022 WINTER HYDRATION IS ESSENTIAL Your body is mainly made up of water. And one of the most important things for your health is to stay hydrated. Too many people feel tired because they are not drinking enough water. Aim to drink 8 glasses per day, even during winter.... If the weather is cold, have warm drinks. Green tea and herbal blends will keep you hydrated and healthy. And you can always create delicious brews - like blueberry tea. BLUEBERRY TEA RECIPE 1 teabag or teaspoon of organic green tea. 1 handful of blueberries. 1 teaspoon of raw honey. Wash the blueberries and use a stick blender (or mash by hand) to pulp the berries. Blueberry flavour is beautiful in tea. Make a pot or cup of green tea using simmering hot water (not boiling water). Using lower water temperatures (75-80 celsius) for making green tea will preserve the amino acids and delicate flavour. The temperature of boiling water is 100 degrees celsius, and that’s way too hot for green tea varieties. Steep for a few minutes and serve. When you can comfortably hold your tea in your mouth without burning your tongue, add 1-2 teaspoons of blueberry pulp for another delicious layer of flavour and goodness. And if you like sweetened tea, add raw honey. Enjoy! inspiring better health www.renerhealthclinics.com.au #renerhealthclinics #winterhealth #hydration #blueberrytea #greentea #health #naturopath #westernaustralia

07.01.2022 USE LEMON & CLOVES TO REPEL FLIES Lemon and cloves are a natural way to repel flies so you can enjoy your outdoor meals. Depending on how big your outdoor dining table is, you will need 2-3 lemons cut in half.... Then, slice a thin layer off the bottom of each lemon half so they sit flat and place each half in a small decorative bowl or saucer plate. Make sure you use sealed ceramic or glass. Stick 20 cloves into each lemon half and then add 8 drops of Immune Guard essential oil over the cloves. Immune Guard not only guards against germs and bacteria, the ingredients also make a great natural insect repellent. Immune Guard combines lemon myrtle with menthol tones of peppermint, woodsy eucalyptus, rosemary, and warm spicy tones of cinnamon and cloves. Flies don’t like it - and you can eat in peace without having to constantly wave them away. Place your lemon and infused cloves at intervals along your table about 15 minutes before you are due to eat to allow the scents to get to work. If you’d like more information about Immune Guard we have pamphlets at the clinic and testers. inspiring better health www.renerhealthclinics.com.au #renerhealthclinics #healthylife #naturalflyrepellent #barbecues #picnics #westernaustralia

04.01.2022 FESTIVE SEASON RECOVERY RECIPES No.5 No matter what time of the year it is, gut health is central to your overall health and wellbeing, inflammation levels, and strength of your immune system. HEALTH TIP 5 - REBOOT YOUR GUT HEALTH... Once the festive season is over, it’s always a good idea to cleanse and reboot your health. Our mango smoothie recipe is designed to promote gut health, reduce inflammation, support your immune system, and improve energy, fat and sugar metabolism. MANGO GUT HEALTH SMOOTHIE Serves 2 people 1 Mango, or a finely chopped apple. 1 punnet of blueberries or 6 strawberries. 2 tablespoons of oat bran. 1 heaped teaspoon of lucuma fibre powder. 1 teaspoon of maca powder. 1/2 teaspoon of true Ceylon cinnamon powder. 1 probiotic capsule. 250ml of activated almond milk or Bonsoy soy milk. Fresh mango is a beautiful summer fruit that creates a delicious smoothie. You can also use organic frozen mango as an alternative, or a finely chopped apple. You can use fresh or organic frozen berries. If you are using frozen fruit, defrost it in the fridge the night before. Fruit and lucuma fibre is naturally sweet so you shouldn’t need to add anything else - but If you do want a dash of extra sweetener, use pure maple syrup, 2 medjool dates, or a few drops of liquid stevia. And if you want an extra boost of energy - or you just love chocolate smoothies - add 1 or 2 teaspoons of raw cacao powder. Start your smoothie by adding a plant based milk of your choice to your blender. Add the fruit and blend thoroughly. Next, add the powders and probiotic, and blend again. Finally, add the oat bran and blend thoroughly on a high speed. Always add the oat bran last because your drink will thicken quickly. If it’s too thick, simply add a little more milk. This recipe is perfect for a smoothie bowl, or pour into a tall glass and chew as you eat it. Chewing your smoothies aids digestion. RECIPE NOTE If you have never used lucuma fibre powder before, it is worth adding to your breakfast go-to’s. You can use lucuma in your smoothies, fresh juices, porridge, muesli or yoghurt. It’s available from health food shops and bulk food stores. LUCUMA Rich in soluble fibre low Glycemic Index (GI) aids digestion inhibits carb digestion feeds beneficial gut bacteria balances blood sugar supports gut and heart health promotes wound healing nutritious sugar alternative high antioxidant activity antihyperglycemic gastroprotective protects against inflammation and improve symptoms of gut disorders, including irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Crohn’s disease, and ulcerative colitis. inspiring better health www.renerhealthclinics.com.au #renerhealthclinics #healthtips #bowels #constipation #fibre #probiotics #Christmas #NewYear #westernaustralia
