25.01.2022 The Power of Play - Research shows play can improve children's abilities to plan, organize, get along with others, and regulate emotions. In addition, play helps with language, math and social skills, and even helps children cope with stress.

25.01.2022 I've loved having Ashton home and watching him interact with our daycare children. They really are our extended family. We are so lucky they chose us. This is what makes Family Day Care so special It's been a real rollercoaster few months with Covid-19. We are thankful for our extended family and excited to see more of everyone. #renesfamilydaycare #family #familydaycare

22.01.2022 This week we added bugs and tongs to our tuff tray. The pom poms from last week became balls of pollen (childs idea). Using tongs can be quite tricky, so this activity really helped build those fine motor muscles and improve those skills. #bugs #finemotorskills #tufftray #renesfamilydaycare

21.01.2022 First day of school holidays we usually have a Pyjama day. So that's exactly what we did. We had our friends from Little Inspirations Family Day Care join us in some Pyjama Day activities. Play dough Pancake making, pizza making, designing our own pyjamas and a Pyjama matching game. We ended our day with a group time story called Bedtime for Little Bears and ate our yummy pizzas.

20.01.2022 Our Spring Sensory soup Bin. Today the children enjoyed touching ice cubes filled with different materials such as glitter, flowers, food colour and pom poms all mixed in with some flowers that were picked from our garden. This activity was chosen because so many of our wonderful children in care enjoy sensory/water play.

20.01.2022 Currently collecting resources for our next theme. A visit to Kmart (oh how I love kmart!) And we are part way there. Still a little bit more shopping and planning to do but Im sure the children and myself will learn so much from the planned experiences over the next coming weeks. #renesfamilydaycare #dinosaurdiscovery #learningisfun #learnthroughplay #dinosaur

18.01.2022 This week is Road Safety week. We have been having conversations with the children about how we can be safe when near the road, what the traffic light signals mean, ensuring we are always wearing a seatbelt or strapped in to a car seat when in a moving vehicle and what safety equipment we need to wear when riding a bike or motorbike.

07.01.2022 Role play will give children the skills to handle problematic social interactions, such as bullying, which may happen as they progress through life. When children engage in role playing it helps to develop their way of thinking and helps them to develop feelings of empathy. #roleplay #renesfamilydaycare #friendship

03.01.2022 Recycling with kids is an important activity both at home and at childcare. It shows children how we can save resources and reduce our impact on the environment. By reusing what we already have, were leaving more resources behind for a sustainable future. We are asking if you could please save your milk bottle tops, and circular yoghurt tops so we can reuse them as a part of our loose parts play. #looseparts #sustainability #recycle #reuse #artandcraft #renesfamilydaycare
