25.01.2022 Malcolm's update... Survived the night. On his third bag of fluid with vitamin B and pain killers. Eating well. Definitely has a good chance of survival now. Even used his bowels, I know, yuck... But this is a big thing for his recovery. Will pick him up from the vet after lunch today. Photo to follow then. Whoo who.

25.01.2022 Malcolm is not doing very well. We may not have found him soon enough. He has been starving because he could not climb with his bad hand. The vet has him on a drip overnight but is worried that his kidneys may have already closed down. .

24.01.2022 Our new sign... Also we have 2 boys leaving today, so have 2 vacancies in a 4 bed share room. Phone Vicki 0407420404.

23.01.2022 Malcolm had his first day outside. One front arm is good now and the wound on the other is looking a bit better. We put him in the cage in his basket and he immediately climbed his kindergarten tree. Things are looking up for him.

23.01.2022 Sad to say goodbye to old Malcolm we thought his rehab was going so well but after several seizures, he died last night.

22.01.2022 Thankyou to this little girl (dog). She found a distressed koala sitting on the ground. Looks like Mal (koala) has a broken front claw. More info to follow after his vet visit.

22.01.2022 Just letting you know Malcolm the koala is still in rehab. His claw is looking better but the infection has not cleared up yet.

22.01.2022 We have been out looking for koalas with the 3 French boys before they left. We found 7. Such a good find.

17.01.2022 One boy is not arriving and has cancelled his accommodation. After telling everyone we have no vacancies, we now find ourselves with one bed in a 3 bed share room. Ring Vicki on 0407420404 if you would like to stay with some wonderful backpackers.

17.01.2022 We picked Malcolm up from the vet this afternoon. Dr Hammond and his crew have done a fantastic job, even though Malcolm is not out of the woods yet. When we offered to pay his bill but we were told that nothing was owing Dr Hammond was covering all the cost. Thankyou doc it is really appreciated. Malcolm is now at home in front of the fire sleeping.

16.01.2022 Last night we had Sam from the ABC radio drop into Renmark koala backpackers, just to ask some backpackers a few questions about how the Covid and border restrictions are effecting there time in Australia.

13.01.2022 After a bad day yesterday where Malcolm had a big seizure and a quick trip to the vet yesterday, he has ha a trouble free day today. More active. Eating heaps... And no more seizures. Fingers crossed. We had Cianna feeding him today and he loved the pats and ate more than he has. Thanks Cianna.

02.01.2022 Well we are talking koalas again because we do not have any vacancies to advertise. I have a girl leaving next we'd so will have room for one person then. Back to Malcolm. He is doing real good. Well enough to have an xray on his claw this week, to see if he will be able to climb again.
