14.01.2022 EXTERIOR INSPO + a little muse... This popped into my feed last week & I came to a screaming halt... Isn't it stunning? So stunningly simple, sleek and stylish with the most beautiful curves. ... With a exterior like this you could easily go over the top but what I love here is how its foiled in simplicity that allows the home to sing. The sign of a fabulous designer. Simplicity to hard. Very hard to get right. Its oh so simple to just throw elements into a design, to try to have it gel, but true genius exists when the designer stops. Revisits, resolves, removes and stops. Its a circle I learnt about at my drawing table...going over and over iterations to the most complex of designs, that yes, worked. But those that I loved, truly loved, were worked through again and resolved until they sung. And generally they became the most simple of designs, and they've always been my most successful x Greg Natale; Inner West - Sydney home

12.01.2022 LOCAL INSPIRATION - SACKVILLE North Church - Hawkesbury So I'm a little bit late to the party... I knew, had seen the posts but hadn't a chance to watch the most recent series of #GrandDesignsAustralia. ... Tonight, the girls rumbling on the rug, hubby and I sneakily switched over from Bluey and curled up to enjoy amongst the squeels. Have you seen it? So many beautiful features. The detail, the thought, the dignity given to the old church; space for it to 'be' amongst the needs of family living. But what caught me most...the joy. Simply the joy of this family as they created their home, and it shows. I especially adore the glass atrium connecting past with the future, in so many ways. Fully totally and utterly recommend this for a good watch with a glass of wine Couple of key points which also makes it interesting to watch: - BAL FZ (yep) - And yes, that is copper cladding (my 6yr old LOVES it!) - Passive house extension, sealed with triple glazing #sydneyrenovation #ownerbuilder #homeinspiration
