22.01.2022 Thanks to our team for getting the word out, we are looking forward to some tinkering on Saturday 17 Oct from 1pm to 3pm at the People Place at 19-21 Kent Street. Bring your broken things and we will see if we can get things working again.... Also we are always looking for repairers. If you know someone who likes fixing things and can help those among us who don't yet have the confidence, bring them along we would love to meet them!... See you Saturday!
22.01.2022 Celebrating International Repair Day on 17 October. https://openrepair.org/announcements/repair-day-2020/ We think that being able to fix stuff rather than having to buy more things is critical. It deepens your sense of ownership and just feels good. Come to the People Place, 19-21 Kent Street at 1pm on Saturday to help us celebrate repair skills - that all of us could have!
18.01.2022 We need some help finding old rocking chair pieces. We are looking to restore an old rocking chair but I thought to ask our repair community whether any one knows of an old rocking chair being thrown out or beyond help? Before we go ahead and start making the pieces we need, I thought to see if there is any old piece about to be disposed that is unsalvageable. ... Please let us know on this page or email [email protected] and spread the word!!! Thank you!!
17.01.2022 One of many repairs but shows how we are getting things done!

15.01.2022 Come and see us to repair things or have things repaired. We are looking to divert waste from landfill while improving your own repair skills. Come down to the People Place 19-21 Kent Street every third Saturday of the month between 1-3pm to be part of a growing movement!
14.01.2022 We welcome anyone with any level of repair or tinkering skills. Come to the next event to chat with other practical people or maybe start on a repair straight away! Very satisfying afternoon to work on projects that might suit your interest with others who share your knowledge and enthusiasm. It is not essential but if you can let us know you are interested we can have a workplace ready to go. ... Hopefully we see you at the next Repair CoOp day - 19-21 Kent Street, West Busselton.
14.01.2022 Enjoy your weekend everybody and if you have any questions, like how to fix a zipper, have a look at the Instructables website. It is one of my favourites and will give you PLENTY of build ideas! Our next event is Saturday 19 September, 1pm to 3 pm and jobs that are booked in already include fixing a rocking chair and rigging up an aquaponics system. Anything could turn up on the day - all are welcome!
14.01.2022 We are looking forward to welcoming instrument repairer (luthier) David to our next event at 1pm on 15 August 2020. He brings many skills that can help teach you how to repair your broken items, such as the rocking chair that we need to finish and an aquaponics system that needs resurrecting! As always, Jan our lovely sewing expert will be ready to show you sewing skills and Clayton will be working with Nick to finish the rocking chair for Julie! Exciting stuff, we hope to s...ee you there for a cup of tea and to tinker with broken goods! Last meeting we rescued a chair, vacuum cleaners, made little jumpers for dogs and scoped out the pumps needed to resurrect the aquaponics. It is all go....
13.01.2022 All the back struts are turned for the rocking chair, looking forward to getting it back together!!! Come and see some furniture repair underway, it has been a long project and can't wait to see it finished!!!
12.01.2022 A couple of shots from 19 September, 2020
12.01.2022 We are postponing Repair CoOp meetings until the Coronavirus situation stabilises. This decision took much discussion of the pros and cons but we are trying to be a responsible community group and limit the spread of this thing. Thank you for your patience - there will be many more Repair days once we are through this event!... For more info, regular updates can be found here: * Health WA resident / consumer website - healthywa.wa.gov.au/Articles/A_E/Coronavirus * Department of Health WA industry and professionals and industry website ww2.health.wa.gov.au/Articles/A_E/Coronavirus * Federal Department of Health industry resources https://www.health.gov.au//novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov-res Please take care and stay calm - no one has banned cake yet!!
11.01.2022 Whew, thanks to Janine for getting these photos and videos done, great work. It was a great day and looking forward to keep on growing this event, we are just getting into the swing of things and looking forward to welcoming more people and teaching how to diagnose and fix problems.
09.01.2022 Great meeting last time, we had more wins than not and some new skills were learned!!! We are now looking for a licenced electrician that may want to help with the level of electrical appliances that are coming in. If you know someone who has the skills and tickets and wants to help, please ask them to get in touch with us, it is a very rewarding and a relaxed afternoon. Our next meeting on Sat 21 Nov will be our last for 2020 and we will have a BBQ and another look at the aquaculture set up to get it running!!!
08.01.2022 Mike is sleuthing through some timing issues! Thanks to Busselton Mail for the column inches!! Great to see the interest is growing!!
07.01.2022 Heads up!! Allowing Australians to repair their own goods is being scrutinised by the Productivity Commission right now. https://www.pc.gov.au/inquiries/current/repair This is a great opportunity to show manufacturers we can repair our things if the right guides and tools are made available. Think of the things that need specialised knowledge like phones, cars, tractors, etc. ... It is easy to read and making a submission can be done using their online form. This could mean repairing things will be much easier in the future so we can move away from the 'throw away' culture!! This is a great opportunity to enter into the discussion and put your thoughts forward.
06.01.2022 Have you got repair skills? Please join us and talk with other repairers, maybe learn some new skills or just have a cuppa with other practically-minded people. We need new repairers to build up the skills in our town and we would welcome your abilities. It is a relaxed atmosphere with practical people doing practical things to stop landfill, reduce spending and making Busselton more self-reliant !
05.01.2022 Another successful day at the Repair CoOp on Saturday, we fixed a chair, two clocks, an electric organ and tried to repair a remote control helicopter although without luck on that one!! Looking forward to our next meeting on 17 October 2020 - hope to see you there! Great atmosphere and kid friendly venue.
05.01.2022 What an awesome Saturday. We fixed a whipper snipper, taught how to sew jumpers for dogs, repaired a vacuum cleaner and halfway through a major Rocking Chair repair (looking forward to finishing it Julie!!). More and more people are offering their skills showing how to fix their items. Relaxed atmosphere and more things saved from landfill. Photos to follow soon!
03.01.2022 Some of the stories from our February repair day - we had many wins!
02.01.2022 At last the rocking chair is repaired!!! When this was brought in nearly all the struts were broken and the seat was splitting. Now, after turning new struts and replaning the chair slats, we finally have a top class rocking chair!! Thanks to David from the Busselton Woodturners and our own repairers, especially Clayton. We are so happy Julie will be able to enjoy the forthcoming summer evenings rocking on her chair on the porch!! See you on the third Saturday of October at the People Place at 1pm!!
01.01.2022 We are on again this Saturday 19 September between 1-3pm. All welcome, whether you wish to repair or have something to be repaired, we are keen to help! Teas and coffees available and space for the kids to run around! See you on Saturday!
