20.01.2022 We would love as many people to join us as possible for Plastic Free July which starts tomorrow We have joined the challenge to avoid single use and takeaway plastics by becoming extra aware of bringing our own cutlery, keep cups, water bottles, containers and bags. While this is something I generally do there are sometimes occasions when I’m forgetting-particularly when I’m away from home or not planning ahead. I would like to challenge myself to bring a higher awareness ...to my actions and improve my behaviors. Will you join the challenge too? You can join for a day, a week or longer. And I think it’s so important to just start somewhere. Every small action you take is contributing to a better world. Take the first step and you’ll be on your journey to reducing plastic waste!

19.01.2022 Instagram vs reality We are totally loving our new lights But as you can see from the 2nd photo, it’s not all insta worthy pictures ... 15.01.2022 There’s nothing like a change in plan to keep us on our toes! The shelves we had ordered were not quite the right match, so a decision was made yesterday to paint them. All 6 of them We think they look better now, which is good because we don’t have time to change them again

07.01.2022 During Plastic Free July we’ll be highlighting some of the options for recycling in our local area. First up is polystyrene! Polystyrene is one of my pet hates. Especially when you get sheets of it unexpectedly hidden in furniture boxes, orders and other purchases. Then it snaps and bits of it fly around everywhere But did you know we have a polystyrene recycling facility on the Fraser Coast where you can take this pesky plastic? Read up on the massive efforts being made to... divert it from landfill. From the Fraser Coast Regional Council: Enough polystyrene packaging to fill an Olympic swimming pool has been diverted from landfill on the Fraser Coast in the past year! Fraser Coast residents can drop off one cubic metre of clean polystyrene for free at the recycling sheds at Nikenbah and Maryborough waste facilities. The polystyrene is melted into bricks and used to create new products such as composite decking, picture frames and skirting boards!
