21.01.2022 Going 100% plastic free in your everyday life and home is HARD WORK! Although the times are changing and fast we can't escape the fact that for the last few decades, we've been set up to rely on plastics in almost every area of our lives. Just take a quick look around (seriously look up from your screen for a sec!) and notice how much plastic is around you right now While going 100% plastic free can seem daunting, in actual fact there are loads of small, everyday twea...ks you can make at home to cut out unnecessary plastics. And the beauty of it is they're so simple, once you start you'll never look back! This Plastic Free July we'll be partnering with Maddie from Our Simple Gestures, an online platform dedicated to teaching you exactly how you can make those everyday changes from simple habit or product swaps to DIYs and recipes. We'll be sharing some of her favourite plastic-free hacks for the home, moving from room to room throughout the month. We'd love you to join us on this journey! Let us know in the comments what you're looking forward to learning, or changing, this Plastic Free July

20.01.2022 Love fashion, or work in the industry? We've just dropped a new piece of research just for you! 41% of Aussies say that their biggest concern about clothing and footwear is who made their clothes. When we dig a little deeper into the data, we find this splits into two categories: around half of respondents say Aussie Made is their biggest priority, and the other half are concerned about ethical labour. Want to know how the data breaks down by generation, or compare country vs... city folk? We've got it all wrapped up in shiny new Power and the Passion sector snapshot for you! 15.01.2022 "I’m a Gen Z baby, born in 1996. Back then there were only 100,000 websites in existence, and eBay was still in its infancy. Today 25 years later there’s over a billion websites and eBay now has over 180 million users worldwide. I grew up with a mobile phone in my hand, and the internet at my fingertips. At school, we learnt to touch type alongside handwriting, and although we had a library, we found more information from online resources. Sometimes I hear this assumption... that Gen Z is disconnected from the world because we’re too connected to our screens. In reality however, it’s this connection to our screens that’s giving us a front row seat to the unfolding disasters happening everyday." Over on the Republic of Everyone blog, our resident Zoomer unpacks why Gen Z aren't the entitled generation the comments section thinks they are. 12.01.2022 The data is clear: Aussies want to see their banks, insurance funds and insurance companies supporting Australians. 16% of city folk and 23% of regional Aussies say that the biggest issue that they want to see their banks, insurance companies and super funds supporting is made in Australia / supporting Australian suppliers. The next issue on the list is supporting families in poverty (for city folk, it follows extremely closely at 15.5%; and for regional, 13%), followed by su...pporting struggling farmers (city folk: 9%; regional, 10%). The results were pretty similar across generations bar Gen Z. Can you guess what their top 3 issues were?
