23.01.2022 Got a dead laptop or computer with lots of memories stuck on it? Give me a call and I'll save all of your photo's and video's to a flash drive. Same day service and a low price of $30 (plus price of flash drive or provide your own). *Please Note: This is not a system repair, this is saving your pictures and other files to a drive for access on other devices and to save them from being lost or thrown away.

22.01.2022 Are those bruises on your forehead? If you have noticed your computer isn't running as fast as it once was, whether it's used for home, office or gaming, you may think virus's, lack of memory or too many heavy/hidden programs running in the background may be the issue. While there are more issues that could cause this, I have been noticing one thing that people don't really think about.... DUST. This PC pictured is used in an office attached to a local businesses factory. I'm not sure how long it has been since its last clean but wow. "But why is dust an issue?" While your computer is running, the CPU (The Brain) gets quite hot, this is normal. If the CPU gets too hot though, your system will run slowly and you'll notice things start taking longer and longer to load and it may even just turn off to protect itself from frying beyond repair. "But that doesn't tell me why dust is an issue." Sitting on top of the CPU is a heat sink. The heat sink is an aluminium bunch of fins that draw out the heat from the CPU. Attached to the top of the heat sink is a fan to draw air through the fins and further cool the CPU. "IS THIS GUY EVER GOING TO GET TO THE POINT?" Thats where DUST comes into the equation. Dust, over time, builds up and stops airflow through these fins. It can also clog your CPU Fan all together. This is where the head-butting the table in frustration comes in, give me a call and let those bruises heal. Get a free* PC Dust Bunny Inspection when you like and share this page. *No Obligation. Cleaning charge applied if required. A quote will be given according to the depth of dust and if fans need repairing/replacing.

17.01.2022 BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU PUT IN YOUR SLOT! Before I start. Firmware is hidden files and code that comes installed on every usb device available except cables. Virus scanners do not currently scan this section of your thumb drive, mobile phone, keyboard etc. Hackers have decided to use this to their advantage. This is becoming more and more common.... They call it BadUSB The computer recognises the device as a keyboard. This "virtual keyboard" proceeds to "type" very harmful, preset sequences into your PC. The possibilities this unlocks for mayhem is quite large. It also uploads another process to replace/activate as your screen saver so that when you unlock your PC and type your User Password, it logs it so that it can keep on doing damage, even when your computer is "locked". These infected drives have been planted or dropped outside particular companies as a trap for workers of the company to plug it in out of curiosity. Then KABLOOOOOM! Nothing is sacred. Because it's undetectable, there's no way to know if a device is infected until it's too late. So unfortunately you can't trust friends to charge their phone using your computers USB input anymore. Bummer. Also, if you find a USB flash drive on the ground, the best thing to do is throw it away or advertise it found. DO NOT RISK PUTING IT IN YOUR SLOT. This is where I sign out. I would say "make sure you use protection" but in this circumstance I feel it's a little pointless. Peter Hines http://mashable.com/2014/10/03/bad-usb/
