This iPad had been repaired elsewhere before; note the residue and smudges on the lower left corner of the LCD; beware of repair shops who do not have good attention to detail; they won't clean up after themselves which is especially bad when doing glass-only repairs.

This is usually (not always) a sign of a cheap repair with poor quality parts; was obvious in this case; as the LCD stopped working completely without any damage.
