16.01.2022 YERMUE'S STORY OF RESILIENCE Yermue has overcome incredible obstacles to graduate from Year 6 in primary school this year in March, she was born in Myanmar and is 16 years old. Yermue and her brothers came to Rescue Mission for Children in 2014 after her father and mother abandoned them. The youngest brother Niamiah, was only three years old. Their elderly grandmother took them in, but she was unable to work and couldn't feed the three growing children, this forced the thre...e children to be on the street as beggars. Yermue was trying to care for her brothers, but was in an extremely dangerous position as a young girl on the streets with no guardians. Yermue and her two younger brothers were rescued from the Myanmar border, they have thrived at the Rescue Mission for the past six years, are well-fed, have safety and shelter, receive an education, are loved, cared for and protected. Yermue is a stateless person who has no legal right to exist in any country, she has no right for education or medical care, she cannot travel from one place to another. Rescue Mission for Children continues to give her the opportunity of education which enables her to be recognised legally and gain citizenship in Thailand eventually. Her dream is to continue her education and be an assistant nurse in the future. Rescue Mission For Children is very proud of all our graduating students in 2020, they are Yermue, Busah and Weerapat. Dream big , we are proud of you and your future is bright! Graduating class of 2020.

06.01.2022 DENGUE FEVER Please be in prayer for the Rescue Mission children as Thailand enters another Dengue fever season. Many of our children were affected by the epidemic of Dengue fever across Asia last year, with 36 children admitted to Mae Suai and Chiang Rai hospitals with high fevers and vomiting. Dengue fever is a highly infectious mosquito-borne illness which causes high temperatures and flu-like symptoms such as headaches, pain behind the eyes and in joints, nausea, swollen ...glands and a rash. It generally lasts for 2-7 days, however severe dengue fever can develop into acute abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, bleeding gums, vomiting blood, rapid breathing, fatigue or restlessness which can lead to respiratory distress and organ impairment. There is no vaccine or specific medication for dengue fever. Asa, our general manager, has worked incredibly hard, in collaboration with our board, to ensure all precautions have been taken to protect the children and keep them healthy and well. This includes professionally spraying the grounds to eradicate mosquitos, liaising with the Director of the Padad health clinic for advice on early detection and treatment, and facilitating health department inspections of every water drainage area on site. Every child uses a mosquito net for sleeping, applies mosquito repellent vigilantly and we have just purchased new mosquito nets for optimal effectiveness. Thank you for your ongoing prayers for safety and protection, your continued support and love for these precious children.

05.01.2022 The year 2020 has bought unprecedented challenges to our 'normal' way of operating at the Rescue Mission for Children. In response, we have put many new measures in place to keep our children healthy and safe. The children have embraced the 'new normal' with resilience and solidarity and we are happy to share that they are all thriving and well.
