25.01.2022 RESCUED! My name is Alisha. Being a 19 year old young girl I was very interested in radio programs and shows. There was a radio show called, Can I be your friend? I was very into the show and that’s how I met a guy with whom I started communicating. He told me he was not married and was looking for a friend. We were so into each other that I used to be in phone communication with him most of the time. We were talking about meeting in person but his home was several hours... away from where I lived. One day we decided to meet. For some time, I had been having serious neck pain, so I decided to travel to Butwal for my treatment. The guy said he would meet me at Butwal. He had also asked me to marry him. He then told me that he had good contacts in India and that the treatment for my neck would be a cheaper there so, we decided to go to India. We met at Butwal Bus Park and boarded our bus. That’s when the ASSN staff came on our bus and they started enquiring about us. They asked to see our identification. I gave them my information but the details he gave them were completely different to what he told me about himself. It became very clear to the ASSN staff I was about to be trafficked this man was married with two kids! I was totally unaware about human trafficking. I can not imagine what my life would have been like if the ASSN team had not rescued me. I would like to thank ASSN for saving me and helping me return to my family. Now I can warn other girls about human trafficking. See more

23.01.2022 One of our lovely supporters, Aimee McCloskey, an Aussie mum with daughters of her own has written a heart touching blog about a mum in another country...a country where daughters are preyed upon and their vulnerability is used as weapon against them. A Nepali mum. You can read Aimee's blog here: https://everydaughtermatters.org.au/helping-hands/ #rescuingnepalsdaughters

22.01.2022 On Sunday we held our first EDM / ASSN staff meeting via Zoom with all our new Border Surveillance Counsellors and Emergency Safe House staff. What a joy to be able to connect despite covid-19! Your support has enabled us to employ these counsellors and increase ASSN's capacity to rescue girls being trafficked!

22.01.2022 Human beings are NOT commodities to service a supply chain. In just ONE of ASSN's Border Surveillance Booths, 35-50 girls are intercepted every month. Help us rescue Nepal's daughters.

11.01.2022 A sobering insight into Human Trafficking and why we have joined the fight.

09.01.2022 Rescued! My name is Susmita. My husband and I were unable to make enough money to look after our family so he had to go away from our home to earn money so we could eat. He did call me from time to time but after few months, he stopped calling me and sending money for our family. I didn’t know where he was or what he was doing. So, I started searching for a job so I could feed my small son. During this time, a woman came to my village. She said she would help me get job. I... went with her to Butwal, not thinking about what would happen next. I was just desperate to get a job. The lady bought a bus ticket from Acharya Tour and Travels for India and we waited for the bus to take us to India. Two ladies in uniforms came and spoke to me and asked me where I was going. I replied, I was going to India, and they also asked me, who was I travelling with and I replied that I was going there with a sister for job. Then they told me that about human trafficking and how traffickers sell women to brothels in India. They told me they were ASSN staff. Those sisters took me with them. I stayed at the ASSN Grace Shelter Home and the next day they helped me return to my home. The sisters of ASSN work to stop girls being trafficked from the Butwal Bus Park. This organization saved life my life and the lives of many women and girls like me. I thank ASSN for their effort and care and for saving my life. See more

05.01.2022 Human trafficking is a $150 BILLION a year industry. 'You can sell a bag of drugs once....but a person can be sold multiple times.' This is the harsh reality of human trafficking. #notonourwatch #rescuingnepalsdaughters #notforsale

05.01.2022 RESCUED! My name is Junu. I was born in a very remote area of Nepal. My family has always been very poor and just living every day has not been easy. Because of lack of access to transport and poor financial circumstances, most children in our area do not receive a good education, if at all. When I was 16 years old, I fell in love with a guy in my village. After a few months we decided we wanted to get married. My partner had been spending some time working in India and he... said that it was a nice place and we should start living there after our marriage. I knew my parents would not be happy about all this, because the guy was from a lower caste, so I kept these things to myself. After some time and the continual struggle of life in my village I decided I would go to India. I got so caught up with my hopes and dreams of a better life that it was all I could think about. I also thought that even though my parents would be upset with me leaving, they would forgive me when I was able to send money back home to them to help them. One cold morning, it was time to leave my home. My partner had gone ahead to India saying he was setting things up for us and for my employment. When I reached Butwal bus station some staff from ASSN spoke to me and asked about my situation. They felt very concerned that I was being trafficked. Together we rang my partner. After I told him what the ASSN staff had said he hung up and switched off the phone and I have not had any contact with him since. In that moment I realised it had all been a trap. ASSN tried to reunite me with my family, but my father was not ready to take me back into the family after he knew I was going to elope with a guy that belonged to the Dalit community. He thought that I brought shame to our family. ASSN took me to their Grace Shelter home. I stayed with them for three months. That time with ASSN was the best time of my life. I was treated very kindly. I felt loved and cared for. I was given the opportunity to learn new skills and equip myself for the future. With counselling, I also recovered psychologically. ASSN has been such a blessing to me. They also worked with my family and helped me re-establish a good relationship with them. I cannot thank ASSN enough for all they did to help save me and return me to my family. I now know there are thousands of young girls like me who are victims of sex trafficking. I pray that ASSN will be able to rescue as many young girls as possible from the hell of being sold into slavery. See more

01.01.2022 Our team has been working in communities along the Nepal/Indian border, educating them about human trafficking and the way traffickers work. It’s great to see these communities learning to work together to stamp out this evil trade.
