20.01.2022 We are a collective of organisations (tagged) with a shared understanding that growing edible food can be a force for good in society. We share a commitment to ...support the expansion of all forms of edible food growing in Australian towns and cities, and for that reason are collaborating to organise the 3rd national Urban Agriculture Forum (www.uaf.org.au). In support of that commitment, we are interested in understanding the extent to which the COVID19 restrictions and their legacy have impacted the attitude and actions of community members towards edible food growing. 04.01.2022 Did you have a go at the Wild Pollinator Count in April? Our period of COVID lockdown gave many of us a chance to really get to know the flowering plants in our... own backyards. The Wild Pollinator Count is an opportunity for you to help wild pollinator insect conservation in Australia - all the bugs, butterflies and creepy crawlies that contribute to pollination in gardens and on farms. You are invited to count wild pollinators in your local environment and help build a database on pollinator activity. The Spring 2020 count runs from 8-15 November. Anyone, anywhere in Australia, can contribute to the dataset you just need to have 10 minutes available to sit in the sun on a warm, calm day looking at a flowering plant or tree of your choice. It’s tough. You can do this. For more information visit: https://wildpollinatorcount.com/ Photo: A European honeybee feeding on the lavender in the CCA carpark last week.
