25.01.2022 Hi Everyone! Please see the link below to the report that was published regarding the Coomera Connector with a focus on Stage 1 which ofcourse includes Oakey Creek Road. Basically they have said from the community drop in centres and surveys that 4/5 people are wanting the road ! Which I find very hard to believe !! WE STILL HAVE TIME to have our say and I have added the links at the bottom of this post. We still can make an impact! Like I said in the previous post , I will b...e resubmitting our report and also adding to the feedback link. We need as many ppl on this as possible so please take the time to have your say and save our estate. There is animation of where the road will go and look like but conveniently it cuts out just before Oakey Creek. Fingers crossed that’s a sign ? https://youtu.be/oylFHsLMU8k All other links below ! https://www.tmr.qld.gov.au/coomeraconnector. REPORT OVERVIEW: Community consultation on the Coomera Connector was held between 8 November and 8 December 2019. The consultation program included a series of 10 community drop in sessions along the 45km project corridor, plus online engagement activities. There was significant interest from the community with 3,200 visits to the website, more than 2,000 people visiting the community drop in sessions to talk to the project team, and 700 pieces of feedback received. A telephone survey of 1,000 residents and businesses revealed 4 out of 5 people in the project corridor area support the introduction of the Coomera Connector. WE HAVE UNTIL 16 June 2020 - The Stage 1 Coomera Connector project EPBC referral is open for public comment until then. TO VIEW AND COMMENT: on the Stage 1 Coomera Connector project EPBC referral, visit the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment website. : http://epbcnotices.environment.gov.au/invitations/

25.01.2022 Hi Everyone. Please see the attached leaflet regarding an update on the Coomera Connector. This is being distributed to letter boxes in our Estate as many residents do not follow this Facebook page. If it is not in your letter box today it will be tomorrow. COOMERA CONNECTOR UPDATE - FORESHORE COOMERA ESTATE Are you aware the proposed Coomera Connector will run next the western and north-western boundaries of our Estate and will cross Oakey Creek Road at the entrance to ...Foreshore Coomera? Are you also aware Oakey Creek Road is being considered as a mayor connection point that will direct traffic to and from the M1 and local suburbs along Foxwell Road? Would you like more information about the Coomera Connector and an opportunity to have a say on future livability in Foreshore Coomera? If so, please read on . The Department of Transport and Mains Roads (TMR) is progressing planning of the Coomera Connector Project a future state-controlled north-south corridor between Loganholme and Nerang east of the Pacific Motorway (M1). Stage 1 of the Coomera Connector has been identified as the southern section between Coomera and Nerang. TMR is now developing a business case and reference design for Stage 1 for consideration by government in mid-2021. To ensure residents who live close to the Coomera Connector corridor have their say about the design for Stage 1, TMR has established a Community Connector Community Reference Group (CRG) for the business case phase of the project. The purpose of this Group is to consult with residents who will live close to the Coomera Connector corridor during the development of the reference design and business case to enable community input on key project negotiables, such as urban design. Two residents who live in our Estate, Amy Kinnane (Lavinia Street) and Paul Hogan (Coorong Street) have been invited to represent the Foreshores community. Both have accepted with the first meeting set for 2 September 2020. The Group is expected to meet four times (September & November 2020 and April & June 2021). A Facebook Page Residents of Foreshore Estate Coomera is available. Amy and Paul will post background information, including a TMR maps which shows in detail where the 6 lane Coomera Connector runs past our Estate. We will also post updates and share information on this page and residents can post comments. If you are NOT a Facebook user we can be contacted by email. Your interest and participation is encourage. Please LIKE our Facebook page. Thank you. Contact Details Amy Kinnane Email: [email protected] Paul Hogan [email protected]

24.01.2022 IMPORTANT NOTICE : EASTERN BROWN SNAKE Hi Everyone, I wanted to make you all aware there was an Eastern Brown Snake captured today in the estate. A resident on Kerang Street was greeted by a very aggressive brown on their doorstep this morning. The snake was captured and removed by a professional snake catcher. In light of this, I have attached a photo of the snake, types of Eastern Browns , Emergency Aid required if a bite is to occur and Gold Coast Snake Catchers details. Eastern Browns are highly venomous so call 000 immediately if you do get bitten.

24.01.2022 Hi Everyone, In these uncertain times, I just want to reach out to our Foreshores community and ask if anyone needs anything at all. If you are finding it hard to get groceries or need me to pick something up please let me know and I can try and help. How lucky are we to have a little shops at the end of our street !!?? Stay safe everyone! Amy

24.01.2022 Further to my post below attached is a copy of the detailed map I referred to that shows the location of the Coomera Connector next to Foreshore Coomera. Note the provision for a connection point to and from Foxwell Road at the entrance to our Estate on Oakey Creek Road.

24.01.2022 Stole this from another community page if anyone wants to get into the spirit

23.01.2022 Hi guys. Well after hours of putting together a submission and months of waiting for a response , we finally have this piece of garbage below. In all hosenty it feels as though it was a monumental waste of time apart from the fact we all put faces to names in our estate. The only positive I can see in this letter is that they are putting some consideration into where the exit point is for stage 1. This dosn’t really speak to much but I guess there was a specific mention which is a plus. All we can hope is that the Federal Government dosnt have the funds and at the moment we don’t even have toilet paper so

23.01.2022 Yesterday a meeting was held with Donna Gates, our local Gold Coast City Councillor and Deputy Mayor to discuss the Coomera Connector (CC). The purpose was to discuss the two Coomera connection points under consideration by TMR and the impact on traffic onto Foxwell Road. Surprisingly, Donna was unaware of the Shipper Drive connection option. It was good a TMR representative at the meeting confirmed that BOTH options were being considered. ... Donna was supportive of the Shipper exit option. However, she mentioned that approval had been given for the expansion of the Marina precinct between Shipper Drive and Oakey Creek. We assume that GCCC is aware of TMR’s requirements for the CC through that vicinity. We also detailed our reasons and preference for the CC to run under Oakey Creek Road, whether a a connection point is decided to be constructed here or not. The TMR representative advised an underpass can be expected, which is positive news. Donna advised Council was not concerned about the impact of flow on traffic to and from the Connector along Foxwell Road. She advised traffic volume and ongoing development will continue to be in accordance with the GCCC City Plan density levels. As a side note Donna mentioned the following developments (approved and unapproved) along or near Foxwell Road which may be of interest: A special school at the corner of Foxwell Road and Galaxy Road, east of Foreshore Coomera not far past Amity Road; Costco Coomera will be located immediately behind Westfield Coomera; More residential homes and town houses have been approved at the roundabout opposite the Shell service station on the corner next to the new high school; An aged care retirement / age care facility on the same side of Foxwell Road as the high school somewhere between the ‘Shell’ roundabout and the TAFE; a Council Community Centre on the vacant land directly in front of Westfield Coomera; and an investigation is underway for a hospital behind the Coomera Railway Station on the eastern side of the railway line. Donna confirmed she will continue to be available to engage assist our community. Paul Hogan and Bob McDonald

22.01.2022 Hi everyone. Just a quick FYI : I have sent an email to TMR and Cc’d Micheal Crandon in to get an update on the Coomera Connector planning for Oakey Creek Road as well as more in-depth Information on the Survey that was released. I also re-attached the submission and used the opportunity to reiterate our thoughts on this development. I’ll see what we get back and give an update as soon as I hear. Please keep sharing and sending any information you may have. Fingers crossed for a positive outcome

21.01.2022 There may be hope ! This is from Ryan Bayldon-Lumsden (Division 7 City of Gold Coast). Looks like the submissions against the road have had some impact. Rethinking is definitely better than designing ! Thank you Ryan for your support this far. Hi Amy. Thanks for writing. I have been told that the consultation feedback has shown significant opposition to the proposal and some rethinking may be in the pipeline. I will publish my thinking on the proposal once the discussion period has ended on my post. The only way to defeat these type of proposals is to make them election issues for both your councilors and state members. Keep an eye on my page for my update. Thanks for writing and the very interesting information. Cheers Ryan

21.01.2022 The article is mainly focused on the wetlands Eagleby but there is mention of environmental impacts of the entire build. Let’s just hope Coomera and surrounding areas are a focus too. I will be resending our submission with Koala Habitat mentioned again in the hope we get a better response. Please keep forwarding information to me for sharing as I appreciate the help

20.01.2022 Let’s hope Shipper Drive is the Exit Point https://www.facebook.com/1729147630711565/posts/2493455954280725/?extid=0&d=n

18.01.2022 Hi guys. Just some info on the speed sign as you enter the estate. Let’s hope it’s stops the tradies and trucks flying up and down Oakey Creek.

18.01.2022 Hi Team. I have had the following correspondence from MP Micheal Crandon in relation to his meetings and Foreshore community concerns with the Coomera Connector and Corridor. Thoughts?

18.01.2022 We need our voices heard loud and clear. Chris Johnson is Labor and pushing for the Coomera Connector as an election promise to gain votes. He’s not the only one! When we go to the polls this October it’s integral we get it right and the candidates need our votes. The Connector is in Business Plan stage and will be submitted early next year. The time is now to have our say. Don’t just leave it to your neighbours, as it effects us all. The ENTIRE estate has ONE exit and entry... point and we will be sharing this with the Connectors ONLY exit/entry point for ALL surrounding suburbs, not to mentions YEARS of road works! Yep 6 LANES of traffic in between us and Woolworths ! We all need to tell Chris and the other candidates what we think! The time is now because tomorrow is too late! Don’t regret staying silent because the freeway certainly won’t be! See more

17.01.2022 This is the best outcome we could have hoped for at this stage. ( apart from stopping it all together, which is still an option for the future. ) We have time! Thank you for all your help and everyone who put their personal time into putting together letters , emails and submissions. I will keep you informed as to anything else noted or reported on this issue . Well don’t Team!

17.01.2022 Hi Team. Further to my post regarding Communication between Micheal Crandon and Stockland, please see below. Bit too late for us but let’s hope they follow through with being open with future residents. There is also a Foreshores Survey for residents to have your say on living here that Foreshores have posted on the Facebook page. I have attached the link below. http://bit.ly/2uyeyQG

15.01.2022 Has anyone received the newsletter which provides an update on update the Coomera Connector that was being delivered to our letter boxes last week? I am still waiting to receive it!

15.01.2022 It was so nice to see so many on their driveways this morning ! I hope you all had a relaxing Anzac Day and are all keeping safe and well. Lest We Forget

14.01.2022 Good Afternoon Everyone. On Thursday I submitted a letter to the editor of the Gold Coast Bulletin in response to an article that was published in last Tuesday's paper about the "strong support" for the Coomera Connector. This support was based on the State Government commissioned survey of 1,000 residents and business between Coolangatta and Eagleby. Lat Tuesday's article reported no opposition to the Coomera Connector despite opposition being reported in the TMR Consultatio...Continue reading

14.01.2022 The QLD government (Transport and Main Roads - TMR) is continuing the disinformation campaign about the Coomera Connector / Second M1. Gold Coast residents are ...receiving propaganda leaflets with computer generated images of selected sections, painting the motorway as if it was far away from homes, did not generate any air pollution and was quiet as a meadow, so mothers with small children can happily stroll along. It is as if the people pushing this project forward saw the world only from the inside of a car. For real life motorway experience try getting on foot close to M1 in Oxenford, or take the pedestrian overpass in Helensvale. No sane person would walk next to it for pleasure, as for living next to it... The leaflet does not stress enough the consultation results that show a different picture to the secret (the script is not public) telephone survey, which a private company did after the consultation already started and the TMR could see where it was going. I think this is something that the Qld Ombudsman should look at - it looks like the consultation was not genuine. It looks like a political reaction by the Labor government to the "We will build a second M1 to ease congestion" ads by LNP. We don't know how many people who called or emailed TMR said no to the motorway. We only know the answer to the web survey question "Do you support the Coomera Connector as a transport solution?" 47.1% said no, 14.2% were unsure, 38.7% said yes. This is not in the leaflet. The leaflet says that the key outcome of the community consultation was: "80 per cent supported the Coomera Connector being built as soon as possible." This is how Gold Coast residents are supposed to envision the Coomera Connector - who would not want that?

14.01.2022 From 6 lanes to 4 and possibly exiting at Shipper Drive. This is what I’m getting from this post. It’s some small wins. I’m going to make contact with Deb today and see if I can get some more information

13.01.2022 A letter from the Minister in response to one of the groups partition against the Coomera Connector. We need to vote these people out!

12.01.2022 Hi Everyone ! We thought it would be a great idea to set up a Facebook Group for our estate so that it’s easier for all of us to post, share and update on community info as this page is a little harder to navigate. I have added the link below. Just click the link and press join group and we will accept your request. It’s a private group so share freely. This page and the new group is all linked so we will primarily share updates on the Road here and keep the Facebook post more positive and fun so you can go between https://www.facebook.com/groups/2409533132680664/?ref=share

12.01.2022 Good morning everyone. A number of people have confirmed they did not receive a copy of the Coomera Connector Newsletter. I have informed the Coomera Connector Project Team. I am not sure if any action will be taken. Attached is a copy for your information. Please share with other residents you know who live in our estate as many do not follow this Facebook page. REMEMBER YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO SUBMIT FEEDBACK ON THE COOMERA CONNECTOR CLOSES ON !! OCTOBER 2020. Thank you.

12.01.2022 Important Information- Please Share

10.01.2022 Some people have commented that the link I provided to view this morning’s GCB article about the Coomera Connector can only be accessed if you have a current digital subscription. The article is reproduced in full below and the photographs that appeared within this article are attached showing how close the Coomera Connect is to Foreshore Coomera. Foreshores is mention towards the end of the article. Heading: Stop sign: political party oppose to the Coomera Connector Communit...Continue reading

10.01.2022 Further to the update I posted a couple of days ago TMR launched today the second round of consultation focusing on Stage 1 of the project between Coomera and Nerang. The consultation period ends on 11 October 2020. The purpose of this consultation is to provide everyone with more information about what the Coomera Connector will look like and the opportunity for the community to comment on the negotiable urban design-related aspects of the project. These negotiables have b...een set by TMR and covers noise barriers, design of retaining walls, landscaping and planting in and around the project corridor and design of the shared path for walking and bike riding. Importantly, the TMR consultation website features a 3D project visualisation tool that enables community members to explore 360 panoramas of what the Coomera Connector may look like. The visualisation is a useful tool, EXCEPT FOR FORESHORE COOMERA. Residents from all other estates can view a closeup view of their location. We cannot, which makes it difficult to consider and comment on the list of negotiables. The detailed panorama view stops short Coomera Foreshore and makes no reference to the connection options Shipper Drive or Oakey Creek Road. In the absence of this decision we don’t know the how the Connector fits with our estate I believe this makes it difficult for us to consider and comment on the on the urban design aspects except in a very general way. I don’t think this is fair on our estate. If anyone shares my concerns I encourage you to inform TMR of you views along the following lines: a decision on the local connection point for Coomera Foreshore needs to be made now so we can comment in detail on what is going to happen, do not support a connection point at Oakey Creek Road due to the Connector being too close to homes that back directly onto to the proposed roadway, support the alternative option at Shipper Drive as this is located next to an industrial estate - Gold Coast Mariner precinct - which will less impacts on human lives in our estate, request a detailed panorama visual for Connector passing by Foreshore Coomera, just like all other estates have. and the Connector roadway be cut into the ground around the our estate running under Oakey Creek Road and the roadway path be screen by a line of trees and vegetation to shield our estate from any visual view of the roadway and associated road noise. 09.01.2022 FIRE ANTS Hi team. My husband was bitten by a nest of fire ants tonight near our garbage bin. They are extremely aggressive and leave a nasty rash. He is fine but this could be dangerous for anyone that may have an allergic reaction, children and pets. When bitten their sting feels like burning. We have reported this to the government site https://ants.daf.qld.gov.au and an officer should come to our property soon. I have also emailed Michael Crandon ( email below ) This is quite serious as we have young children. I’m assuming if we have them then other residents do too. I have attached some photos below. The picture with the 5cent piece is one from our property. We are on Lavinia Way.

07.01.2022 REMINDER YOUR COOMERA CONNECTOR FEEDBACK OPPORTUNITY CLOSES ON SUNDAY Please take the time to provide you feedback. It only takes 5 minutes by keeping it short and simple. Thank you to anyone who has already done so. ... Remember, unlike other impacted estates we cannot comment on the reference design (pictures of what the connector will look like) for our local rea as our area does not included This is because a decision has not yet been made where our local connection point will be located at Shipper Drive or at Oakey creek Road. When this decision is made TMR will prepare a reference design of our area it will be available for consultation with our Estate. This reference design will graphically show the starting point for a first look at what the new roadway will look like and provide us with a clearer reference point on which we can comment on. Until then I don’t think our community is in a position to provide specific comments like the other communities can. BUT I STILL STRONGLY ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO SUBMIT ANY GENERAL VIEWS OR CONCERNS. Here are some key points you can consider which may assist compiling any feedback: Do you want a connection point at Oakey Creek Road? Do you want the highway to run under or over Oakey Creek Road? Do you want the new highway cut into the ground as much as possible across the front of our estate? Do you want as much treelined vegetation retained between our estate and any noise barriers and the highway to maintain the present look and feel of Estate? Will a connection point at Oakey Creek and / or pedestrian and cycle path create security risks for our estate? Should the pathway be located on the Woolworths side of the estate and not on our side? Is the pathway necessary? Who wants to walk or ride next to a motorway and why impose this space when the available space is already too tight? Are you concerned about the major disruptions to our daily lives during constructions as well as health impacts from dust, ongoing construction noise? Please think about how you would answer these questions as well as other issues which are important to you and then spend 5 minutes to send your feedback. Only a few key points will do that are important to you PEASE SEND YOU FEEDBACK BY NO LATER THAN THIS SUNDAY TO THIS EMAIL LINK - [email protected] Paul Hogan

06.01.2022 Hi Everyone ! I have had a response from TMR regarding follow up information on the Coomera Connector development through Oakey Creek and Stage 1 Exit point. They have also provided information on the Survey done. I’d love to hear your thoughts! These are mine: The questions were directly aimed at finding out IF the road is even going to be placed through Oakey Creek as all information on any Government site available to the public, either stops short of or avoids Oakey Cr...eek altogether. Nowhere has it officially given our Estate a definitive answer that the CC is going to be developed on our doorstep. In fact, apparently they are still "asking" the community for their input. Yet, TMR have answered the questions as if asked what choice of paint colour Oakey Creek would get for their piece of sound barrier! Its condescending at best. Our positon is, and always will be, having our voices heard way before the ink dries on the final plans. Our best chance right now is Political and its starts in October this year when we have a chance to vote these people out. The bottom line is this: Its pure ignorance that these people made a short-sighted decision for a major road development in the 90s and then expected it to be relevant over 20 years later. Just because a line was drawn on a map two decades ago didn't stop council cutting land on that line, Stockland selling it and us putting our savings into new homes through blatant lies and misrepresentation of what those lines represented. As soon as shovel met soil they should have been no longer valid, but no one seems to want to take responsibility because it doesn't effect them. Yet, its still happening , people are STILL buying land here not knowing what's happening 100m away. Its just pure bullshit. Please PM me if you would like a copy of the Community Consultation Summary they provided as I cant attach to this post.

02.01.2022 IMPORTANT COMMUNITY UPDATE Happy Tuesday everyone! TMR have contacted me and arranged for a meeting to answer questions and concerns regarding the Coomera Connector and our estate. This will be happening next week on Monday and I would like to get as many concerns answered for everyone as possible. The best option is if you can please either comment below , Private Message or email me with your questions/ concerns and I will then update everyone after the meeting. I have ask...ed 2 of my neighbours who sit on the boundary and are directly effected to join me so we have a chance to absorb all information provided accurately. Logistically and due to current restrictions I think this is the best option at this stage. If you could please get your questions in prior to the meeting at 12pm Monday , that would be great! . Fingers crossed Amy E: [email protected]

01.01.2022 Hi Everyone, For any residents wanting information on today’s meeting with TMR please PM or email us and I can provide specifics. Thank you
