10.01.2022 The rat did it ... or did it? In a recent complaint we were asked to assist with, the insurer on two separate occasions declined the building insurance claim for $25,000 on the basis of the rodent exclusion in the policy. We successfully argued that the damage to the pipe which caused the flooding and subsequent damage could have been caused by a possum.... I’m delighted to say that following our intervention, the insurer overturned their original decision and is honouring the $25,000 in repairs.
