25.01.2022 Revisiting the EL house on a nice winters day. The L shape opens to the north allowing winter sun and light into every room while shading itself in summer. #goldcoastarchitecture #queenslandarchitecture #resonanceda #subtropicaldesign #housedesign

25.01.2022 One of our latest amenities refurbishments for DoE. An old hardwood 'stick' framed rural school building re-invented. This is all about passive surveillance and proving a bit of comfort for the kids. Making the space more inviting and relaxing through soft colours and the texture of tiles, separating the combined hand wash zone from the privacy of the cubicles. and a few shots of the original for reference!

24.01.2022 learning zones are not always about the classroom. Some fun spaces recently completed to complement the indoor zones at Currumbin SS provide functionality for play, learning and parent waiting zones.

20.01.2022 A couple of early concept images for some houses on Hope Island. Working with very restrictive development guidelines these house aim to embed a sub tropical lifestyle with deep north facing balconies, double height volumes and stretching out the plan for central courtyards and vertical circulation.

14.01.2022 Sunrise over beechmont

14.01.2022 a small refurb on it's way. Well the portal frame will be kept at least. This multi-purpose hall will be getting a new 1st grade sprung floor, gym, large LED screens and custom high level transparent venting awnings. This will supplement the adjoining sports complex with competition basketball and volleyball facilities and double as a performance and training hall.

14.01.2022 The concepts for this little bushfire recovery house utilise recycled bricks to create an articulated defence facing the primary fire direction while opening up to the view on the other side. A simple mountain shack utilises sliding fire rated panels to open up outdoor rooms that allow all the warmpth of north facing timber decking and wall lining while satisfy BAL 40 ratings. Low budget and DIY, this will be a simple structure filled with lovingly crafted details.

11.01.2022 When handover is not quite handover. Final touches of Kimberly Park SS. Just throw in landscaping and kids

10.01.2022 a few shots from our recent visit to the Weemala indigenous higher education centre at ACU. Now with the custom made mobile, modular furniture (and outdoor beanbags) it's creating it's own identity as a safe and welcoming space.

10.01.2022 Looking forward to seeing this yarning circle get finished in the ACU Strathfield Campus (Sydney). Shrouded by a giant white fig tree this will be a culturally safe space for the Yalbalinga community.

10.01.2022 The Weemala outdoor learning centre coming along nicely

09.01.2022 the developing concept for this extensive refurb is coming to life #educationarchitetcure #brisbanearchitetcure

08.01.2022 The almost complete Weemala outdoor learning area at ACU. Just add furniture and people.

08.01.2022 The recently completed junior courtyard upgrades at Coomera State College has taken a dirt embankment and turned it into an inviting, hard wearing and playfull space. All elements are multipurpose to suite lunch time play and seating, outdoor learning environments and performance areas while stabilising the bank and reducing maintenance. The gardens have been prepared for the kids to plant them out and look after them to give some ownerships to the space

07.01.2022 the office through the tree fern

03.01.2022 It was great to stop by this house we recently completed in use. It's always important to understand how a space it utilised and seeing the young family take over was fantastic.

02.01.2022 Some more exciting 'renovations' coming soon. A refurbished administration building takes it's 70's origins and adds a bit of modern.

02.01.2022 The second courtyard completed at Currumbin SS and first of the master plan. The entry court was just a sprawl of old bitumen with a low hot structure outside the canteen. The new works was to make a more formal space that can still be utilised by the kids for play but primarily service as access. The pathways designate primary routes and are flanked by shade trees. New rubber and turf infills soften the area while the new high level roof opens up the canteen zone with a light and airy covered zone. New custom furniture is a little playful and provides platforms and terraces for multiple uses.

02.01.2022 The space between the buildings comes to life. Concepts for the next phase of Currumbin SS courtyard upgrades. The aim of this is to activate the access route and provide a visual connection towards the oval
