20.01.2022 STATE ELECTION | RIN urges members to be informed voters Resource Industry Network (RIN) is urging its members to do their research on political parties and candidates before casting their vote in the Queensland State Election set for this Saturday, October 31. We strongly encourage all members of the community to be informed voters at this election and understand the facts and what each candidate is supporting, particularly in relation to coal mining, METS, and the resources... sector. In the lead up to the State Election, RIN has been making representation on behalf of its members in a number of key areas including energy pricing, insurance, casual entitlements, regional connectivity, manufacturing, digital capabilities, and royalties. We have reminded all parties of the enormous contributions that mining, and by default the METS sector, makes to the state economy. Supporting the coal industry brings jobs and sustainability for the regions that mining supports including the Mackay-Isaac-Whitsunday METS community. Queensland has already successfully approved, built and operated more than 50 coal mines under the highest regulatory and environmental standards in the world. So make sure your vote counts towards a positive future for your electorate. To discuss further, members are encouraged to contact general manager Dean Kirkwood at [email protected] PLEASE SHARE WITH YOUR NETWORKS!
