23.01.2022 RRA General Manager Matt Curtis joined as an entry level trainee in 2005. He’d been unemployed for 12 months. I had a numeracy and literacy deficit and I slipped through the cracks at school so I left in Year 9. At 25 I didn’t have a set career path; it was day by day and whatever I could do to put a roof over my family’s head. If it wasn’t for RRA I would have been in the welfare system. We change people’s lives for the better. We create opportunities and develop our sta...ff. Matt developed his skills over 15 years moving through the ranks as a shift supervisor, leading hand, supervisor and area manager at RRA before he became General Manager in 2019. He has extensive experience in all aspects of waste operations from safety to driving machinery, site design and set up, financial controls, contracts and community development. "Seeing where Matt came from and where he is now is a good example, this is a long term career for me with RRA," Depot Hand Daniel Sommer explains.
21.01.2022 Meet Daniel: He joined the Resource Recovery MidCoast team in September 2018 after struggling to find work. He started in the Return and Earn team helping customers to recycle their beverage containers. Daniel jumped at the chance to upskill and learn more about waste management and has been working across The Green Shop, Community Recycling Centre and Transfer Station here at Tuncurry Waste Management Centre for several months. Now, Daniel has started his weighbridge quali...fication, which will allow him to work independently on the weighbridges across our MidCoast sites. I enjoy being part of a supportive team of colleagues, meeting new people every day and helping provide great customer service, "Daniel said. "I like knowing that by teaching customers how to reduce, reuse and recycle as much material as possible, we are avoiding a lot of it ending up in landfill, which is good for the environment Well done Daniel and keep up the good work.

20.01.2022 Earlier this year we partnered with Bikes 4 Life to repair bikes and other products and pack them up in a container to send across to our friends at East Kimberley Job Pathways in Kununurra WA. Last week the Revive team unpacked the container ready for reuse in the community (something the team at Revive were very excited about). The bikes will be given as rewards to local school kids with good attendance. Thanks to Bikes 4 Life, Wingecarribee Shire Council and the local Moss Vale community for your support and enabling this important work to continue.
20.01.2022 Some exciting changes are coming to the reuse store at the Lakes Creek Road Waste Management Facility in Rockhampton, Central Queensland. As our community moves towards zero waste there’s a real opportunity to do something exceptional with this site, and we’re looking forward to welcoming national social enterprise Resource Recovery Australia to take this popular site to the next level." said Cr Latcham. This organisation specialises in running reuse shops, and has an incredible track record from Noosa to Shellharbour. We are excited to work with Rockhampton Regional Council and contribute towards it’s zero waste by 2050 goal. Follow Reviva Ibis for all the latest.
19.01.2022 Meet Tina, one of our passionate Reviva Moss Vale customers. Tina visits every couple of weeks in search of books, trinkets and furniture. "I remember my first visit, my husband brought me along, and it was 2:30 in the afternoon. As soon as I walked in I said to him, 'we will have to come back tomorrow', it's so big I knew we wouldn't have enough time." "Now I bring everyone here, whenever someone visits I drag them along to Reviva. One person said to me 'it's the tip', but ...when they saw Reviva they changed their mind." When asked what was different about Reviva Tina was quick to explain: "The people are so friendly and always ask if they can help". Thanks for shopping at Reviva Moss Vale Tina, we look forward to seeing you again very soon.

08.01.2022 We operate on a #Waste2Wages model, where waste diverted is paying for employment and training opportunities, it’s a two for one! We employ locals who may be experiencing barriers to employment to divert waste from landfill. Moving waste out of landfill and into reuse or recycling has enormous benefits for the community, the environment and councils. Supporting Resource Recovery Australia and your local Reviva shop means supporting local jobs, training, upskilling, the environment and the community.

02.01.2022 This week is NAIDOC week, a chance to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. This year’s theme Always was, always will be recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. We are proud to celebrate this important week and the outstanding contribution of all our Indigenous team members around Australia.
01.01.2022 This week, our GM Matt Curtis, Reviva Moss Vale Manager Steve Glendenning and Customer Engagement Coordinator Amanda Henderson attended Coffs Waste Conference. The team enjoyed learning about the latest industry trends, networking with the waste community and sharing Resource Recovery Australia’s innovative #waste2wages business model. It was great to connect with our waste community face-to-face after COVID cancelled last year’s event. The team attended presentations from MR...A Consulting Group, NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA), CSIRO, Australian Bedding Stewardship Council and plenty of private sector industry experts. Thanks to Impact Environmental and Opal Cove Resort for hosting another great event.
