25.01.2022 Yesterday we had a poll on our instagram story, asking educators: does class size matter for student achievement? 65% of participants voted yes whilst 35% voted no. Prior to studying this topic in university, I also assumed that smaller classes equals greater academic success. Research shows that reducing class size leads to, in most cases, only small improvements in student achievement. Also, students in early grades appear to gain more from smaller classes than old...er students. In order for effective policy change, development for all staff involved will increase their knowledge of, and preparedness to use, techniques that are particularly suited to small class environments. If youre interested in finding out more about this topic, I have put a link to some research in our latest instagram story (swipe up on this picture). We hope everyone had a wonderful day!
