24.01.2022 Residents at our Mt St Vincent home in Ulverstone had great fun on their English themed day. Plenty of tea was consumed and the residents look as though they made great guards of all the afternoon tea treats!



24.01.2022 Coroneagh Park staff and residents in Penguin have been embracing the spring weather and making the most of the sun. Residents and staff dressed up for ‘Tradie Day’ and held a classic BBQ. The residents absolutely loved it and are looking forward to the BBQ season approaching!

23.01.2022 Ahoy, Me Hearties! Some residents at Tyler Village in Launceston have recently been inspired by Captain Jack Sparrow, creating pirate hats, setting off on a treasure hunt and finishing the day with a friendly sword fight. The residents had a fabulous time embracing their inner movie star!

23.01.2022 Our residents at Alcheringa in Swan Hill have been busy in the garden collecting supplies to create beautiful floral arrangements. Don’t they look fantastic!?



22.01.2022 Visitation Update: Due to the escalating Coronavirus situation in New South Wales (NSW), there are various locations that have been classified as high risk areas. Anyone who has spent time in any of these high risk areas must not enter any Respect residential aged care facility in the 14 days after doing so, because of their potential exposure to COVID-19. This includes staff, contractors and visitors. The high risk areas are:... Northern Beaches Local Government Area (on and since Friday 11 December). An end date for the Northern Beaches Local Government Area is not yet known and will depend on how quickly the outbreak is contained. Peakhurst: Gannons Park, Forest Rangers FC, Little Rangers session (Friday 11 December 4:30pm to 5:30pm) Penrith: Penrith RSL Club (Sunday 13 December, 1pm to 6pm) Kirribilli: Kirribilli Club (Monday 14 December 12pm to 3pm). The Peakhurst, Kirribilli and Penrith locations will be classified as high risk until 14 days after the last date/time listed for each, above (unless extended). Any person seeking to visit any Respect home who has been at any of the high risk areas during the affected times will not be permitted entry. Loved ones can be contacted by telephone and video chat facilities if they wish to do so. If you would like to speak with your loved one by video chat, please don’t hesitate to contact the home your loved one resides in so this can be arranged. We do not currently have any cases of coronavirus at any home, and will continue to closely monitor the situation and make changes to visitations as necessary. 20.01.2022 Residents at Alcheringa in Swan Hill recently received a beautiful letter and creation from the children at Lake Boga Preschool. The children decorated wooden spoons to create a ‘Spoonville’ in the garden. The children’s gesture certainly put a smile on the faces of our residents. Thankyou Lake Boga Preschool!

20.01.2022 Staff and residents at Wellington Views in Old Beach recently travelled back to the 80’s dressing up in brightly coloured clothes (with leg warmers of course) and playing 80’s themed music bingo. It was a great day!



18.01.2022 This week is Seniors Week in Tasmania (12-18 October 2020). This year’s theme is ‘Connections’, aiming to improve older people’s connections with their local community and neighbourhood. Whilst this year has been difficult for many older people to stay connected in traditional settings, Council on the Aging (COTA) are offering some fantastic community events and articles on their website. 17.01.2022 Residents and volunteers at Mt St Vincent in Ulverstone have been busy knitting and sewing together hundreds of squares to make blankets to donate to a local Tasmanian charity called 'Tassie Mum's'. Tassie Mum’s help to provide Tasmanian mothers, babies and children with essentials for a healthy life. Don’t those blankets look lovely and snuggly? Well done to everyone involved!

16.01.2022 Residents and staff at our Mt St Vincent home in Ulverstone recently dusted off some of their craziest outfits and had a day full of fun! The Crazy Day was filled with lots of laughs, singing and ‘minute to win it’ games.

16.01.2022 Our Alcheringa Men’s Group in Swan Hill have dug up some treasures and been busy reminiscing, sharing stories and polishing old silver wear. A bit of elbow grease (and some silvo) has done wonders for their treasures. They look fantastic!

16.01.2022 Residents at Tyler Village in Launceston have been playing balloon table tennis. Many residents have been revealing their competitive side!



14.01.2022 Today marks the 30th anniversary of the International Day of Older Persons. We love that we are surrounded by our elderly population every day. We learn so much from our residents and are very fortunate that we get to help them live their life to the fullest. 12.01.2022 It is great to see some of our residents at Tyler Village in Launceston getting involved in growing their own herbs and flowers in their portable garden. Fred is pictured watering the garden.

11.01.2022 Here is another glimpse into some of the wonderful Christmas displays and creations at our homes. It’s great to see so many staff and residents involved in Christmas decorating and activities. It is looking very festive!

11.01.2022 A huge thank you to everyone who recently participated in the 1950's ‘Rockabilly Day’ at Wellington Views in Old Beach. Our residents had a fantastic day and the costumes were great!

10.01.2022 Victorian Visitation Update: Due to the continuing improvement of the coronavirus situation in Victoria, we are pleased to announce the further easing of restrictions for our aged care homes in Victoria. Residents are now permitted to have two visitors per day. Visits must booked via the Respect visitor booking system (https://cov.respect.com.au/). Visitors must remain in the resident’s room during the visit, wear a mask and abide by social distancing rules. People under 16 a...re now permitted to visit aged care homes, and must comply with all visitation requirements. People over 12 should wear a mask, people under 12 may wear a mask, and people under two should not wear a mask. Please note that a current influenza vaccination is not a requirement for Victorian visitation. No person may enter the premises of a Respect site if they; Are unwell with flu-like symptoms, such as a cough, sore throat, runny nose, shortness of breath, or fever. Have had known contact in the last 14 days with a person who was a confirmed case of coronavirus (COVID-19). Have a temperature higher than 37.5 degrees. Loved ones can still be contacted by telephone and video chat facilities if they wish to do so. If you would like to speak with your loved one by video chat please don’t hesitate to contact the home your loved one resides in so this can be arranged. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.

10.01.2022 Online Visitor Booking System Reminder: Families and loved ones wishing to visit one of our homes must make a booking through our online booking system prior to the visit. The first step when booking a visit is to contact the home of your loved one and you will be given a code and instructions on how to make a booking through the website. We will continue to manage visits using our online booking system https://cov.respect.com.au/. Once in the booking system you will be take...n through a series of educational videos and risk assessment questions. Visitors, once on site, will be asked to: complete a risk-based questionnaire regarding recent travel and activities; have their temperature taken; be supervised on entry to ensure proper hand sanitisation; maintain social distancing from their loved one of 1.5 meters throughout the duration of their visit; only visit their loved one in their room and with no access to public or communal areas, or to visit other residents; and wear personal protective equipment when required. Please be advised that visitor bookings are not able to be made between 3pm Friday and 9am Monday. The system is locked between these times. If visitors wish to make bookings they must book in advance for weekend visitation. Thankyou for helping us to keep our resdients safe.

10.01.2022 Our residents at Mt St Vincent in Ulverstone and Tyler Village in Launceston are on the count down until Christmas. Residents have been making the most of the festive season decorating, carolling and indulging at Christmas functions. Residents at Mt St Vincent were even lucky enough to have an early visit from the man in the big red suit!

06.01.2022 Christmas came early for residents at St Ann’s! Last week students from St Michael's Collegiate School delivered residents at St Ann’s in Hobart a basket of Christmas treats. The student’s baked the treats and delivered them in containers which they had created using a 3D printer. ... The residents very much appreciated the thoughtful gifts. Thankyou!

05.01.2022 Visitation Update: Due to the escalating COVID-19 situation in South Australia (SA), the state has been classified as a hotspot and as a result anybody that has travelled from SA since Monday 9 November 2020 will not be permitted to enter any Respect aged care homes in either Tasmania or Victoria. For anybody that has recently travelled from South Australia and is unable to make a booking please contact the General Manager at the appropriate home.... Loved ones can be contacted by telephone and video chat facilities if they wish to do so. If you would like to speak with your loved one by video chat, please don’t hesitate to contact the home your loved one resides in so this can be arranged. We do not currently have any cases of coronavirus at any home, and will continue to closely monitor the situation and make changes to visitations as necessary.
