17.01.2022 Hi Everyone, We hope you are having a fantastic Easter break so far. We are sure many of you have seen the Government announcement in regards to term 2 schooling. If you have any questions please direct them to Mr Woodhouse and the team via the school Facebook pagehttps://www.facebook.com/RailwayEstate... or via email [email protected] The P&C look forward to supporting the RESS school community as best we can with this challenging situation. 13.01.2022 We hope you have had a wonderful Mother’s Day. In regards to the changes to school operating guidelines from Monday 11 May, here are a few details to consider p...rior to returning students to school. Please also see the attached photos for important information about social distancing in schools. This is for the safety and well-being of our entire school community. We appreciate your full support in following these new guidelines from the Queensland Government. From Monday 11 May, only the following students should be at school: students in Prep and Year 1 only students of parents or carers who work in essential roles and must attend their workplace and cannot access alternative care; and students identified as vulnerable (receiving services from Child Safety, including children who are subject to a child protection order). What if I have a child in Prep or Year 1 and a child in another year level? Only your child in Prep or Year 1 should attend school. For all other children the current home-based learning arrangements will remain in place. We understand that this may be difficult for some parents, however we appreciate your full support in following these new guidelines. What if one parent is an essential worker outside of the home but one parent is working from home? For students in Years 2 to 10, if there is a parent at home who is available to supervise their child or there is alternative care, students will complete learning and activities in their homes. What arrangements will apply for students in Year 2 to Year 6? Students in Years 2 to 6 will continue with learning at home arrangements at this time, unless they fall into one of the above categories and are attending school under the current arrangements. Where a student is learning at home, the parent or carer remains responsible for the student’s safety at home or elsewhere. What arrangements am I required to make for students who choose not to attend school (for Prep and Year 1)? It is recognised that some parents of Prep and Year 1 (also Kindy, Year 11 and Year 12) students may still wish to keep their children home from school due to concerns about COVID-19. This is an acceptable decision and your child won’t be marked as being absent, rather that they are learning from home. Have a talk with your child about a regular, safe collection point outside of the school grounds where you can meet them after school. It is essential that you keep your child home from school if they are unwell (even if just a sniffle). In accordance with Queensland Health Directions parents or carers of any child showing signs of illness will be asked to collect them immediately from the school. We thank you in advance for your patience over the first few days as we tweak this plan, and we value your support. https://qed.qld.gov.au//frequently-asked-questions-for-par
