25.01.2022 Hi everybody , yeah I know and sorry in advance. Life has been a bit crazy for me but I don’t think there’s many people who it hasn’t been a bit crazy for this year but thanks to the old mate Corona ( not the beer even though that’s another old mate of mine ) I’ve ended up having to finish a lot of jobs that I didn’t have time to get photos of half of them let alone post them on here as well as pack up my house and business and move back to Ballarat Victoria after nearly 30... years and the winters here still suck as much as they did when I left , then I’ve spent a few months living in some of my best and dearest friends shearing shed , yep I said shearing shed it’s been partly turned into a man cave with a insulated bedroom and on suite and actually wasn’t that uncomfortable only a little cold outside the bedroom but it was somewhere to stay and I enjoyed it most of the time so massive thanks to Hutch and Cin who always seem to be the big brother and sister that end having to look after me anyways I’m now set up in a new house with my long suffering but gorgeous partner Lisa who’s let me get a newer faster ute with a bigger motor ( very important for those rush delivery’s ) and I’ve also got a bigger workshop too ( very important because a bloke can never have a big enough shed ) so I’m back into it at least on a part time bassis as I’ve got a full time job too . I’ve included some photos of some of the jobs I did before I left and I’m sorry I haven’t got photos of them all as some where quite good but as you will see in the next post it’s full steam ahead once again , cheers to everyone that’s still here and to a few of you who have checked up on me to say Gday and say are you ok over the last 6 months too I’m quite humbled by the amount of people on here who have done that See more

25.01.2022 Antique Dresser Cute little 1920s/40s antique dresser I thought it was time to get back to my roots and did a couple of antique’s and this little beauty caught my eye so here it is Fully sanded back but I’ve left some of the marks and dings to give it that old school charm and style then several coats of shellac followed by a coat poly to seal it and give it some shine . Resprayed the handles and fittings and cleaned and fixed the locks so every draw is lockable and I have... a key . Would look great in and give a timeless look to any room ( Sold ) See more

25.01.2022 Ok while I’m on a roll here’s the latest customer job done for Loraine and Ron ( return customers) Beautiful old china cabinet not sure how long Loraine has had this but it was old beat up and black and wobbly , so I took it apart and stripped it back to reveal the old Jarrah underneath till it was all clean and smooth . The shelves were made of thin pine ply as was the back so I sourced new glass shelves and made up a new back panel from Jarrah to complete the look and to ...give it structural strength and because we all know good girls love their gold I stuck a little bit of gold leaf on the handle to break the wood and glass . Finished the whole lot off in a great new polish called Rubio Monocoat which looks beautiful but only comes in a flat or a satin second coat , this finish is a one or two coat finish and is the most durable hardwearing and easy to clean finish I’ve ever seen but it’s expensive but still beautiful , can’t wait to see Loraine’s face when she comes to pick it up See more

23.01.2022 Vintage sewing machine lamp/wall sconce Branching out adding to my style and range I’ve wanted to bring in some more vintage and industrial look to what I can do so here’s one of my first offerings and I hope you can appreciate the uniqueness and style of it , this is something I will be able to do more of and have available and can be made to be mounted to different backing boards , also can be mounted either direction or left sitting on a desk or table . Also I’m working on making them available through another provider down south $320

19.01.2022 Rustic box / Coffee table Had a great time building this one and I’m definitely happy with the finished piece. Seen some railway studs that I’ve never seen before on market place and thought they’d make great legs and started there with a picture in my mind of what would suit them , I built the box from scratch with recycled and weathered boards for that old rustic look topped of with a couple coats of shellac and clear poly to finish it of and added some tin to the short s...ides to break it up with a metal ring around the lid . The legs and indeed all metal parts have been treated with Black Magic to give them a antique look and coated in poly as well , would look great in front of the couch or at the foot of the bed or basically anywhere in the house ! ( added latch on lid this week ) Measuring 800mm length 520mm width 560mm height $380 See more

18.01.2022 Getting there , you lot are gunna spin out when you see what we’re using for legs too

16.01.2022 Vintage Dresser Had this one for awhile and thought it was time to give it the treatment so started of with some vintage pressed ceiling panels and cut and shaped and matched them up to the draws and a couple of panels for the sides too and stuck them on , quite a bit of a job to do and keep the pattern right at the same time !!! Then off to Tracy Fenton at The Up Cycled Barn in Port Kennedy to get hold of the Canterbury Blue chalk paint , great place to purchase your up cy...cling stuff and Tracey use’s her products with her own up cycles too so she can give you good advice about it . So I started off giving the whole thing two coats of dark Phoenix for the shading under the top coat , the top coat is Harper Blue and it’s all dry brushed to be able to slowly add it so you can shade and still see the Phoenix under it , another long job then finished it all of in a coat of Canterbury’s clear wax to seal and protect it all , very very happy with end results. All the insides off the drawers are painted in white to keep them tidy and nice and for easy cleaning then back to Tracy for the knobs which I spent an hour trying to make up my mind and ended up getting her to chose cos I couldn’t make my mind up ( yes she sells them too and if your looking for something you can look up her Facebook page Tracy’s Knobs and Knockers ) Measurements are 1580mm length 500mm wide 890mm high $550 ( SOLD ) See more

12.01.2022 ( Sold ) Vintage Farmhouse Table I’ve been wanting to build one like this for a while now so when the base came up I grabbed it straight away , after some quick repairs I gave it a base coat of Phoenix followed by Vintage Cream from Canterbury Blue before shabbying it up ( I had added some wheels to it for something a little different but it was just way to high so they came off ) When it came to the top I was trying to mimic a table from my childhood so I basically found t...he oldest mongrel boards I could find and started there , they were chockers with nails so I thought what the hell I’ll just leave them in and make a feature of them , I also left it rough in places and didn’t get crazy about getting it flat so it would look properly used and well aged and just lightly sanded those parts to make sure there’s no splitters and the like as well as filling the large cracks and missing chunks with a black tinted epoxy before hitting it with a charcoal stain followed by a couple of coats of shellac and then a clear which I hope brings off the look of a aged and well used old farmhouse table top that has just been well used . Measurements are 2230 length 1110 width 800 height It seats 6 people or even 8 comfortably $400 See more

12.01.2022 Yaaaaaaaaay Saturday night glue ups while the crickets on , gotta love’em

09.01.2022 Vintage Industrial Coffee Table / Chest Should of finished this on the weekend but I just got my flash new copper patina affect on Friday and seeing as I know I’m the only person in Aus who has this stuff at the moment ( it’s taken five months and jumping through a few hoops to get it ) I had to strip it back and start again so I could use it and I glad I did Started off with an old navy chest and stripped it back to mostly bare metal and gave it the Black Magic treatment ...to give it that old metal look , then stripped parts of it back again to hit it with the copper patina and finished it off with a spray on clear to make it that look stay and shine . I’ve lined the inside and lid with recycled wood and coated that with shellac and a clear poly over that to give a great looking and clean storage area plus a matching bar to hold the lid open for easy access to the interior and fitted a brass latch to finish it off the look then raided my once extensive collection of legs to get it off the floor to coffee table height ( they can be easily unscrewed to sit it on the floor if desired ) Looks fantastic and would look great in the lounge, bedroom or in any room in the house , a truly unique bespoke piece !!! Measurements are 900mm length 470mm width 460mm height 250mm deep $420 See more

09.01.2022 And as promised here we are , live edge dining table made of a full slab of WA Marri , beautiful hard wood local to Southwestern Australia . I’ve had this slab for about 3 years and had it half done before I got busy with other jobs and had to put it away but I wasn’t going to leave it over there when I moved back to Vic so it went into the container till I got a new place and time to finish it and here we are . Sanded baby butt smooth and epoxy resin filled I decided to sta...bilise the cracks with metal staples instead of the usual wooden bow ties as it’s more my style and just looks a damn lot cooler and the whole lot has been coated in RubioMonocoat which when harder properly will repel water and heat so you don’t have to worry about those sort of marks ( but I don’t recommend putting anything hot on any table ) it’s a satin finish basically a low sheen and is a heck of a lot easier to keep clean . The legs are steal and made by me not bought , they’re 100 mill x 50 mill so they’re bigger and more solid than the ones you buy at Bunnings or on line and I’ve also crafted up some adjustable feet that sit under them nicely and are hardly noticeable and very simple to use if your floor isn’t the best . All in all a beautiful dinning table that is designed as an 8 seater but fits 10 comfortably and easy and will never be out of style or never fail to attract looks and comments of appreciation. $3500 ( Sold ) See more

09.01.2022 Finally !!! It’s old , lumpy , grumpy , full of nails and I hate it for the amount of work I’ve had to put into it but that‘s everything an old farmhouse table top should be tomorrow we’ll see how it looks on the legs when I put them together

08.01.2022 Time to get rid of my own personal dresser , did it up a couple years ago and it still looks great Painted body and drawer sides in a darker blue ( can’t remember the name of it ) and took the drawer fronts and the top back to bare wood and gave them a couple of coats of shellac then a clear and you gotta admit it’s come up a fantastic colour, I think the wood is an Asian teak but I’m not sure . Measurements are Length 1500mm Width 500mm... Height 900mm $200 See more

08.01.2022 Hi hope everyone had a great Xmas , just thought I’d post a little something that I did for Lisa for Xmas as I was really busy for time doing other presents. She’s been telling me off about looking after her grandfathers tools and not to wreck or lose them for so long I thought bugger it I’m gunna fix them up and give them a quick polish and frame the buggers for her Xmas present only place they would fit on the wall was near the front door so I thought I would make it a ...bit bigger and throw some hooks on there too , so got that all done and hanging on the wall and I didn’t really want to take it off again so I just wrapped it up while it was hanging there for her to find Xmas morning, there’s a couple of tools missing hence the gap in the middle but I’ve found one of them so it’ll be going on soon as well , so happy holiday to everyone and I’ll post some more soon See more

07.01.2022 Big Happy Bday to my beautiful partner Lisa for yesterday and as I know she loves it when I make her presents I nearly drove myself nuts with this one but the end result is a fantastic steel rose or blacksmiths rose as they are mostly called . This was a whole new area for me and it actually took a bit to get done , first I had no gas for my oxy so no way to heat the metal and form it . Not to be deterred I ended up building a little forge in the old veggie garden which w...orked surprisingly well I had made the leaves and petals out of an old car panel I had laying around and reo bar with bolts welded on for the stem . After getting it hot and forming it to shape I brushed on heaps of old motor oil and reheated it again and repeated this a few times to get the even colour then cleaned it up with steal wool . To add a bit of bling and contrast and because we all know good girls love their gold I used gold leaf on the edges of the leaves and petals and then decided to do a bit of the stem and the thorns as well , it’s the first time I’ve tried gold leafing and it’s not that easy but not to hard to learn , the board I’ve used to mount it was a special bit of Jarah that I’d been saving for a special occasion and this definitely was the occasion, just wire brushed it and a couple of coats of shellac then heaps of coats of clear for it and the rose to and the results are stunning . For obvious reasons I love this rose and it’s been possibly my most satisfying build See more

06.01.2022 Entry way / Window seat bench This was just gunna be a simple one for a mud room buuuut I got a bit carried away and this is what we ended up with so it went this way , first I added the features to the draw fronts then gave it a couple of good coats of white before I lost the plot and got the gold leaf out and went crazy then followed it up with a antiquing glaze to give it that vintage look then planed and stained a couple of boards up for the top , a good bit of staining and finished the lot off with a couple of coats of clear and a new set of handles to complete the lot . Would look fantastic at either entry way with storage for shoes but would also go great under a window or at the foot of the bed ( SOLD )

06.01.2022 Nice little bench I’ve put together for Dorali , made to suit her existing dining setting . Dorali was able to chat with me over messenger and easily communicate her needs and have a big part in getting what she was looking for such as having the X added and to the same size as her existing dining chairs and the all white paint job to match it all together , I’ll be delivering it tomorrow and by all the happy gifs she replied with I’d say she’s pretty excited

06.01.2022 Now if that ain’t one cool farmhouse table base ( with wheels ) then I don’t know one that is now to make the top

05.01.2022 Hi everyone, just letting you know what’s up , I know I’ve not been posting much lately but there’s some good reasons so let’s start with the name change. For the last few months I’ve been working hard to set myself up to hit the big time and go pro , yes I am now a fully legit and registered business. This has involved many hoops and hurdles which I have managed to jump through and over quite successfully , yep I’m an athlete How ever it won’t change the service I provide to my customers and friends so get out there and spread the word ( and the page ) that I’m open for business and raring to go to help create or sell that bespoke custom piece or indeed to restore that loved family item

04.01.2022 Oooooo just tried something new this might have to be used in the very near future
