25.01.2022 Chester Hill Station desperately needs an accessibility upgrade and trains to the City via Inner West Line. The NSW Government's Future Transport Strategy also ...lacks clarity regarding the future of rail services for Chester Hill. Write to the Mayor/Deputy Mayor and Canterbury-Bankstown Councillors asking them to help stop over-development in Chester Hill https://www.cbcity.nsw.gov.au/council/mayor-councillors Send us a message if you need help with your letter Sign the petition to Save Chester Hill https://actionnetwork.org/petitions/save-chester-hill/

25.01.2022 Thank you Lynda Voltz MP for highlighting that 9 stations west of Bankstown will lose all trains to City due to Metro Southwest

25.01.2022 Direct Trains to City via Lidcombe removed on 20 October 2013 as part of NSW Government plans to privatise the railway and support over-development along the Bankstown Line

24.01.2022 Cumberland City Council has agreed to study the feasibility of the Pippita Rail Trail (Active Transport Corridor) proposal. We believe that the proposal complements EcoTransit's Pippita CityExpress Proposal for a 19 minute express train from Lidcombe to Central via a rebuilt Pippita station and Olympic Park. What do you think? Our community survey for Pippita is at: https://restoreinnerwestline.org.au/pippita/

21.01.2022 We support the City of Parramatta's calls for the priotisiation of Light Rail from Parramatta to Sydney Olympic Park. We believe that investment in new light ra...il services for the Greater Parramatta Olympic Park area is much more worthwhile than replacing an existing train service with just another train. https://www.cityofparramatta.nsw.gov.au//lord-mayor-calls-

20.01.2022 Throwback to when the NSW Government announced plans to cut the T3 in half to remove all trains to City for up to 19,000 commuters west of Bankstown! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXg_Usf1VRU

20.01.2022 HAVE YOUR SAY ON CARTER STREET PRECINCT REVISED MASTERPLAN https://www.planningportal.nsw.gov.au/CarterStreet We believe that the Carter Street Precinct should be designed to not increase pressure on services and infrastructure to the south of the project area in Cumberland LGA or worsen traffic congestion on Parramatta Road. The Precinct should future-proof a corridor for the expansion of the Parramatta Light Rail Stage 2 from Carter Street to Lidcombe/Parramatta Road/Strath...field. The Department of Planning is encouraged to work with Transport for NSW, Sydney Olympic Park, Cumberland Council, and Parramatta Council in rebuilding the former Pippita Station to the south east of the Precinct. Pippita Station should be part of a Lidcombe - Pippita - Olympic Park - Pippita - Strathfield - Central express train, and also the disused former Abbattoir line bridge (immediately west of the existing Olympic Park line) should form a new Rail Trail/Active Transport corridor. 19.01.2022 **T5 Cumberland Line** It has been brought to our attention that the T5 Cumberland Line may be phased out once Sydney Metro City & Southwest opens. We have seen... a government plan for the removal of the direct train from Liverpool to Parramatta in the Sydney Trains timetable to be introduced over the next 6 years. Western Sydney residents need more trains to Parramatta and Liverpool not less services. More information will be made available once clarification is provided by Transport Minister Andrew Constance and/or Transport for NSW.

16.01.2022 There's no guarantee that Chester Hill will have train services in the long term future yet property developers want to build 18 storeys with 633 new units at Chester Square. 12.01.2022 Original plans for Sydney Metro Southwest included using Lidcombe station as a terminal for Metro. Terminating Bankstown Line trains at Lidcombe in 2013 was early preparation for Metro conversion and increased development in Lidcombe, Berala, Regents Park...

10.01.2022 Metro Southwest Extension Bankstown to Liverpool in Doubt 26 November 2020 Thanks to the efforts of local residents and Bankstown MP Tania Mihailuk, the communi...ty of Yagoona including Gazzard Park has been saved from over-development plaguing the Sydenham to Bankstown Metro corridor. The Restore Inner West Line & Save T3 Bankstown Line campaign has received confirmation from Transport for NSW that Yagoona is not part of the Sydney Metro City & Southwest project. Prior to the 2019 NSW Election, Transport Minister Andrew Constance indicated that the Sydney Metro City & Southwest could be extended to Yagoona as the design of the Bankstown Interchange was proving difficult. The T3 Bankstown Line was selected for conversion into Sydney Metro due to its brownfields and property development opportunities. Future train services for stations west of Bankstown however continue to remain doubt with Transport for NSW yet to announce whether 19,000 commuters will have to interchange to reach the City Circle. Draft options for Sydney Trains services west of Bankstown do not include direct trains to the Inner West and City for all stations. The NSW Government’s announced extension of the Sydney Metro Southwest between Bankstown and Liverpool (via a new corridor not the existing T3 Line) also appears to have been cancelled. Transport for NSW has indicated that it is investigating the option of trackless trams and rapid bus services to operate between Bankstown and Liverpool. With much of the proposed Metro Southwest Extension Bankstown to Liverpool scoping area subject to flooding, local residents have previously expressed amenity concerns about a viaduct Metro line along Milperra and Newbridge Roads. Restore Inner West Line & Save T3 Bankstown Line continues to call for improvements to public transport including the restoration of the direct train to City Circle via Regents Park (Inner West Line) from both Liverpool and Bankstown. We remain concerned about the conversion of Sydenham to Bankstown into Metro and the ensuing over-development along the T3 Bankstown Line including at Chester Hill. Signaling upgrades on the T3 Bankstown Line with the ability to deliver trains every 2 to 3 minutes should be implemented as the alternative to the Metro conversion which forces commuters to undertake multiple interchanges to reach the City Circle. 09.01.2022 7 years ago the NSW Government started its plan to cut our train services in order to hand over the railway to property developers and private interests. But thanks to your support, we have made sure that Gladys Berejiklian will have a fight on her hands if she continues attacking our local communities. The 2013 timetable removing the Inner West Line's Liverpool via Regents Park train including the cutting of the Bankstown Line at Lidcombe was early preparation for the orig...inal plan to convert the line into Sydney Metro. We now know that Transport for NSW briefed Gladys Berejiklian about property development and land use opportunities along the Bankstown Line (including west of Bankstown) prior to announcing Sydney Metro Southwest. We have forced the NSW Government to backtrack on plans to replace trains with buses west of Bankstown. As a result of the community action over the past 7 years and the recent Parliamentary Inquiry into the Sydenham-Bankstown Metro, Transport for NSW has admitted that the direct train to City via Lidcombe (former Inner West Line) can be restored using currently available infrastructure. 04.01.2022 Property developers like Joseph Alha in Gladys Berejiklian's office isn't a one off. 02.01.2022 The 'Transport in the Cumberland Community Research Report' has found the NSW Government's 2013 timetable change with the removal of Inner West Line services from Berala, Regents Park, Chester Hill and stations west of Bankstown to be highly unpopular. Cumberland residents (being from west of Bankstown) were also highly critical of the Metro Southwest's plan to truncate the T3 Bankstown Line and remove direct train services to the City Circle via Sydenham. We would like to thank Cumberland Council for supporting our calls to bring back direct train services to the City Circle.
