24.01.2022 I will be away from next Thursday 17th September until Tuesday 29th for some super exciting new training I am undertaking (and a couple of sneaky days by the water afterwards) However of course, this means I will be closed during this time to take appointments. 21.01.2022 ~Veggie garden dinner haul~ I love eating things from our garden that we have grown. Sometimes they're ugly (check out those sprouting caulis) but they still taste great. The best part, they have had so much love put into them. Did you know that living things have a vibration and that vibration can change depending on what's going on around them? So much research has been done around this, maybe you've seen the tests where plants are either spoken to kindly or mean and the growth rate is completely different (the plants spoken to mean start to die ). Knowing that you've nurtured this food that goes into your body makes it so much better.

21.01.2022 Relaxation tips for your body. It is so important to become more aware of your body, how it feels (tense/relaxed), where it is sitting in space (Are you sitting and leaning to one side, do you have your head reaching forward, are you crossing your legs). Being able to move fluidly in your joints will help keep mobility into older age, increase blood flow and lymphatic flow.



21.01.2022 I LOVE this! You have to start somewhere, so be brave enough to do it and suck and then get better as you keep going. I'm currently being brave enough to suck at learning the gymnastics rings (which I could never do even as a kid). The awesome Peta Dempster Personal Training is guiding me through the sucky and you know what, I'm actually getting better I've already done things I could never do as a kid so I edge closer to 40. If you come to me don't be afraid to share the ...sucky - maybe you feel you're sucking at diet changes or moving your body or taking your supplements. Great! We have a starting point! Never be afraid to start, I will be there to help you along the way. Also, if you see me on the rings at the gym, know that yep it's not pretty but it's better than it was last week and if you feel like you could never do it, I'm telling you that you can, you just need to suck first

19.01.2022 Time out Why do most women feel so damn guilty about taking time out? Because we are the nurturers, the carers, the glue that keeps the family together. It's how we are born, it's our hormone levels that make us this way to be able to care for our young when they are born. It's in-built in us to keep our species alive and what a gift it is that we've been given. However to fulfil that role we must also take care of ourselves. ... I know you've all heard this a million times: You can't pour from an empty cup You must first take care of yourself before you take care of others Put your own oxygen mask on before helping others Fill your own bucket first Stop doing and being every thing for everyone Do I need to go on? I know you've heard it, but do you do it? Have you actually experienced it how it fills to fill your own cup first (literally and metaphorically in some cases)? No? Well why not? What is stopping you, because I guarantee you that for 95% of you, the thing that is stopping you IS YOU! Not anyone or anything else. How does that feel to know that there is literally nothing in your way but your own thoughts and self-judgement? Is it uncomfortable, is it icky, does it feel disappointing, does it feel freeing, does it feel scary? GOOD! When we feel uncomfortable, change can happen, when you're comfortable nothing will change - I mean why would it, you're comfortable why put yourself into uncomfortable right? When you know that you are the only person standing in your own way, then you can take action, because you're not waiting on someone or something else to change first. Yep I already hear ALL the excuses coming up inside your head: I can't make changes to my diet because my children/husband won't like the food I don't have time to make myself breakfast because I need to feed the kids I couldn't go away by myself because my family will fall apart without me My husband wouldn't do the jobs and I'd come home to more work Cont'd in comments...

17.01.2022 Breakfast It seems breakfast is the hardest meal for people to change when I talk to them in clinic. We are so used to eating cereal or toast for breakfast that it's hard to think what else we could eat. I mean, we're supposed to eat cereal or toast for breakfast right??... WRONG! Most cereals are high in sugar and contain little protein or essential fats. They don't fuel your body for long enough so leave you craving later in the day. When I talk to people about having salad or veggies for breakfast they look at me like I'm crazy But why does the time of day matter? It doesn't! We're just conditioned this way and it's just a case of breaking that habit. Here's mine this morning - garden greens, radish, bacon and avocado.

16.01.2022 Don't worry Dad's it's only a bit of fun, all us Mums know you have given the kids *some* good traits But seriously though, it's school holidays for most now, it's getting eerily close to Christmas, things feel busy and hectic and the kids just won't stop asking for food or saying they're bored ALREADY! This is a wonderful but crazy time of year and of course 2020 has been a very different year for many with lots of Mums and Dads suddenly becoming teachers (not a career ch...oice I ever wanted!), lots of people's life situations changing with losing jobs, moving houses, moving states, being separated from loved ones. Take the time to BREATHE. As always this time of year I have had a large intake of exhausted Mums. What's the first thing I say to every one of them? Recognise that it's hard being a parent and go easy on yourself. Make sure you nourish yourself just like you do your kids (why the hell do you always leave yourself last??). You are worthy and deserving of caring for yourself, and even if you don't feel you are worthy, do it anyway and see what happens. Write down a list of all the wonderful things you can think of that has happened this year. Think hard, I KNOW there are some. Physically write it down, keep it somewhere and when things feel shitty look back on that list and see the moments of magic you've had in your life (this could be while you're locked in the bathroom while the kids are banging on the door... I mean things aren't all rainbows and lollipops, right but do the best with what you have )

13.01.2022 People I meet when I'm away often ask me why I live in Roma. It's so far away, there's nothing there, you must get bored...... This is where I am staying while I complete my course. What do you see in this photo? A huge apartment block in front of me right? BUT do you also see the huge expansive sky above that building and the trees on either side? Perhaps you notice the plants on the balconies. It's all about your perception. What you choose to focus on. As a sit here, it's 6am and already I hear plenty of traffic and construction BUT I also hear birds chirping, feel the cool morning breeze and see the insects buzzing around. I walk to and from my course each day which is just over 1km away. On the way there's traffic, people, buildings, buses, and generally busyness. BUT there is also the warmth of the sun, interesting plants and flowers, people sitting in cafes laughing. What is focus on will attract more to yourself. I love being in the city, particularly this part that is full of cool cafes, health food stores, yoga studios, massage and osteo, all the things I love. BUT I also love being at home in the still and the space. Where things are slower and give space for more thinking and just being. So remember to focus on the good bits of life and don't worry so much about the other bits. See the beautiful flowers in bloom not the buildings. Feel the fresh air and ease not focus on the things you 'may be missing out on'. Be present in each moment and really feel that place and time. The more present we are, the healthier our mind and body is. Our digestion, our nervous system, our circulation, our brain function all benefit. What are you choosing to focus on today?

This one has been on my wish list for a while now and what better time than my impending birthday to get it AND it completely fits my delusion that I actually belong on a tropical island, when in fact I live basically in the desert My kids were complaining about me always getting new plants and my brother said to them, let your mother have as many plants as she likes because it makes her less crazy The crazy is still alive and wel...l but at least I have an even fuller heart while being crazy with my plants around. I am getting quite the collection up and look forward to getting closer to an inside jungle. This is such a great feature and will prevent you running out of your supplements, you can order whenever you like! Unfortunately when that newsletter was sent out, an inbox marked it as spam and that is why I have not been able to send out emails. 02.01.2022 So while I'm away learning at a course that is a little different and a brand new concept (the first time ever this course has run and a newly developed technique!) My brain is full after day 3 and I'm only halfway through this intensive. So it's time for a little 15 minutes of quiet while I face mask and look like skin is peeling off my face it's an amazing vitamin C mask from Alchemy. Just a reminder that I am checking emails while I'm away when I can but I might be slow to respond. From Wednesday afternoon I will not be contactable until Monday because I'm running out of the city to get off grid time for 4 days to reset my tired brain from so much new information and city busyness.
