Fab agenda, venue, renowned speakers, interesting panelists,entertaining evening event raising about $4000, and the engaging and efficient Gina leading us through it all so beautifully. Wonderful to catch up with people I hadn't seen for a year or much more! Food exceptional. When's the next one?

20.01.2022 I finally met the amazing Gina! 5 members of the Hills group had dinner at the Reel and Gina graced the table on her way somewhere - oh yes Seymour, with other drop-in spots recently in Canberra and Hobart occasionally - all anti-poverty related trips. And she loves chocolate. Go Gina!

15.01.2022 Another Action meeting is on Wed 26th March in Belgrave. [[email protected]] Did you know immunisation prevents between 2 and 3 million deaths each year? Each year, 7 million children under the age of 5 die, with the two biggest killers being pneumonia and diarrhoea. Both pneumonia and diarrhoea can be prevented by immunisation.... The GAVI Alliance works with developing countries to strengthen health systems and increase immunisation coverage. In the lead up to World Immunisation Week we are calling on the Australian Government to make an additional contribution of AU$ 75 million per year for 2014-2016 to the GAVI Alliance so that all children in our region can be up to date with vaccinations. 06.01.2022 Great conference call last Wednesday night at Ems'! Speaker Mark Dybul from the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria, inspired us to write to our MPs, urging more investment in reducing the vulnerability of the poorest on the planet, to these preventable and treatable diseases. As he said, "Invest now, or pay forever". And we're asking our government to pledge to contributing $US375 million over 3 years. This equates to each Ozzie paying just over $5 a year. 02.01.2022 Well we did it - a team of 6 people, 4 walking the 5 klms and 2 brave fit souls ran the 15 klms! Cool weather, VERY early start and lots of support made it a breeze for this walker who made it in just over 1 hour. Thanks Jordan for all your help and encouragement.
