16.01.2022 Important tips on how to correctly hold a kettlebell in the rack position in 3 easy steps: 1. Keep your wrist straight. 2. Elbow tucked into ribs (not shown here) 3. Bar handle presses against chest ... The goal of the "rack" position is to hold the kettlebell in a comfortable position without exerting much energy. This is an important movement as it sets up the beginning position for other exercises (squats, overhead presses, etc.) Note: If you are new to this movement, your forearms may bruise in the beginning due to the weight of the kettlebell. Aim is to get the highest score in 4 minutes on the rower. Adam recently smashed the record taking it up to 2655 points. Congratulations Adam! How long will he hold the top spot?
13.01.2022 Tips for Mastering a Lunge The lunge is fundamental lower body movement that should be mastered before adding weights. Above are two examples of a lunge. The image on the right, is the incorrect way. Looking at this image we can see the knee cave in, and when this happens it puts a lot of stress on the knee joint. If this is done repetitively with incorrect form it will only the for injuries. ... When lunging, focus on keeping your knee directly over your foot with a slow and steady movement. Key tip: the mid section is where the most issues arise during movement, so in order to nail your technique, at the bottom of the lunge hold for 3 seconds before returning to the start position. 09.01.2022 Motivation is great. Generally it's what gets you started, however, the downside of motivation is that it is temporary as it often fades in time. This is why we cannot solely rely on motivation to achieve our goals! The key to consistency and change has and always will be discipline. There will be days when you feel like you cannot be bothered, and these are the days that motivation will fail you. Discipline, however, is making a commitment to yourself to execute the actions... you need to take on a daily basis to get you to your goal; regardless of whether you "feel like it" or not. Think of all the successful people you aspire to in life. They didn't get where they are by solely being motivated. They got there through discipline, dedication, and hard work. No doubt there were periods where they had lost their motivation all together and didn't feel like it, but they remained disciplined and reached their goals one step at a time. So if you have a goal that you are serious about, make a realistic action plan of what you need to do on a daily basis to get there. One that you can stick to. Get up, show up, give it your best, and repeat. 99% of the time you will feel better after you have honoured your commitment, and you will be well on your way to achieving the goal you have set for yourself. It definitely isn't an easy road achieving your goals; but the time and dedication you put in will be worth it once you get where you want to be. See more

08.01.2022 Experiencing knee pain during squatting? Here is a quick tip that may help you. Firstly, if you have chronic knee pain, you should consult a physiotherapist to get to the root cause of the problem, and get clearance to exercise. ... If you have more of an acute knee pain issue during squatting, it could be because your are descending incorrectly. Technically, most squatting variations are knee/quad dominant, so you still want to begin the move with the hip hinge back, and THEN drop straight down. If you let the knees shift forward first, then you immediately place a lot of stress on them. By shifting your hips back, you are able to distribute the weight much more evenly throughout your hips and legs. By doing this is, it takes a lot of pressure off your knees.
