24.01.2022 The advertising banner/flag spike in the background appears a very likely culprit to this smashed PVC on a commercial verge in Wangara. Nothing a telescopic coupling cant resolve.

23.01.2022 These fencing contractors, on a commercial premises have poured their concrete plynth around the mainline, cut all the wiring and left. We like a challenge!

21.01.2022 This is amazing

21.01.2022 The effort that somebody has put into doing this completely wrong is astounding and would have cost more time and money than just doing it properly. At the top left is the 'master valve' to the other side of the driveway

20.01.2022 I got a cheaper quote for my new retic. The cheaper quote;

20.01.2022 This leak had gone unnoticed by the owners as the water was bubbling away inside a closed valve box and not coming to the surface and the pressure was unaffected. The depressed ground and edging pavers lead me to open the box to find a significant leak, thankfully only on a station line and repaired quite easily.

19.01.2022 Please note that the earliest bookings we currently have available are 12-14 days away, fully-booked until then. Dad and I worked through the entire Christmas period and have still not managed to catch up. Thank you for your understanding.

19.01.2022 It is exceptionally important in Perths waxy, repellent sands to check for water penetration and retention. Below is an excellent example of a system that performs well, but its watering hydrophobic soil that needs significant improvement.

19.01.2022 A faulty controller in Landsdale to be replaced to ensure the system is all ready to go for Spring.

18.01.2022 Another faulty controller replaced with a quality Rain Bird unit in Ocean Reef.

18.01.2022 A live 240V connection to a transformer sitting in a shallow puddle of water inside a plastic box. (What could go wrong?) Thanks to Caporn Electrical for making this safe and replacing this horrible set-up and the controller with a Rain Bird ESP-Me.

17.01.2022 Just replaced a failed solenoid coil for Bloomin Good Succulents in Wanneroo.

17.01.2022 A landscaper had previously worked on this solenoid valve and the owner reported the pressure was low following. We opened the valve and cant believe it was even working with the spring lodged sideways - havent seen this before.

17.01.2022 Another faulty controller to be replaced. This one is hard-wired to 240v, not plugged into a powerpoint, so we will work alongside Caporn Electrical to fit a replacement Rain Bird ESP-TM2.

17.01.2022 Saved this injured baby magpie and dropped it to the vets between jobs, all part of the day. Bird Doctor?

16.01.2022 PLEASE don't build a reticulation main line, run the wires loose through the ground with twisted connections, then plant a tree on top of it...

15.01.2022 Fencing contractors on this commercial premises in Wangara have knowingly smashed apart the reticulation, broken wires and concreted in a solenoid valve. Unfortunately they were paid in full some weeks ago, leaving the owners to foot their damage.

15.01.2022 This is the standard of reticulation you can expect from the average landscaper. No reticulation professional would install 8mm drip line and you can rest assured we wouldnt use drip line at all. Aside from looking shocking, it is inefficient, difficult to check and as per the photo it doesnt allow long term plant growth without being destroyed.

15.01.2022 A DIY system with no backflow prevention, a poor quality Master Valve and to top it off they have planted a palm tree on top of the main line. Guaranteed future problems here.

14.01.2022 After multiple DIY attempts the owner called us in to sort this out for him, a new Rain Bird DV100 solenoid valve installed for reliability.

14.01.2022 Dad and I were asked to investigate high water use at a vacant commercial premises. We located the Master solenoid and found the tap supplying the system was leaking quite badly unnoticed inside the valve box and had been for some months. We turned the tap off to stop the leak and referred the Real Estate agents to a licensed plumber to resolve.

14.01.2022 Older/cheaper controllers would blow a fuse and stop working entirely. The Rain Bird ESP-Me will alarm on the faulty solenoid, and continue to water the remaining stations. During a holiday this could be the difference between a dead/dry zone and losing all lawns and gardens. We attended, confirmed station 1 solenoid coil had a low ohms reading, replaced the coil and reset the controller.

13.01.2022 As concrete/aggregate paths and driveways are becoming more popular, so are access issues around reticulation. We would never install poly-pipe under concrete or paving, and certainly not directly into concrete like this. Please be mindful to always include pressure-rated PVC pre-lays and/or marked stormwater for future access if required.

13.01.2022 "I just pay a handyman to fix up my sprinklers" We can tell!

13.01.2022 This is a common fault seen on cheap quality sprinklers, the plastic body degrades in the sun and literally falls apart. We have never seen this fault on Rain Bird or Toro popups.

13.01.2022 Located and replaced a failed Bermad solenoid valve with a quality Rain Bird DV100 solenoid valve.

11.01.2022 This entire system in The Vines has been designed incorrectly. With the horrendous mains water pressure to the area this is the result. We have recommended the supply is improved/resolved or alternatively the entire system redesigned and reinstalled properly. This has never, and would never cover.

10.01.2022 This Hunter X-Core was dialled to Off over Winter but didnt register the position and continued to run, as per the screen display. This has cost the owners a significant amount of wasted water, as well as killing off two grass trees that were waterlogged. To be replaced with a superior, reliable Rain Bird ESP-Me.

10.01.2022 The Rain Bird ESP-TM2 is perfect for tight spots, simple to program and comes with an easy-to-read backlit display.

10.01.2022 In Mullaloo today we located 3 Bermad solenoid valves with 2/3 faulty/failing via a jammed pin - a common occurence with this particular valve. Both faulty coils replaced with a Richdel/Irritrol solenoid coil - immediately fixing the issue. We do not use these valves due to the high frequency we encounter this issue with the coils.

09.01.2022 Another faulty controller replaced with a reliable, easy to use Rain Bird ESP-TM2.

09.01.2022 The local council removed this verge tree in Madeley, damaging the owners reticulation and leaving the ground messy and uneven a day before the property settlement. We attended urgently, resolved the issue and tidied up to allow settlement to proceed tomorrow.

09.01.2022 It never ceases to amaze us what we find customers are charged good money for, by supposedly qualified Retic installers. An Alderdice Vertical Check Valve insta...lled horizontally in the discharge pipe not vertically in the suction pipe. For all your bore repairs deal with licensed Drillers. http://aquariandrilling.com.au//perth-bore-water-maintena/ See more

08.01.2022 Poly-pipe under paving, under pressure is never a good idea - this is why.

08.01.2022 This is why you dont plant Ficus trees in the ground. This is a root from the 50 year old giant Ficus in our parking lot. Its busted a hole in one of our mains water pipes. This isnt the first time either!

08.01.2022 Another faulty controller replaced with a quality Rain Bird ESP-Me today in Stirling.

08.01.2022 Less than a week left until Winter restrictions take effect.

07.01.2022 We were surprised by this reticulation, or classic abstract art? Funnily enough this has worked for over 30 years, one of the valves had started making a squealing noise indicating it was time for an update. All 4 original red Hugall and Hoille valves replaced with Rain Bird DV100s.

07.01.2022 This Hunter X Core in Aveley had a completely scrambled display and was intermittently outputting voltage across multiple station terminals. Due to space constraints between the meter box and a down pipe this will be replaced with a Rain bird ESP-TM2, by a qualified electrician - as it is hard-wired into 240v.

06.01.2022 Another faulty controller to be replaced with a Rain Bird ESP-Me

05.01.2022 Planting trees directly on top of pipework is never a good idea. This is a large Yucca stump which has partially grown over the water meter, the submersible bore pump lid, solenoid valves, main line and station lines. Worse yet; the Yucca appears to have pulled apart a tee-piece directly under the middle of the stump and it has been receiving extra water via this leak for at least two weeks before it was noticed

04.01.2022 Another quality Rain Bird ESP-Me to replace yet another faulty Hunter X-Core. This Hunter had the standard failed, sticky/non-responsive dial along with a screen that occasionally blanked out.

04.01.2022 Pro-tip; Dont plant palm trees on top of your valves and mainline. This will cost hours of labour just to physically reach the valves and piping.

04.01.2022 This olive tree in Ocean Reef has begun to warp the plastic valve box as the trunk and roots push against it. Whilst this hasnt yet caused a problem, we called the owner out and showed him and explained that we would strongly recommend a re-build/re-route in Winter to remove the mainline, wiring and valves from the trees. This preventative maintenance ; being able to see potential faults or weaknesses in your system before they occur and make recommendations into the future is a standard part of our service to you.

04.01.2022 When a customer asks why we don't use or recommend dripline a drive through the new estates where landscapers do house and land packages helps provides clarity. This system is a few years old, the Hunter X-Core has already failed and the drip looks, and performs terribly in Perth sand. We will quote to completely replace this nightmare.

04.01.2022 Locating and removing two original, failed 40mm solenoid valves from directly under a wall in Woodlands and rebuilding/rerouting the mainline, stations and wiring was a challenge in todays 41.6c sun, but dad and I got a great outcome.

03.01.2022 A poly pipe mainline The master solenoid is the only reason this system has survived this long.

03.01.2022 Due to the fine outlets on rotary style nozzles we would not use or recommend them on any bore systems with staining as the iron (or calcium) builds over time and blocks the filters and/or outlets. Either conventional sprays, or a stain removal system would be recommended to the customer. In this instance, the latter due to the original spacing.

02.01.2022 This solenoid coil has had a hard life (or was made of cheap stainless steel) as it has corroded/rusted quite badly off mains water in Mount Claremont. (Old on left compared to new).

02.01.2022 This was a nice Friday morning challenge. The mainline was deep as it comes under the concrete footing of a wall and a large tree root had begun causing major damage. Due to size of the roots, the tree stump, and proximity to the house the customer will be consulting an arborist regarding removal, allowing us to complete a tight re-route.... They will be seeking to cut it down and then poison if possible, stump grinding would cause significant damage.

01.01.2022 Polypipe under driveways and paving is a ticking time bomb. We would only ever install under hard scapes in pressure-rated PVC for reliability and longevity. Do it once, do it right.
