24.01.2022 The trip has been done & dusted. It was a terrific experience to travel through a remarkable part of our country with men & women who have spent so much of their working lives out bush. The adventure is not quite over yet. There is the small task of rescuing Mick Wickham’s Jeep which had to be parked-up part way through the trip. Great excuse to go back to the Simpson.

17.01.2022 The Commander-in-Chief tackles one more sand hill then celebrates at the local pub. As you do.

15.01.2022 In the finest traditions of never leaving a wounded comrade on the battlefield , a small group of RATS have been back to the Simpson Desert this week to rescue & resuscitate Mick Wickham’s Jeep. Well done everyone. BTW ... it’s still not too late to donate to CANTEEN - the RATS chosen charity.

04.01.2022 Big shout out to Complete Ute & 4WD in Adelaide for supplying us with the ideal support vehicle - a V-8 diesel Toyota Landcruiser Trayback. It could climb every mountain & ford every stream as well as carrying fuel drums , tools , spares , ice boxes & luggage. Our vehicle was near-new & never missed a beat. We’ve hired from them before & will do so again.
