25.01.2022 Every week for years our beautiful @Jannine runs our yoga classes and the amazing So Laura Jean Sedgwick who is an coach online training and nutrition but also physical training out of CrossFit if your interested in an ex army women to get you moving who was an army medic. The amazing Laura did a motivational speech about her amazing life to the women and teenage girls about fitness and watching what you eat it was so funny one the Mums today shared in group that her daughter said to her Mum would princess Laura approve of you eating that Kids keeping parents accountable lol. 21.01.2022 Christmas is fast approaching and, for the women, children, and pets who reside at the Sanctuary, there is very little to celebrate this festive season. In addition to the coronavirus, they have experienced #domesticviolence and had to flee their homes, with little more than the clothes on their back. , . ... 21.01.2022 This dead set legend is one amazing human he donates his time to the women at The Sanctuary Women Children and Pets Refuge. He helps and fixes so many pets from birds worth $100k to a dog with a rash. Hes such a kind super human to women running for their lives. Ryan is so kind and loves animals will spend hours finding the issue. Ryan researches wildly and is like a dog with a bone we wont stop till he sorts the issue. It takes a bit to impress me with vets but I now go to him with my fur and feather creatures! If you want a good vet go anywhere if you want a great vet go to Ryan!

21.01.2022 Roger made a guest appearance today to see a special person in hospital I can’t tell you how much it made her so so happy. Roger attends amazing places and meets great people that are so kind to him. Roger made her so happy in her last days. Roger is a funny boy he Brightens any room. Fly free my friend from hospital and fly high a special place for you in heaven. Value your health everyone it’s a privilege to be so healthy!

19.01.2022 It doesnt get any cuter than this Yesterday we filmed a story on Barry the 6 day old lamb who was orphaned BUT meet Barrys new mum.... the absolutely gor...geous Lucy shes hand rearing him. 16.01.2022 Everyday we get about 50 true free range eggs from our Sanctuary Chicken. Each morning they are let out of the pens and are free to roam about the animal area until sunset when they go back in on their own to be secured for the night. The women and children really love the chickens and ducks. I get 120kg per day fresh fruit and vegetable for the animals at the refuge. The Chooks love to have a daily dirt bath which is so good for them they eat bugs and worms in the ground.... This is what all Chooks should be able to do. If I sold each carton for $5 it would cover feeding all the animals each week at the Refuge. The women help clean out the pen and the children collect the eggs. Its a beautiful space teaching them sustainable living and skills to manage money. If you know anywhere that would like farm fresh eggs please contact me. Some places sell eggs for up to $9 a carton we only need to cover costs. We also need egg cartons if you have any please also message us. I put so many pictures up of the quality of food they get because we are so grateful to Woolworths for giving us such high quality food daily. There is a paddock of grass and weeds they forage on daily. Happy to do a discount for bulk order. Im happy to drop off weekly to any business that would like the eggs. In turn you are helping a great charity, saving lives and helping so many people. Thanks in advance for thoughts and ideas. Thanks so much for all the kindness also thanks to Anthony the manager and the beautiful team at Woolworths 19th Avenue that Allow us to have the donations bin at their store and also donate us the freshest fruit amd veggies each day to feed the animals. What it means to get beautiful food donated when you have no money and for s...ome have given up on life they get to the refuge and cry at generosity like this. 12.01.2022 Its been 5 long hard years since Taras brutal murder from a double murderer Lionel Patea. Natalie has looked after Taras little girl since and this is why we do what we do to save beautiful souls. We are so lucky to have Natalie helping us weekly. Natalie has the strength of an Elephant and tells the story about Tara to give the ladies strength not to go back. We stand united against violence and our whole purpose is to provide safe housing.

There are no refuges for men with children and pets. 05.01.2022 I wish I could share with you photos of the children who are here at the refuge, how one single photo would speak 1000 words if only I could show you what it's like for the children living here. A few days ago, it was raining most of the adults are running to grab an umbrella or a rain jacket, funny how we forget how to have fun as adults and partake in simple joys like playing in the rain. We have a pile of sand that was leftover from the paving, as I walk down in the rain... to feed the animals, I notice the children have sand all over the driveway. The children they are making mud pies, playing with the sand jumping in puddles, it was one of the cutest moments I have seen since I opened the refuge 4 1/2 years ago. The women are all inside cooking together- what else do you do in the rain? Later as I walked back down I see they have buried a child up to his neck in the sand, I asked the children who buried the child? The laughter and the body language of sheer excitement were priceless. I can still hear their giggles. its these moments you bottle. They were having so much fun. I laughed with the children and played in the rain for a few minutes with them. I walk inside to show the women a video of the children on my phone, one Mum wanted to run outside straight away to stop them I said no dont, they are having so much fun. The women watched the video and laughed and laughed. I have a dream that every child, every woman, and pet leaves here in a better condition then they came. . I have a huge request I need every one of you to help if you cant donate, please tag someone who can donate from a cup of coffee to thousands of dollars. We need to install security screens and window screens on the new doors we installed in, the next few weeks as the weather becomes warmer it will bring the midges and mosquitoes in their droves, being on acreage with no fly screens leaves everyone open to insect bites and the pain and discomfort they cause. If you can donate a few dollars the women, children and pets would really appreciate your help you are helping hundreds of women, children, and pets in the future.
