24.01.2022 To VBA standard? No problem These verandas were constructed with Victorian Building Authority and council regulations in mind. In addition to construction, we also supply plans and permits. All our constructions are custom in build and concept. Why take shortcuts? Our clients now have the undercover entertainment spaces they desired, including a fire rated wall on boundary (as per VBA compliance). When originally seeking quotes for the job, I had a vision in my mind of what the outcome could look like, and several landscapers were happy to quote for exactly the same design. Alex was the first to offer his own creative input and explain... why some of my ideas would not yield good results. This knowledge and confidence impressed me and based on the evident quality of their work (as seen on the website), I decided to hire Retreat & Outdoor Living for the job. This was despite receiving much lower quotes from others. In hindsight, this was an excellent decision given the stellar job that Alex and his team did, as well as the overall positive experience I had working with them. Alex is very methodical and detail-oriented which meant that every aspect of the job was considered and well-planned. His team is very professional and were pleasant to deal with during the works. Due to the Covid-related lockdown, there were some unavoidable delays in the timeline and Alex maintained good communication during this time to keep me in the loop. Given how well the job had gone, I also decided to get the team to clean and seal my exposed aggregrate driveway which further improved the overall look of the front-yard. The emails, the calls, the campaigning and the advocacy work has paid off! We finally have common sense. Privacy for rear was also key due to a slope in the backyard. With Merbau lined planters, plants and synthetic, minimal time will need to be spent maintaining. Rear bamboo screens were assembled on an independent structure built in front of fence, allowing for leveling off of turf area.
