It's funny, I've always scoffed at the price of it, but using it sparingly like on a dreamcatcher ring is great and I only used a bit of the roll. 22.01.2022 Today I had a little fun with some applique. This is my contribution to a Community Quilt! This quilt is a wonderful initiative run by @thelittlepocket_natureplay who are bringing locals together through art and craft after the catastrophic bushfires of 2019. For the Kangaroo and the Koala I repurposed some old upholstery samples (remember those big ol' display books full of swatches of fabric..well I always buy them when I see them in the charity shops) they came in handy today! The butterfly is made from a repurposed Indian Silk Sari. I find the process of applique so enjoyable I think I might turn these patterns in to a cushion next. Anyway, I do hope that they like them and I can't wait to see the finished quilt #applique #communityquilt #quilting

21.01.2022 I've just realised that it's school holidays at the end of this week!! I've so much I've got to sort around this messy house, but today instead of cleaning, I made a Macrame candle lantern . I've been given a lot of glass jars from a lovely friend and it's high time I used them to make something pretty and it was a great distraction from the never ending housework. 21.01.2022 Those of you that know me, know that I have a rather large (like crazy fabric woman large), collection of vintage fabric just waiting to be revived and repurposed . It's been refreshing to pull it out and actually use some of my stash to make this soft sculpture butterfly. This 1940's bark cloth has been patiently waiting for the right project. It's just too good for a cushion or a handbag too temporary. 04.01.2022 I'm really happy to have finally finished the Golden Moth that I started to make a few weeks ago. It is a belated Golden Wedding Anniversary gift for my mum and dad, who recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. I used some vintage silk from my grandmothers curtains and, after much deliberation, some strips of antique lace. I followed a pattern from @willowynn_art and it was simply an absolute pleasure to make.
