There a few heel depressions but she's watertight, super light and ready for plenty more waves. Fins not included. Here's what Jeff has to say on his website: The Gemini is one of the most controversial surfboard designs in the surf industry. Jeff shaped the first Gemini in 1994 after attending a San Diego boat show displayed double-hulled race boats and the phrase "superior to mono-hull" stuck in his mind. So unique and forward thinking, the Gemini was awarded a US patent in 1999. There were and are plenty of opponents to this twin-nosed board, particularly when it was first released. Nevertheless, many shapers have incorporated features from this design into their own shapes over the years, potentially in breach of Jeff's patent and rarely giving any credit. The fact remains that the Gemini is the fastest, most versatile surfboard on the market. The twin noses create a rail line much like a traditional performance shortboard. The double-winged, bat-tail removes foam in the back of the board, creating exceptional drive and hold while allowing surfers to execute radical turns. The twin noses also act as an entry point for air to flow under the board and through the deep inverted vee, creating lift and generating speed. The inverted vee decreases but stays through the entire length of the board. The unique 'double thruster' quad fin setup utilizes straight back fins, which reduces drage and promotes speed and maneuverability. 08.01.2022 Took the Nugget out for a spin on Friday. It was small with a howling offshore breeze but she performed beautifully. Had it all to myself until a friendly pod of dolphins came in to share the waves while a humpback breached playfully nearby ... was a magical day Here she is before she was waxed ... thanks Geoff for creating her, I love this board!!
