24.01.2022 Hi all, and a special hello to our Victorian friends and family. The last few months have been hectic but things are slowing again. The last couple of weeks have been a bit harrowing with a few shop lifting incidents that have caused stress. But, hey. In no way do these incidents diminish my joy in running the shop. I do miss going to auctions though. There was a community of dealers who I miss seeing as well as not being able to buy stock in the same way. It has meant longe...r hours and increased expenditure but I've met lots of lovely people too. Had a cold and had to close the shop while I got tested. Results came back quickly and negative. Phew! Have lots of new things and now things are settling down I'm hoping to finalise the website. Watch this space. Meanwhile I will show a few of the new arrivals...feel free to call me or message me Keep safe and enjoy See more

22.01.2022 Happy New Year everyone! Wishing you all health and prosperity. I'm also wishing for resilience, creativity and perseverance. We need hope and optimism as much as caution and common sense and I am starting the year with as much of these ingredients as I can carry. 2021 will be a consolidation year for us. The larger shop continues to evolve and our new signs are now in place. Importantly, our new website is up and running - actually, it is crawling. An online business is a ...different business and we will be gradually building and integrating it with the shop. We now have a small but committed team helping us which I am sure will build on our success. I invite you to have a look around the website as we populate in the next few weeks. We will continue to give you a few photos through Facebook as usual. For now, I am on a break, recharging batteries and pottering behind the scenes. I will be back in rhe shop on January 12 and Juliet will open the shop occasionally between now and then. I hope to see you all virtually or in person in the new year. Have a great 2021 Whimsyana See more

17.01.2022 Hi all Shop has been getting busier so posts and website are lagging a bit. Place is a bit of a mess as I wait delivery of the new cabinet to replace the atomic cabinet. People don't seem to mind but I'm a Virgo! I wanted to thank all the lovely customers who have been so loyal and kind. Many of them are very creative and often surprise me with the results of their efforts. The following peacock was bought here. It was all dark and lifeless. Look at it now! Will come back so...on with more photos Cheers Whimsyana See more

16.01.2022 Hi folks, I hope this finds you safe and well. My Covid jab played havoc with my immune system for a few days but it's all good now. Looking forward to the second one in August. Now. I know it's been a while but I have 2 very good excuses, I mean, reasons. The first is lack of head space. Yes, it's a thing. The other is that I wanted to give you a surprise and that took time. So. Tara! I opened a new shop! About a month ago the shop diagonally opposite to mine became unexpe...ctedly available. I had always wanted to do small furniture but never seemd to find enough space, so I thought here goes nothing, and voila, a new furniture shop sprung up from practically nowhere. Elbow grease, a little help from my friends, landlord and colleagues ( a big thank you to Dave, who is not on Facebook but hey, he still deserves a mention), and a few (or a lot bucks of) bucks later we are now open and I'm juggling two shops. Just a heads up, if you see something you like in any of the photos message us, since we are not having the time to load the website. It should settle down soon. I hope you like the new shop. Here are a few photos. Cheers See more

12.01.2022 Hi all, long time no see! I have a bunch of excuses, oops, I meant reasons from being too busy to too lazy and I hope you will forgive me anyway when I show you some goodies. Mostly I've been busy buying stuff at the end of the financial year. Hopefully this will help insulate me a little if we get a deeper downturn. Having a little government assistance has been sooo helpful. I have also been working on a website so watch this space. And I just want to say that I hope Vict...orians, including my family in Melbourne, know we are all thinking of them and wish them well. Anyway, here are a few items of the new stock... Lots more to come soon. Keep safe See more

11.01.2022 Hi everyone, the past few months have been hectic and at times stressful. So I'm taking the opportunity for a wee break as things settle a bit. The shop will be closed for a week but I will be back next Friday. Hoping to do a bit of behind the scene business support as well. Have a look at our new lovelies and message me if you have any queries. Feel free to share with your friends and groups! Ciao for now... Whimsyana See more

09.01.2022 Hi all We are busy gearing up for Christmas and making some changes to our shop. Firstly, I will no longer open on Sundays. Mondays used to be the quietest day of the week but Sundays are now very quiet and Mondays are looking a bit more promising so I will give that a try. It will be great to have a family day again after nearly three years of working weekends. Looking forward to checking out Sundays markets as well! Secondly, our new website is nearly ready. After complica...tions trying out Shopify, I decided to go with our own site. That whole process took a lot longer than I expected but we are nearly there. We will be mainly using click and collect as I don't have the resources -.mostly the time - for packing and posting but we will be able to post small items such as jewellery and small non breakable bits and bobs. I'll keep posted. You can always call me if you see something you like or have any questions. Messanger works too (usually. I can get distracted...) Leaving you with a few photos as usual. Stay safe. Ciao Whimsyana See more

07.01.2022 Hi all I can't believe how long it's been! I have few excuses apart from having been working on the website and trying to decide how best to use the site. Anyway, you can now buy some if the items more easily but generally only small things will be posted. A Web business, like any other business, requires a lot of attention, so we will just have to build it up gradually! The shop has lots of interesting things as usual. Let me know if you are keen on anything you see here or on the website. Keep safe and well Whimsyana
