09.01.2022 Recently I had the opportunity to participate in a webinar with Cathy Moore on Action mapping. Action mapping is an instructional design method developed by Cathy. In the webinar, Cathy described Action mapping as: 1 - Identify a business problem 2 - What does the audience need to do specifically (observable on the job) to reach this goal and why are they not doing it?... 3 - If training is part of the solution, what are the practice activities? (scenario-based) 4 - What information do people need for the practice activities? What I about this approach is the possibility that training or an eLearning course/module may not be part of the solution. This flips current practice on its head! You might be thinking, this is bad, you build eLearning!
