13.05.2022 Happy Easter to you all Just sneaking in a little bit of editing whilst my husband and boys enjoy a motorbike ride around Lake Albacutya. Stay safe and take care everyone and here’s cheers to making beautiful memories

10.05.2022 Once you begin to understand the RTW process and that this process begins well before an injury occurs, then can you begin to create change within your workplace. https://www.returntoworkplus.com.au/return-to-work-training/ #change #returntowork #worksafe #workcover #support #onlinetraining

04.05.2022 Having worked in regional Victoria, I am very aware of how isolating, confusing, and difficult it can be working as a RTW Coordinator especially if you only work part time or if it is a ‘task’ you have on top of your ‘actual’ role. Setting your workplace up to instil a supportive return to work culture can take up a lot of time especially if you want to do it right and give every injured worker the best chance for a successful outcome. It also requires a lot of resources and... knowledge to develop good return to work practices which is why networking and having a team around you is vital. My many years working as a RTW Coordinator for one of Victoria’s leading regional health services allowed me to see first hand the benefits of teamwork and gave me the skills I needed to develop an inhouse Injury Management Team. I share all of this knowledge and more with you in my 'Return to Work Coordination - Going Beyond the Basics' course. I invite you to click on the below link to learn more about this online, self-paced, highly engaging course. https://www.returntoworkplus.com.au/return-to-work-training/

28.04.2022 A big frustration I see from employers comes from not understanding how or why a decision is made regarding acceptance of a claim or approval of a request. This frustration filters through to the injured worker and can often inhibit the ability to build rapport. I found myself being frustrated by these decisions early on in my RTW Coordinator days, and once I started researching the Act I came to realise that our actions as employers and RTW Coordinators at the very beginnin...g of a claim, even before claim determination has been made, makes a big difference to the path the claim will take. The secret is knowing the history of the Act, knowing the sections of the Act, and knowing how people such as WorkSafe, ISCRR and other research bodies use information from past claims to make changes to the Act and the workers compensation system. Once your understanding of this becomes clearer, your ability to manage workplace injuries and get positive outcomes for all parties involved becomes so much easier. Our ‘Return to Work Coordination Going Beyond the Basics’ course is designed to help you ease this frustration as there is a whole module dedicated to helping you understand: 1. The history of Workers Compensation in Victoria 2. WorkCover stats, studies, and trends 3. Sections of the WIRC Act (2013) I Invite you to click the link below to learn more information about our course and to see if it might be right for you. For the month of April you can enrol into this self-paced online course for a heavily discounted rate. For more information click the link below or please get in touch at [email protected] https://return-to-work-plus.mykajabi.com/going-beyond-the-b

10.04.2022 Returning to work after injury is not always easy and often injured workers face barrier after barrier which leads to them believing they have no capacity at all. What would happen if there were no barriers, no... negative beliefs only the thought of 'Yes, I can totally do that!' I saw this jumping Croc recently when I was on holidays. If you look closely you will see that she only has one arm, yet she can still jump as high as any other croc to get her food. No one told she can't do that, no one told her she would struggle. What a difference it makes when there are no barriers or negative beliefs present. www.returntoworkplus.com.au

29.03.2022 Did you know there are five key stakeholders involved in any one return to work? Do you know how to communicate effectively with each stakeholder to get the best return to work outcome for each party? Communication is key when it comes to return to work and the way you communicate with each stakeholder early on following injury will set the tone for the entire return to work process. My upcoming online, self paced course is due for release on 1 April and will teach you how to... effectively communicate with each party involved to ensure a fair and reasonable outcome for both injured worker and employer. https://www.returntoworkplus.com.au

07.03.2022 Do you know how to prepare you workplace for injury? Did you know that by having a good Return to Work structure in place can actually help prevent injuries from occurring. That's huge. ... Wouldn't it feel great if you could be part of the solution to this problem? I think so to, which is why I have created this infographic. 19.02.2022 For most of us today marks the end of the summer holiday period. For all of those who are returning to school and work today, I get you and I understand the chaos of today. For me today sees my children return to school, me returning to work (in the office), and my husband going back to work. ... This morning was slightly challenging with the return of all the activities I am not currently used to, such as - making breakfast, - packing lunch boxes, - finding school shoes, - packing school bags But we got there and all children made the school bus on time! We deal with the chaos at home and then we get to the office, some may see this as chaos, some see it as calm! The good news for those of you dealing with Workers Compensation is that I can help you #KeepCalm. Did you know that from 14 January 2022, employers and self-employed persons are no longer required to notify WorkSafe Victoria if they become aware on or after that date of a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis attending the workplace, even if the attendance was before that date. Or, that from 1 January 2022, penalties will apply when employers do not meet early notification requirements form claims with a mental injury. It is important that you remain aware of and adhere to your WorkSafe obligations and how to manage any #workcover claims your workplace may have. If you need help understanding your WorkSafe obligations and would like to remove the chaos in this area, I can help. You can reach out to me by going to https://www.returntoworkplus.com.au/

25.01.2022 We were recently lucky enough to have our Albacutya Silos here in Rainbow, Victoria painted as part of the Silo Art Trail by the very talented Melbourne based artist Kitt Bennett. I have been following the progress closely as it has been a very interesting process and today I went and had a close up look... I am very proud to see the Return to Work Plus logo amongst others, made it into the design ... As many of you know a lot of time, thought and meaning goes into designing a logo. The RTW Plus logo is based around the colours of spring (new beginnings) and the arrow signalling ‘to return’ all of which I feel fits very well into the amazing design Kitt came up with for this silo Thank you Kitt for recognising this.

22.01.2022 Having 4 kids means space is pretty tight in our house, and with both my husband and I running business's an office was a must. However, with limited space having an office inside was not really an option so we made the bold decision to convert an old shipping container into an office space! The results speak for themselves and have absolutely blown me away. Thank you to my talented son @Parkman312020 for capturing these beautiful memories in a video for me xx
