07.01.2022 One of the biggest recommendations from the Royal commission was collecting information on a clients living expense making sure that they can afford the loan. If you are thinking of getting a loan then budget accordingly now. Make sure that whatever the new loan repayment will be you are putting this aside as savings for at least 6 months and you are living within your means for day to day living expenses for at least 3-6 months before getting a loan. 03.01.2022 The royal commission was meant to be about reprimanding the banks for their poor behaviour. Some how it all became about brokers commissions. Banks willingly paid brokers what was considered a finders fee. I really dont get how this is in a clients best interest to then put this cost onto a client. It will only mean the banks will make more money, competition will dwindle which mean they can increase rates and become the oligarchy it was in the 80s.
