25.01.2022 Tomorrow at 2pm at AGOY Yoga, I will be leading this 2.5 hr workshop and practice inspired by my training with Sarah Powers. If you are interested in deepening your practice or and understanding on Yin Yoga, this may be for you. It will be a half hour introduction with a full 2 hour practice! I hope to see you there. https://www.facebook.com/events/310370256293808/?ti=icl

25.01.2022 I could not have ever anticipated the last 2 months! The plan was to hike the Australian Alpine Trail over 6 weeks. After experiencing snow and blizzards as we dropped our food drops, we could not have imagined that only 2 weeks later we would have to leave the trail and our dreams due to fire. Fast forward and driving back to Darwin from Sydney, I left in 40 degree heat and travelling through drought, to be stuck on the Barkly Hwy in floods. So many pivots and turns in suc...h a short time. I felt a massive connection to the environment throughout this time, and the loss of our landscapes and suffering of people and animals weighed heavy as it did for us all. Even though dreams were not realised, I found joy in ways that I had not anticipated. I spent quality time with family and was able to focus on my yoga practice and quality rest. As change truly is the only constant, so things have changed for Revati Ayurveda. I have decided to return to university to study midwifery. Revati Ayurveda is still open and I will still be seeing clients, but it will be at a reduced schedule. I have also moved into accomodation where I share with others, so all consultations and treatments will now be a mobile service, and treatments will be limited. Even though I am offering less for one on one’s, I am planning more educational workshops this year. I will post here as they are happening, and hope to see you soon. With love Ros Consoli Ayurveda Practitioner

22.01.2022 Pathya - Wholesome Diet and Lifestyle Ayurveda has some general rules around how we combine our foods. Some combinations of food (even if considered healthy) can create ama (toxins) to build in the body. I went hiking recently and decided to eat seasonal fresh fruit along the way and trail mix. After the walk, I had a fresh salad wrap, and then felt heavy and full for hours. At the time, I was thinking.... why am I so full? Then as I went back through my food for the morn...ing, I realised I had combined foods in an unwholesome way. Making some small changes with how we combine our foods can make a big difference in our energy levels and how we feel after eating food. Our aim is to feel energised. So here are just a few of the big avoids for food combining: 1. Fruit should be eaten away from other foods (there are some exceptions) 2. Avoid eggs and milk 3. Avoid fruit and dairy 4. Avoid nightshades with dairy 5. Avoid dairy with meat 6. Never cook honey 7. In general do not mix your protein source For more detailed information on food combining, please feel free to click on the link and read this article written by my teacher Vaidya Vasant Lad and his wife Usha Lad. https://www.ayurveda.com//food/incompatible-food-combining

20.01.2022 It was an honour to present an introduction to Ayurveda at Darwin Yoga Festival this recent Sunday. Always a wonderful event and love being a part of this community. Thanks to all the organisers, presenters and participants for making this day so special

16.01.2022 Medicated Ghee is used in Ayurveda to purify, nourish and aid in longevity. It has a special quality where it is able to enhance the effects of anything that is prepared with it. Ancient recipes are spelled out in the Samhitas that are still made exactly as they were over 5000 years ago. The combination of ghee and herbs cooked over a few days creates a very powerful healing substance. I made this ghee over a period of 3 days for a client. First the ghee is made, then the herbs are decocted in water prior to being added to the ghee and simmered for hours upon hours upon hours. Consider ghee.....

13.01.2022 AGNI - The Ayurvedic Concept of Fire Agni governs all transformation. Its primary function is digestion, absorption, assimilation and transformation of food and sensations into energy.... Ayurvedic Medicine focuses clinically on the quality of agni in each patient. When agni is healthy we have a good immune, digestion, good complexion, confidence, joyful nature, logical, vitality and long life. When agni is impaired we have poor immune function, indigestion, malabsorption, fear, sadness, depression, confusion, emaciation, dull, lack of vitality, weak and fatigue. Simple things to AVOID to keep your agni healthy include: Prolonged Fasting Over eating and drinking Irregular eating Unwholesome food combining Heavy, cold and frozen foods Spoiled foods Improper use of purgatives and emetics Suppression of natural urges Repressed emotions Eating too soon after a meal

13.01.2022 Sutika Paricharya...... Sutika is a woman that has delivered baby and placenta Paricharya is the service or attention in all respects - whole attention - all directions... So Sutika Paricharya is the full and whole attention to the new mother. In Ayurveda, the post partum care for mother lasts 42 days and has many aspects. Some of the general care protocols consist of abhyanga (oil massage), oral administration of fats with medicine, decoctions with medicine, belly binding and a strict diet protocol. Today I am making a specific medicine for my pregnant client in preparation for Sutika Paricharya. The following photos show some of the steps for making Panchakola Ghritam - a specific medicated ghee. First I made the decoction, then the ghee, then they simmer for hours until the decoction is completely dehydrated and a medicated ghee is left. I will post pictures of the final product tomorrow.

09.01.2022 Today I have been thinking about my guru of Ayurveda - Vaidya Vasant Lad. He has constantly inspired, challenged, humbled and filled me with an un-explainable joy. He gave me the name Revati to which I carry with me in the name of my Ayurveda clinic. I made a promise I would carry this knowledge of Ayurveda and share this spiritual science with my community as a part of my life work and service. Here is a very short trailer about my teacher. Soon to be a full length docu...mentary. Enjoy..... https://www.ayurveda.com/about/documentary

06.01.2022 MANAGING VATA As we welcome the dry season, we also welcome an increase in VATA Dosha. This season brings in the qualities of dry, cold, rough, mobile and light - all qualities of Vata.... As these qualities in the environment settle in, so they reflect and settle in our physical body. We start to feel lighter, brighter, our skin gets dryer, our minds busier - and as this continues, a new array of discomforts and conditions arise in the physical body. To ground yourself in this season you can introduce some of the following: 1. Favour cooked food 2. Favour heavier foods such as root vegetables 3. Keep a regular routine with meals 4. Regular sleep 5. Stay warm (yes, even in Darwin) 6. Abhyanga (self massage with oil) Enjoy

I look forward to the next one which will be mid January, and I hope to continue the free talks monthly after that. If you are interested in a simple but good dosha test, please see the attached link. ...This one is on my schools website and was designed by my teacher Dr Vasant Lad: https://www.ayurveda.com/pdf/constitution.pdf Warmly Ros
