18.01.2022 1. When fasting diets work for weight loss, it’s because they help some people easily achieve a calorie deficit. No magic. Nothing special. 2. Keto may be advan...tageous for appetite control. Some folks who found high carb diets only made them hungrier had success finally on low carb high fat diets. If someone considers that superior, fair enough, or if you’re one of the folks keto works for, great! But in the long run, keto is no more effective than other diets, there’s no metabolic advantage, and adherence is a problem for many. 3. Carbs don’t make you fat, excess calories make you fat. (Just because a low carb diet can work is not a reason to demonize carbs. High carb diets work too). 4. Sugar is not poison. It’s the dose that makes a poison. Small amounts of sugar will neither make you fat or harm your health. 5. You don’t have to eat clean (unprocessed, nutrient rich foods) 100% of the time to get leaner or healthier. In fact, most people have greater success being flexible dieters, defined as eating most (~90%) of their calories from unprocessed healthy food, and for the other 10%, inside their calorie limits, anything goes (no forbidden foods). 6. Your body detoxes itself. All detox (Or cleansing) diets or supplements are pure BS. Try cleansing your refrigerator of junk food. 7. Fat burner supplements are the biggest scam in diet industry history. Please! Don’t waste your money! 8. High protein diets are not bad for a healthy persons kidneys. There’s so much evidence, this myth should have died decades ago. Stop spreading it, stop believing it. 9. Meat is a perfectly healthy part of a balanced diet. Just eat a whole lot of veggies and other plant-based foods along with it. (Or, if you're a vegan, don't eat meat - that's cool too. Just don't claim that no one should eat meat because it's unhealthy - science doesn't support that claim). 10.
