24.01.2022 Yesterday morning I took a drive to meet 4 year old Molly and her foster carer Bev. It was an absolute pleasure to meet both! Molly is a bit unsure of strangers, but didn't seem to mind me thanks to the treats Bev offered to share with me to give Molly. She is also a bit dog reactive, but seems to get along with kids, cats and other smaller animals. As a Kelpie, Molly would suit a family that could give her plenty of exercise and routine to keep her content. She showed so mu...ch love to Bev and was so very gentle with her. It's so sweet when you see such a caring bond between carer and foster. Molly is currently available through Desperate for Love Dog Pound Rescue And thanks to Bev for the lovely chat

23.01.2022 On Sunday, I tagged along with a group of other (amazing!) Shutter Paws photographers to the SAFE Perth kennel in Southern River. They have about forty dogs on site and many dont have profiles online yet since they havent been able to be photographed yet. It was a massive undertaking, with a lot of organisation from SAFE, and two teams of photographers - but we managed to photograph a wopping 29 dogs within 2.5 hours. It is so important that if youre looking for a pooch to add to your family, check out what is available for adoption. Here are some shots that I managed to contribute to the effort....

23.01.2022 Today I had a wonderful time meeting this lovely large lady. Her name is Haze, shes a Great Dane mix with Dogs Behind Bars Rescue Inc. What a beautiful girl she is too! Such a friendly, playful nature and energy. I kept having to run away to try and photograph her because all she wanted was pats and to play tug-of-war with her toy. Luckily, her foster carer was clever and grabbed some treats to help snap some shots

22.01.2022 You might remember this sweet calico girl, Chilli. I photographed her back in February when she was a wee kitten. Shes still in foster care with Perth Rescue Angels and has grown a bit since the last time I saw her. Have a look for yourself, Ive included two of her kitten photos.

22.01.2022 Havent posted in a while, but have had a couple of shoots. The first of which, I met two beautiful exotics. Both a little shy, but you could tell that they were just sweethearts. 21.01.2022 Just realised that I havent shared my latest pictures! Remember Kia Ora? I photographed her and her beautiful kittens not that long ago...and now shes back with her new (and very last!) litter of rainbow kittehs. I love the variety of colours that kittens can get just from the one litter. Ill pop their photos up on their own post. Kia Ora is a beautiful mumma, who was very affectionate and happy to watch as I tried unsuccessfully to get her kittens into my mini studio. She nudged me several times sympathetically and seemed quite content to sit back as her kittens ran around. She has beautiful and unique markings, as well as a stumpy tail, so she is sure to stand out in a crowd. Shes currently up for adoption with SAFE Perth - Saving Perth Animals from Euthanasia and I can honestly say shell make some family very happy.

20.01.2022 I know I've been a bit quiet on the facebook front, so I thought I'd share some photos I've taken recently. For my day job, I work for a company called West End Plumbing WA - the friendliest group of plumbers you will find in Perth! We're in the process of updating our website so I had the privilege of taking some headshots and a group shot for my amazing bosses, Darcy and Jeremy. 20.01.2022 This is a recommendation/appreciation post for Kela Collection. We ordered some awesome coats for our boys recently and were able to customise every detail from the pockets to the dinosaur spikes on the hood. Amy uses vintage woolen blankets and turns them into adorable coats/vests/bonnets for kids and the quality is amazing. Highly recommend her! :-)

19.01.2022 This little guy has been visiting us on and off for about two weeks now...and I finally caught a shot of him! Ive had to google him, but apparently he is a Splendid Fairy-wren and I have to admit, I kinda love that name. Suits him haha

18.01.2022 Guess who's back! Yesterday was a bit of a first for me, I met Groot, who is very shy and nervous about change and new people. With a little help from his fantastic carer, Julie, who has the most amazing house I have ever had the pleasure of viewing (RAAAAIIINBOOOWS!!! :-D), he settled rather quickly. Besides the few moments of pause where I stared at the beautiful walls and away from Groot to let him see that I was harmless, the rest of the shoot went very smoothly in my op...inion. I think with the right family, Groot would find his confidence again and become an amazing addition. He is absolutely beautiful. You can find him with WA Pet Project :-) As I write this, my own dog is snoring loudly and it is very, very distracting hahaha

18.01.2022 I've been so quiet! Haven't had any shoots over the last few months, but it's now kitten season so watch this space. In the meantime, I spent some time with my dog, Star, today, just to do some practice shots. She's a bit of a goofball, and likes to freak me out by attempting to swallow tennis balls whole.

17.01.2022 I took a drive out to Northam last Saturday and met these two beautiful ladies. I was certain that Id have my head stuck under the bed for the whole session, as thats where they immediately ran to, but after a while Nala (the tabby) ventured out and relaxed a bit. The carer came in and helped coax Cookie (the ginger) out and they both turned out to be quite the smoochers. It just goes to show that you should really give cats some time to let their personalities show before you judge whether or not they will fit your family. These ladies are both with Perth Animal Rescue

12.01.2022 I had the absolute pleasure of photographing my first puppy with Shutter Paws yesterday! Meet Gypsy, she is an 11/12 week old Staffy x Australian Cattle dog mix, and she is such a sweetheart! I think she will grow to be quite big, given the size of her paws, but I think she will definitely be gentle. Shes currently available for adoption through Desperate for Love Dog Pound Rescue.

09.01.2022 Another from last Sunday - this is Mishka, available for adoption through Perth Rescue Angels. Mishka was a young mumma cat, and is still quite small, despite being about 2.5 years old. She is friendly, but was unsure of me at first, and needed some prompting from her foster mum and her favourite cat toy to relax a little.

07.01.2022 First shoot back after a bit of a break and it was a bit chaotic. My son hid my glasses and I kind of need them to see properly, so a lot of my photos ended up with focusing on the wrong thing (thank you short sightedness!). But I got a couple of the very adorable 6 week old Billie with SAFE Perth. Her carer, Jacqui, had decided not to foster anymore kittens when this little one and her siblings literally walked right out in front of her. It was lucky they found Jacqui to take care of them!

07.01.2022 I met Moses a few months ago, he is such a beautiful dog, so friendly and playful. He would make a great companion for a family!

04.01.2022 Hunter lives up to his name, he was always on the move and super playful, loving the cat toys and wrestling with his siblings. Dont let the black coat dissuade you from adopting this kitty, hes got personality plus!

03.01.2022 Took advantage of the foggy morning and the kids sleeping in to go and spend some time with these adorable little scarlet robins. I wanted to find the sheep with their baby lambs, but they were too skittish and wouldnt stay still haha Havent had any shoots forthcoming from Shutter Paws over the last two months, but have one booked for this Sunday. Excited to get back into it again, so watch this space :-) Ive also made the decision to enter a few photography competitions, because why not! So, wish me luck!

02.01.2022 No new shoots yet. I have been entering a few competitions but no luck so far. Here's one of my entries. This is my neighbours sheep that my eldest has christened "Big Headbutter" as he likes to ram the fence to try and get to us probably thinking we've got food haha
