07.01.2022 On Friday evening we as a church were able to join with other churches from our Fellowship for an online celebration service. Today for our Sunday morning church service we watched a portion of the service as part of our in-person and online gatherings. If you missed it here is a link to the whole service to watch. 05.01.2022 COVID safe in-person services have been running at Revesby Congregational Church for a few weeks now. If you would like to attend our service it commences at 9:30am or you can catch it online via our Youtube channel. Numbers are limited to 40 due to the capacity of our hall so maybe drop a line to the office if you are planning coming This Sunday the 15th of November we will be taking a break from our present series in order to mark Remembrance Day.

01.01.2022 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7, NIV) As I was reading some devotional thoughts this morning by Martin Luther on this verse when I was struck by what he had to say about "the peace of God". What particularly stood out was this quote: "This [the peace of God] is the true peace that satisfies and quiets the heart; not in times when no adversity is at hand, but in the midst of it,... when outwardly there is nothing but strife. This is the difference between worldly and spiritual peace." Luther does well to pull out the difference between worldly and spiritual peace as we often conflate the two. When I wish for a bit of peace and quiet and long to take off to the bush to get away from it all, this is not about experiencing the peace of God (though it can be beneficial in making peace with God). This inner peace is experienced when outwardly there is nothing but strife. With COVID bringing disruptions to our lives in a multitude of ways and a world full of strife, God's good gift to us in his Son is a peace that satisfies and quiets both our hearts and minds. I pray that this peace is yours in these anxious times. MIchael
