25.01.2022 Join us as part of our RWLAC Annual General Meeting to be held on Monday 27th July 2020 at Revesby Workers Club. An opportunity to have a say and call for new committee members for our 2020/21 season. Limited spaces available due to restrictions in place. 24.01.2022 Cross Country is at Woronora this week. It was great to see some of our Revesby kids and parents having a run last week. Hope to see RWLAC out there again this week.
23.01.2022 Our second special Presentation Day award is the Joan Carroll Memorial Volunteer Award. This award is presented to a Centre volunteer who has been deemed to have given exceptional service to the Centre in the current season. Congratulations to our Senior Girls Age Manager Jodie Whitney who is the recipient of this award this year. Jodies children joined RWLAC in 2009 and Jodie has been an age manager for the last 4 years. Jodies Senior Girls age group (U13-U17) is a large ...group and Jodie ensures the smooth running of the group through their events each Friday night. Jodie is their Little Athletics Mum and has rarely missed a week as age manager. Being one of the bigger age groups, Jodies girls were usually last to finish their events on a Friday night but that didnt stop them assisting to pack away equipment at the end. Jodie is meticulous in her record keeping of results and at the end of each season has organised a pre-presentation night dinner with the girls where she presents them all with a record of their season performances. Jodie is always encouraging of the girls in her age group, spurring on those who need it and offering help and advice when she felt necessary. Jodie has also volunteered at Zone, even when her children werent competing. Jodie is a prime example of an Age Manager who performs her role without bias and considers all the athletes in her age group of equal importance. Congratulations Jodie - a very worthy recipient of the Joan Carroll Memorial Volunteer Award for the 2019-20 season.

21.01.2022 We have secured a new date for our Bunnings BBQ fundraiser - Sunday 20th December, at the Milperra store. 19.01.2022 Little Athletics NSW would like to provide our Centres and Members with an update in relation to Championship (Zone/Region/State) events for the 2020/2021 seaso...n. The Covid-19 Pandemic will have an impact on how we deliver our championship events this season. The board is committed to delivering quality events that keep our members safe. The staff and championships committee have been considering a number of options to achieve this. Whilst we currently do not have the final details we would like to share some of the details with you all: The traditional Zone and Region Championships will not take place this season. A number of State Qualifying meets will be held in the early part of 2021, most likely February. A State Championship Event will be held in March. The full details of the above will be announced in the coming weeks.

Little Athletics NSW has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 State Relay Championships, scheduled to be held in November. This decision has not been made lightly, but it is in line with the current NSW Government and NSW Department of Health restrictions regarding COVID-19.... Little Athletics NSW believes that centres and members will appreciate the early notice of this cancellation. Little Athletics NSW will continue to provide updates about the impacts of COVID-19 and the 2020/21 season. 13.01.2022 New Centre Records Two more Centre records were broken tonight. Congratulations to Jacob Poole, who broke his own U12 Boys 1500m record, with a time of 5:05.73 and Damon Beard, who broke the U11 Boys Discus record, with a throw of 20.33m
12.01.2022 Registrations for the 2020/2021 season will NOT open until August 15. This is to allow centres time to prepare their COVID safe plans. We will remind families when registrations open. In the meantime don't forget to register for/find your active kids vouchers to go toward registration costs. Registration costs will remain the same as last season: 1 child $115 2 children $220 3 children $315... 4 children $400 Uniforms will continue to be available to purchase during registrations. A full uniform costs $50.

10.01.2022 Dear Families and Friends, Changes to the Public Health Act and how it affects clubs came into effect at midnight last night. We are still able to host our Presentation Night but the rules governing Clubs mean that there can be no co-mingling between areas. ... Only the families who booked online will be able to attend for their booked session/a. What this means is that families are not able to attend Presentation Night in the Auditorium and then go down to the Cafe or Firestone Restaurant and have a meal or vice versa as this is considered to be co-mingling. As the event organiser I am required to inform you of this and we will have a checklist of attendees at the door to the Auditorium, We will also have a committee member at the signin area of the Club so that we can try and make the entry into the Club as smooth and swift as possible. 03.01.2022 Our most prestigious award at our annual Presentation Day is the Michael Irwin Award for Athletic Excellence. This award is based on a points system taking into account participation and results from Zone, Region, State as well as Centre records from the current season. The award this year was very closely contested with four athletes within 3 points of each other. Not being able to compete in the State Championships meant we werent able to take those performances into accou...nt. Congratulations to Jacob Poole - Under 11 Boys, who was this years recipient of this award. At Zone, Jacob placed 2nd in 800m, 2nd in 1500m, 3rd in 400m and 7th in Triple Jump. At Region, Jacob placed 3rd in 800m, 3rd in 1500m, 7th in 400m and 8th in Triple Jump. Early in the season, Jacob broke the U11 Boys 1500m Centre record by 2 seconds, which had been held since 1996 (23 years!). Jacob broke his own record another three times throughout the season, taking another 8 seconds off the record. Jacobs enthusiasm and enjoyment of Little Athletics is commendable and he is a very worthy recipient of this special award.
01.01.2022 Our first run of the season today was a great success. We got to test out our brand new timing gates and our athletes and age managers loved them! Thank you to Neil Oakey from Sutherland LAC for helping us out with them. Thank you to all of our spectators and parent helpers who all did a great job complying with our Covid safe plan. We have 2 more Saturdays to run, then we start Fridays nights on 9th October. Hope to see lots of smiling faces again next week.
