21.01.2022 NEW WEBSITE NOW LIVE Over the past month I have decided to make the decision to dive deeper into a particular area of Dietetics that I hold close to my heart. Over 1 million Australians are currently experiencing an Eating Disorder. Less than a quarter are getting treatment and support.... 1 in 2 Australian adults will face mental ill-health at some point in their lives. 3,000 end their lives each year. So many of us obsess over dieting, food, body size and appearance, so much so that it starts to cause ‘imbalances’ in our day to day diet. This can all have a negative effect on our mental wellbeing. On the flip side, diet can understandably take a backseat in those struggling with mental health. Little do we know, what we eat is a major contributor to our mental health and wellbeing. Dietitians offer individuals with incredible opportunities to learn more about how their nutrition and dietary behaviours ultimately impact their health. Here’s where I come in. I’m an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Nutritionist who wants to help others achieve better dietary balance through food. Whether you are going through an Eating Disorder, Mental Health condition, experiencing any kind of ‘unbalanced’ eating behaviour, or you just don’t even know! I’m here to support you and to get you to where you want to be with your nutrition and dietary behaviours x

15.01.2022 How many times have you felt so guilty after eating, you intentionally restricted yourself afterward as a ‘punishment’ or to ‘make up for it’? Doing this can lead into a cycle of restriction/overeating - which makes us feel even worse and out of whack! What I mean by this is that we may have what we consider to be a ‘naughty’ meal or a ‘binge’ then we compensate for this the following day by eating really ‘clean’ or skipping meals. This may feel like the right thing to do at ...the time, but it actually eventually triggers us to fall back into our overeating habits because we feel too restricted and deprived. This then begins the cycle. What’s the best thing we can do after a binge or overeating episode? DON’T. RESTRICT. OR. COMPENSATE. Eat your next meal. Have your normal snacks. Eat as your normally would, but don’t try to punish yourself for one instance that is actually completely normal! Not sure what ‘eating normally’ means anymore? This is where a Dietitian can help! Reach out if this is you x

01.01.2022 REVITALISE MEZZE LUNCH An easy lunch or snack, packed with so many different colours and flavours! This is a great option when working from home or trying to increase the variety in your diet without having to cook up a storm Here’s how to put together the perfect balanced Mezze plate (Revitalise style ): 1. VEGETABLES: stack up on this and include different colours e.g. carrot, cucumber, celery, onion, cherry tomatoes - this should make up about 1/3-1/3 of your pla...tter. 2. PROTEIN: to keep you fuller for longer e.g. high protein dip like tuna (pictured) or hummus and/or cheese, boiled egg, smoked salmon - aim to have this portion make up around 1/4-1/3 of your platter. 3. CARB: that’s high in fibre e.g. vita-weets (pictured) or alt high fibre cracker or multigrain bread/toast/wrap. This should make up around 1/4-1/3 of your platter. 4. ADD ONS: to add more variety and flavour e.g. here I added olives, pepita seeds and blueberries Snack away x
