25.01.2022 Ladies have you noticed that your body feels different in a number of ways after you eat, or exercise or have 1 too many drinks? That is, different to what your normal is...from even a year ago. # This is completely normal and part of the process of hormonal transition. Your body is sending you signals that it’s time to start modifying some of your lifestyle practices. # Historically we have not been taught to tune into our bodies, listen to the messages it sends and follow... cycles. That time is over as women are embracing their feminine energy and looking at aging differently. # It’s not all over, you aren’t going to only shop for elasticised pants (although damn they’re good sometimes) and you aren’t ready for the shelf. You can still party, enjoy life and fulfill your dreams but it’s going to look different if you want to be well for the long term. # Of course I’m going to tell you to start looking at food differently - food is medicine. You can see all the greens in this bowl - we need to be eating around 5-6 cups of veges a day!!! That’s a lot but our body needs it to keep our hormone system firing on all cylinders. Greens are your friend. Your liver loves them and your liver is the CBD of hormone and chemical detoxification processes. # There are other things to consider in modifying your life for hormonal transition but start top down. Food is key. . . . . #revivalnutrition #mindfulfoodideas #nutritionforwomen #eatforhealth #perimenopause #menopause #hormonaltransition #lifestylemodification #embracechange #lifeafter40 #keepitsimple #foodasmedicine #justeatrealfood #vegetables #womenshealth #chooseyourownpath #holisticnutrition See more

25.01.2022 Post ocean plunge fuel. # This food and wellness practice is about supporting myself in the next phase of menopause. We need to tweak our food and selfcare as we move through the different phases! Wow - who knew! # I’m taking extra care and eating foods to support my lymphatic system which is involved with mopping up and transporting cellular waste. We have lymph ports all over our body and if they become congested that could lead to other unpleasant things...we have them un...der our armpit and whats nearby? Breast tissue. We don’t want anything being inflamed around our sensitive tissues here. # I recently discovered mine were congested so the cold water showers, lymphatic drainage massage, ocean plunges and nutrition choices are focussed around supporting this. There’s family history so I’m prioritising my health. # My food: ground flaxseeds can be a mild plant based estrogen source when endogenous sources are leaving the body. Also a great source of fibre to bind and remove metabolic waste. Poor elimination can lead to recycling of hormone waste which is pro-inflammatory. # Walnuts look like a brain and support cognitive function. They are also top dog for omega 3 essential fatty acids. I need all the smarts I can get! # Berries look and taste superb, are high hitting antioxidants and help provide nutrition for cellular energy. # Cinnamon is a natural sweetener and can help balance blood sugar levels and we want good insulin sensitivity at this stage of life. # Menopause is a work in a progress every day. It’s not to be ashamed of or diagnosed with- it’s a part of the circle of life. Modern culture and society have forgotten to honour and respect this. # It’s my mission to support women. Why would we allow the women who’ve birthed, nurtured, loved and given so much to others, to be tossed to the curb when their youth fades? What is that? # I’m driven to support and give back to all the amazing women in the world. Sending you love. . . . . #revivalnutrition #mindfulfoodideas #menopause #perimenopause #hormone #foodasmedicine #nutritionist #endocrinology #womensupportingwomen #lifechanging See more

24.01.2022 What do you think about this statement? # The more I learn about these incredible bodies we’ve got and the peaks and troughs of life cycles, it really makes sense...that we go through awkward times in Menopause and Perimenopause. # For example, remember when you were a kid and just did what you wanted without worry or consideration of what others thought? Then when you hit puberty, suddenly you’re self conscious, aware of fitting in, pleasing others. Finally, as you move i...nto Perimenopausal years, things change again and you start wanting to express yourself freely, just do what YOU want, shake things up... do you relate? # Turns out this is completely normal and a response to the cycle of hormonal fluctuations. Once puberty hits and we are flooded with reproductive hormones, our behaviour and intentions are focussed on nurturing, protection, compliance, cohesion - females making a lovely family nest. But either side of this period of our lives, we aren’t driven by the same motivations. Rather the free spirit in us just wants to live and feel and be! # So there’s nothing wrong with us, we don’t need to be automatically medicated, we aren’t going going through a midlife crisis! We are just doing what we are biologically programmed to do! Society and cultural expectation is the problem. # So before you go thinking there’s something wrong with you my friends, please take a good long look at exactly where you are in life. Is your body trying to tell you something and you just aren’t listening? Many women get sick because we don’t MAKE TIME for ourselves and make the changes needed to accommodate what our body needs. # If this message resonates with you, I’d love to hear your thoughts. I’d love to show you a way though in my new Lifestyle practices program called The Holistic Impact. Our body knows what to do if we step out of the way. . . . #revivalnutrition #mindfulfoodideas #womensupportingwomen #womensempowerment #hormonalhealth #menopausesupport #perimenopausal #lifechange #holistichealing #theholisticimpact #listentoyourbody #integrativehealth #openmind #thoughtsandfeelings #selfcare #justdoyou #womenswisdom #cyclelife See more

23.01.2022 Fridays wish for you...never forget who you are. From a young age we are moulded, encouraged and groomed as women to behave, dress, eat, fit in to a certain profile deemed acceptable. We don’t even know it’s happening. # When we start facing life’s hurdles is the time we start waking up. Is the life you’re living one that really serves you? Is it fulfilling you? In alignment with your beliefs and desires? If not - WHY? # Don’t be scared of change, making new plans or upset...ting the status quo. Remember you only get one shot at your life so just go for it in your special unique way!!! # As an advocate of women’s health - all of it not just the food!!! I just wish for you to be you however that looks - you don’t have to be sexy, polished, look on trend or be glowing! I love a disco anytime and don’t mind doing it in the supermarket if the right tune is playing! (Soz kids you w got 7 weeks of it coming up!) I love dancing and love being unfancy so please do something you love today and don’t give a crap what anyone else thinks! 23.01.2022 Get some bright Friday vibes with your food people! # Vibrant food makes you feel vibrant! Salad is so much more than lettuce, tomato and cucumber! Go for textures, colours and things out of your normal shopping habits. # This one was a cracker to look at and eat. Very simple knock up of shredded purple cabbage, rocket, cherry tomatoes, yellow capsicum, whatever herbs you have eg parsley or dill and 1 cup of cooled cooked black rice. My favourite dressing to add is a couple... of Tbsp tahini mixed with 1/4 cup EVOO, 2 finely chopped garlic cloves, juice of half a lemon, salt and pepper. # This will bring the Friday night party vibes to your guts all day!!! . . . #revivalnutrition #mindfulfoodideas #salad #eattherainbow #justeatrealfood #paddocktoplate #healthyeating #guthealing #loveyourguts #hormonebalancingfoods #microbiome #nutritioncoach #theholisticimpact #yummy #getinmybelly See more

22.01.2022 It’s just about not getting all fancy and complicated. Streamline your life so you can prioritise yourself. In doing so, you are teaching your sons and daughters that women are allowed to have rest, look after themselves and aren’t at everyone’s beck and call. They need to learn that! # We are good at pushing ourselves, doing 12 week transformation programs, eating a certain way, pushing through the pain at the gym...but what about all the everyday little stuff!? # Lifestyle ...practices. # These are the things that make the biggest difference to how you are going to fare at 50 and beyond. # Thoughts, feelings, your response to life, what you put in your body, the people you hang with, the language you use, your interactions with the natural world - this is the stuff that impacts your health, your hormone function through Perimenopause and Menopause and your daily fulfilment. # Embark on the journey of you and ditch all the crap that’s weighing you down. 22.01.2022 Certainly it was a relief when I found out what was going with my hormones. I had repeatedly been told I was too young but Perimenopause can start in our early 30s as egg quality begins to decline along with other reproductive processes. # I mostly just didn’t recognise my thoughts and negativity - most unusual for me! Along with feeling puffy, sore breasts (i resorted to wearing old maternity crop tops to bed), feeling sad and alone. I think in hindsight I was relatively l...ucky. # But as women we need to share our experiences with others - particularly younger women. They need a heads up as to what’s coming. Stop the secret women’s business thing, which just brews fear, loneliness and isolation. I wish I’d known. # So what you may be feeling my dear friends, is within the completely normal realms of the modern day experience of hormone transition. The signs and symptoms are vast. You don’t need drugs and serious interventions straight away. Can you work on your lifestyle practices to reduce severity of symptoms and navigate your body back to calm and towards balance? # You can do a lot before resorting to medication. Educate yourself and take the driver’s seat of your journey. # It’s just part of life. If you look after the basics (which again we haven’t been educated about) you can enjoy this time of renewal and freedom. 19.01.2022 When you can get out of your head and into the present - which is what happens in yoga slowly but surely! - you can find peace. The more you practice, the more peace you feel and experience. # There’s been times even this year I have not been on the mat for regular practice and it is only in hindsight I recognise how I didn’t feel as well or vibrant. Do you get that too? # What I love about yoga is that it doesn’t judge, doesn’t expect you to be flexible, have ripped abs, lo...ok hot, has no expectations and opens a space for you to be exactly who you want to be. Does that sound pretty damn good to you? # Whenever I feel rattled and unsure, that’s a signal I need to get on the mat. 16.01.2022 I have had to get real with myself numerous times about this one. Particularly in our 40s, dropping the expectation about what we think we should have achieved by this time. I’m working to pull this wall down so I’m free to allow life to happen. Moving to a new place, making friends and establishing a business presence and then there’s Corona! So I am just letting it be and see what every day day brings. Plus I have a couple of gorgeous kids, a husband who gets me, hot s...howers, fresh food and the ocean to plunge in! 13.01.2022 The path of our life is ours to create. Everyday. Are you creating or being directed? # We don’t t know what our life has in store for us so we just have to have a cracking day as often as possible. # Show up for yourself spiritually, physically, emotionally, mentally. Move, eat, create in ways that suit you - no one else, just you. ... That means setting aside time to explore the depths of you. Little by little, bit by bit. # It’s ok to not like what you see, many of us don’t. But take the time to know why and maybe it’s not so bad. Maybe you can do something to change it. # If you can find some space for self kindness, love, compassion and acceptance, your journey will change. 12.01.2022 Some of you saw the gorgeous Alex Robinson when she shared her passion on our page. Today I wanted to take this opportunity to share her amazing REVIVE YOU! Be... Abundant in Health, LIFESTYLE REVIVAL PROGRAM. As some of you know I am currently committed to my overall well being on so many levels after what I consider to be a health crisis. Alex is one of my amazing mentors who continues to support me with this and if you are guided to embark on a journey encompassing the varying pillars of health then she could very well be the support you are looking for. I have been working with Alex one on one and am excited to be moving to the next level with this amazing lifestyle program in the very near future. We can think we know so much but the reality is we are not experts in all areas. Having the knowledge and wisdom provided to support us can only enhance our well being and ultimately our lives. I am grateful for such a passionate and supportive mentor and although it is up to us to commit to the changes necessary Alex provides the ongoing encouragement required.

12.01.2022 Good food doesn’t need to be fancy requiring you to be in the kitchen for ages. Mind you that’s wonderful for new found chefs who are discovering the joy of cooking but for world weary moms - slow cooking could open up your word! # The process of slow cooking draws the nutrients out of the food slowly and this is particularly beneficial when cooking with meat and bones, which is chokkas full of important amino acids, collagen and connective tissue. All essential compounds fo...r health and a well functioning gut... also great for reducing symptoms of autoimmune diseases eg joint pain of rheumatoid arthritis. # I used to just use my slow cooker in winter but now I’m finding ways to use it all year round because damn - its tasty, price efficient, easy and healthy! Also kids love it too. So this Morrocan style soup is 6 cups stock 2 carrots chopped 1 onion diced 3 stalks celery 1 tin chickpeas 1 tin lentils 1 tin diced tomatoes 1/4 tsp each cinnamon, ginger, turmeric, cumin Squeeze of lemon Fresh parsley & coriander chopped up Just whack it all in together on LOW for 6 hours Or HIGH for 3 hours. Could through in meat protein of choice if you like but plant protein is good to throw in the mix a few nights too. 09.01.2022 Beautiful new studio to practice in @yogaloftnewcastle. It’s so wonderful to be able to walk everywhere from my new home. I only need the car for grocery shopping these days! # I have been studying the blue zone lifestyle for a while and one thing that has always stood out to me is the incidental movement. Walking is so important for our muscles, skeletal structure and circulation. It’s so under rated as exercise but it’s also therapy for the mind too. I feel stronger than ...ever tackling some of the hills in my neighbourhood. I think of the terrain in Sardinia, Ikaria or Nacoya peninsula - physical labour in the fields and walking is part of the blue zone story that promotes longevity and wellness. # While physical labour in a field isn’t part of our lives so much in Australia - we can certainly get walking more. Can you find a way to park the car further away from your destination so you can walk or just get up earlier to walk for 45 minutes? Do it with a friend, push a pram, meet a neighbour. 08.01.2022 Do you walk? For the love of it? I used to think it wasn’t intense enough in my younger days. I had to go hard, get the cardio up, sweat, hurt even, sort of do stuff I didn’t necessarily like...all in the name of fitness and control. # I know myself so much better now. Have you given yourself space to really discover how you like to move and feel energetic? You’re allowed to do exactly what you want. Your body will be so delighted when you listen to it. # Walking (solo) als...o gives you a wonderful time to reflect and gather your thoughts. Do you have time for silence and quiet in your day? Women are so task oriented and focused on others we get out of the habit of tending to our own needs. Please tend to yourself daily so you can shine your sparkles brightly! # Corona is isolating. 07.01.2022 During these unusual times, I’m most grateful for having access to fresh food from the market. # If you’re wondering what you can do to enhance your body’s defences against Corona, just look at what’s in the fridge and pantry. # Avoid packaged and processed goods. They just send your immune and nervous systems into inflammatory cascades of responses- creating the perfect environment for corona virus to do its work. ... # Throw in the modern day stressors of poor sleep practices, staying up late, eating on the go, using stimulants to drive you, alcohol to dull you, pollution...you know the story. # We know corona can attack anyone. It does seem to take those who are immunocompromised. All those things I mentioned compromise immunity. We can’t live in a bubble but we can make choices that improve our situation. # Diverse colourful food to promote the microbiome, good sleep routine, brain firing practises, hopeful thoughts and perceptions. That is within our control. # Use the gifts Mother Earth is endowed with. It’s what our body craves and needs to survive. Find ways to get more veges into your day. 04.01.2022 Wishing you a lovely Friday wonderful people. # I posted this pic to remind us about being quiet and self-reflection. During my yoga training on Lembongan island, we had to walk home in silence after class ended for the day. That was 15 minutes of no talking (not very long I know!). It was amazing how much I saw and felt in that small window. # I try to take that with me in my practice now after class. It’s great to be in the zone for an hour but after class we tend to jum...p straight back into our world - checking phones, talking, having coffee, rushing off to work. We do what we have to do. Could you find even a few minutes just to let all that beautiful work you’ve just done on the mat, just sink in to your body? There’s always something in social media that indirectly makes us feel we are good enough somehow. # You don’t have to do anything special, aspire to be something great, ...create a following if that’s not in your game plan. What you want to do is perfect, no matter how insignificant it may seem in a time of evolving super woman achievements. These women are to be respected and supported but you just doing your life your way, deserves respect and support too. # Unravel yourself and see the beauty and magnificence that you are dear ladies. You are superb and wonderful just as you are. # I want to reinforce this point because every time we think this way, our cells respond. @drjoedispenza talks about cells and neural pathways wiring and firing together. When you start to admire and love yourself, those pathways respond!!! # So the message is simple - there will only ever be one of you, time is short, so choose you, unlearn then bullshit and create your own template of life! 02.01.2022 Here’s a Friday warm up thought for you ladies...and fellas too! (We know our behaviour sometimes impacts on you - sorry about that. ). # You may have noticed with all those hot flushes, interrupted sleep, boating, mood changes, libido MIA and all the rest that you got some attitude!!! And maybe it wasn’t there before, when you were normal. # It’s understandable to be ratty at times with all those physical symptoms making you feel yukky but what I’m talking about in my pos...t is liberation. # The nature of estrogen circulating in gradually reduced levels has a dramatic impact on our body. There is a push-pull situation going as we pivot from being primarily the carer and nurturer in a family unit to wanting things for ourselves. Our mind and soul is demanding us to step up and take what we really want. We may have had years of being compliant, being submissive, let that good girl image dictate our lives way past it’s use by date, just saying YES too much! # You aren’t being difficult or a cranky old woman! You’re just done with anything other than genuine. It’s not about being rude or obstinate, it’s just being clear and knowing what you you want and communicating that. # Hormone transition is an opportunity for resetting, growth, initiating passions and ideas that have just been quietly ruminating. Our health state is a reflection of our mental, mental and physical condition. So we can do a lot to influence this. # Ladies, menopause is an opportunity for change. 02.01.2022 Does anyone feel they don’t know where to turn for honest, realistic, non-judgemental advice on how they are feeling about the change of life? # I did when my changes started happening. I wish I’d known what may happen - like trying to understand why I had so many negative thoughts all the time, or why I felt puffy most days or that Perimenopause is a thing that starts around your late 30s...just a Heads Up would have been good. # That’s why I feel so strongly about women...’s health now. I want to help women transition with awareness and knowledge of what’s to come. But also for younger women so they can understand and make better lifestyle choices earlier so it’s not such a shitstorm later! # This has been the driving force of why I created The Holistic Impact Lifestyle Practices program. Doable, achievable and life changing information that your body will respond to, so that you can integrate them into your daily habits and rituals. # If there’s one thing you can do for yourself in a year we are all looking forward to, let it be to prioritise your selfcare and wellness. Bring on 2021 by choosing yourself as your first priority. I’d love to be your winglady and mentor if you want to experience #theholisticimpact in your life! . . . #revivalnutrition #mindfulfoodideas #menopausesupport #perimenopause #womenshealth #wellness #selfcare #womensupportingwomen #womenempowerment #cyclesoflife #thepause #hormonehealth #lifestylepractices #lifestylementor See more
