Under this beautiful Virgo new moon energy it’s the perfect time to put into action what you have been working or manifesting on so it’s time to stop talking the talk but walk the talk .. .... I’m combining my love of all things physical and spiritual under the one account - pilates, stretch, mediation, kundalini yoga meditation, hands on or remote intuitive energy healing, reiki healing, and astrological energies All of these ‘tools’ nurture not just your physical body but mind and soul as well - total balance, a piece of calm in a turbulent storm, an exhale moment of peace and love . Since 2019 and probably even before I have been on my own transformational journey I have seen the deep despair of nearly losing a loved one, the anxiety and illness with high stress levels but also the calm and balance during the storm 2019 was the catalyst for this with my Husband in rapid renal failure, a kidney donation by moi, life saving major surgeries and a chance and Hope of a new life .. I am so grateful for that journey as it has set me on a path today that makes my soul sing . Thanks to my brilliant teachers from @13moonswomenstemple I have seen first hand the power and support of women coming together in circles to be heard, to be supported, not judged or fixed just simply heard These circles are powerfully healing with a combination of kundalini yoga, tarot, astrology energies, stretching, meditations - a place to feel calm and supported via zoom or in person . 14.03.2022 What a week of fabulous classes and sooo many laughs from all my wonderful clients .. . It started off in Monday circuit class when the Nutbush came on and one of my ladies didn’t know what the dance moves were ??!! So in true flash mob style we all broke into an impromptu cardio version of the Nutbush in line dance formation - laughed so hard . The week just got sillier and funnier but isn’t that how exercise should be ? ... . I always plan my classes with the astrological energies so all of this Aries season we have been doing some firey cardio as Aries is a fire sign and needs to move. Aries also rules the head and neck so I have interspersed some beautiful slow flow classes with a lot of neck release work with the #franklinballs Mars is Aries ruled and rules all things muscles and tendons . 23.01.2022 BACK CARE PLAN PART 2 ... . We demand a lot of our backs and we only get one spine for life ! Our spines to be healthy are meant to move forward (flexion ) backwards (extensions ) sideways (laterally ) and rotational . Often pain occurs when we constantly use one plane of movement and not balancing out the other planes. Most of our lives are spent hunched over working at a desk so we are in mostly flexion The more we are in flexion, the more our muscles adapt and change ...our spines and shoulders posture , Here are 3 stretches and 3 strengtheners fo your low back . Side bends kneeling and mermaid side bend seated . Quarter roll backs - rolling from straight spine to a small rounded lumbar spine. From sit bones to middle of the bottom . Clams for a strong butt to support the low back . Four point diagonals three ways. Arms only. Legs only. Both together . Adductor ball squeezes in neutral spine rolling into a bridge . Add these on to yesterdays Back care plan to build a back care routine. . Save and bookmark to keep . Whether youre rehabbing an injury or just need to slow things down for a while, its important to put some of these moves in your routine to connect and protect your spine . When your spine feels stiff, nerve twingy, aching or recovering from pain these stretches and small pilates exercises will help you on your way to a healthier, happier spine and low back ... . Stretches - lumbar rolls feet narrow and then wide . Glute stretch with one knee pulled in Side lying bow and arrow stretch . Elbow prop back extension with neck rolls, to cat cow - childs pose . Strength exercises - pelvic curls Into bridges with arm extension. Gentle heel slides in neutral spine with arm extension. Keep ribs down and back still . Cease the exercise if you experience Any pain during any of these especially the bridges or back extensions . 19.01.2022 ABS arent made strong by crunches, in-fact LOTS of people shouldnt be ab crunching !! . I like to strengthen the shoulder capsule AND my abs at the same time . In these slides I demonstrate basic scapula retractions from beginners to advanced ... . You work against gravity as your resistance for your abs so you can still attain a strong core without a crunch ! . Scapula positioning - pushing away from the floor and flattening between the shoulder blades instead of sinking into the floor Try to make your arms longer and that will help flatten the space between your shoulder blades Progress to single arm holds whilst still maintaining scapula control Try not to allow your chest to sink to the floor . Four point diagonals with arm progressions to the side More advanced - progress to hip rolls with two hands on the ground to build up to a single side plank . Advanced - knee lifts in neutral spine with knee taps to ankle taps . Advanced - single leg extension to arabesques with controlled descent . Take your time and start with 8 -10 reps and when the shoulders start to sink have a break ! . . Happy Thursday to you all See more

17.01.2022 CORE ON FIRE - with gliders and toneybands for #toneybandsthursday . I saw the stunning Ava from @mindalign_pilates perform this a little while ago. I saved it and had to try it so here it goes. . Its a bit clunky as Im on carpet with gliders so maybe a little more resistance than floor boards ?? . I tried the toes flexed and extended in these pikes - holy moly - both are tough but which one do you think is harder ?!?!?! ... . The side planks got a little bit wonky when the glider had a blow out but no one was harmed in this video . I always find such joy and inspiration from so many amazing instructors on IG and Ava is one of them. 15.01.2022 Back Pain Care Plan Part 3 . Please see my Instagram page for the complete exercises - revival pilates . Did you know that every time you use a muscle its not just a single muscle that does the job you want it to do ! . The muscular system works like a play or musical - There is the main heroine/actor who does the lead, there is the support actors and then there is the opposite of the heroine, a villain !! ... . So when our muscles our working eg our lumbar spines we need our stomach muscles (rectus abdominals and obliques ) to be the villain and work in opposition !! The lumbar spine also needs it support crew of transverse abdominal muscles (pelvic floor ) to help stabilize it Theres also a heap more well call them the extras that help fix the spine through the hip and glutes . . simply put - its not just one muscle that works but a WHOLE system that needs balance to function cohesively together Here are some .. Stretches of the quadriceps to help lengthen the hip flexors which can lead to poor posture and back pain Cat cow stretches pulling abs in Darts - strengthening of the mid to lower trapezius muscles Pulling shoulders in together and gently lifting chest from the ground. Cease of back pain occurs and rest head on a pillow or towel and just do the arms . Planking from baby planks to full planks Side easy planks for strengthening of the obliques . A strong tush will support the lumbar spine, knee health and defy gravity aka saggy butt syndrome (almost !!) ... . Some cues that I love for glutes are to reach the leg as long as you can, imagine you’re pressing your heel into an imaginary wall This will help keep the hamstring long and Glute more active . Lay on your arm rather than propped up on an elbow plank as the trunk can lengthen and not utilize the obliques or QL to lift the leg . Lift into the band and hold for a second and release the leg slowly down . They are such an awesome bunch of girls to throw anything at and they will always rise to the challenge . In each of these slides there are 2 exercises that you perform back to back for 3 rounds - 30 seconds on 8 seconds rest Please see my Instagram for all the exercises. Still repeating the same timing theme of this weeks previous posts - 30 seconds first exercise 8 secs rest and 30 secs second exercise in each video ... . Pilates Super sets .. . Slide 1 - elbow side plank clam 2) into side plank tricep raise salute . 1) Four point diagonal tricep extension with leg lift 2) Four point front raise with leg lift . Modified swan dive 2) swimming . Side steps with opposite arm - dead bugs standing ! 2) squat with Delt raise . Rear delt raise 2) repeater legs . Double tricep kick back 2) repeater legs . kneeling thigh stretch with front raise 2) shoulder press . Stretchy side bends with side leg lift . Perform each set 3-4 times .
