24.01.2022 Fundraiser for Tembi On the 8th December 2016, a local girl, Tembi Ward, aged 9 was involved in a serious accident. Tembi was attended to at the scene, and then flown, with her mother by her side to Lady Cilento Childrens Hospital in Brisbane, by Care Flight Australia.... Tembi has thus far had 5 operations on her feet, with more surgery to come. Tembi has to learn to walk again and is using the hospital equipment to help her with this very painful and enduring process. For Tembi to return home, she is requiring equipment for her physical disability, and restructuring of the major areas of the Wards family home, to enable Tembi access. I am co-ordinating fundraising on behalf of Tembi and the Ward family. Funds raised will go towards Tembis rehabilitation and recovery program. Tembi has received support in hospital from some local community members, with visits, cards, bears, gifts and letters of support from her class. Even people and groups unknown to the Ward family have sent and given encouragement to Tembi. Now, I am asking you, Agnes Water, 1770, Captain Creek, Miriam Vale and surrounds, along with visitors to this beautiful part of Qld to support this fundraising cause for Tembi. Every cent counts! Every cent donated will help this young girl to rehabilitate and lead the best possible recovery and life ahead of her. Tembi has a long way to go! The Ward family have expressed their gratitude and thanks and would like to donate part of the proceeds to Care Flight Australia. Please look out for donation tins and buckets in retail outlets around town. I am aiming to raise $500 in the tins and $1000 in the buckets.
