25.01.2022 Sincere thanks to a local real estate agent who has shared this article about how Australian picture theatres of yesteryear are surviving the pandemic. With 986 seats in Mudgee's Regent Theatre we know it's a venue our region needs. "At Sydney’s boutique Golden Age Cinema in inner-city Surry Hills, a unique approach to generating income during the initial coronavirus lockdown has provided both a lifeline for the business and additional revenue streams moving forward. Like man...y Australian hospitality businesses, the 56-seat 1940s cinema quickly pivoted towards providing their services to local patrons in their homes. That meant home delivery of candy bar items, as well cocktails and other alcohol. Most notably, however, it also led to the creation of an innovative movie streaming platform called Movie Night, which offers a curated selection of films that people can order and stream in their homes." https://www.realcommercial.com.au//how-australian-pictur/

20.01.2022 We could do something similar for Mudgee's Regent Theatre. The funding that made this community event and heritage conservation plan is available to Mudgee's state heritage listed Regent Theatre. Community groups can apply. What would you want to see at The Regent? A series of film screenings and some musical/dance performances? https://youtu.be/B8VTwmobDkw

20.01.2022 Congratulations and best of luck to Revive The Regent members John and Helen Wood who are finalists in this year's National Trust Heritage Awards in the Adaptive Re-use category for their work on the Dickson Warehouse 1 Lewis St Mudgee. It's wonderful to see Mudgee represented again this year at the Heritage Awards!

12.01.2022 Yes, The Regent Theatre is closed. It's been shut off from our community for years. The closed doors and consequences of inactivity are by no means a reflection of how cherished this theatre is to Mudgee. Our visitors and locals adore this building and all the potential it has to provide our region with entertainment. We are here to help you remember that. #savemudgeetheatre

12.01.2022 The Regent Theatre stands proudly on Mudgee's main street, regal and grand. The Art Deco architecture is visible from many points across the town. Imagine how magnificent it was in Church Street in 1935. Today, it's still turning heads and stopping tourists. #savemudgeetheatre

12.01.2022 Yup, still there. Waiting for the right investor to restore our glorious theatre. Enjoy your Thursday and if you're passing by the Regent, take a photo and use #savemudgeetheatre
